Nestled with a view of the marina, Hotel Palia Puerto Del Sol garners appreciation for its scenic locale, though it may be a trek from some major attractions. The hotel's array of pools and proximity to local sights are a hit with guests, despite mixed reviews about the value, citing variations in facility quality and entertainment. While the room sizes and vistas are a plus, some visitors highlight room upkeep and cleanliness concerns. The service stands out as generally commendable, with staff friendliness being a consistent highlight.

Pension that does not deserve its 3 stars.
We arrived around 10:30 pm due to a flight delay.
After climbing two floors, with the suitcases in fairly narrow stairs (not practical), we arrive in the room sweaty.
Towards the bathroom, there we find that the flush has a leak. Once in the shower, salt water, not a drop of shower gel (empty can)...
The next day, when we wake up, a foul smell emanates from the bathroom.
I try to connect to the wifi, waiting for the restaurant to open for breakfast (08:00), in vain.
We head to the restaurant room after taking many stairs.
Buffet correct, the only flat no honey.
At the reception we indicate the problems encountered. Regarding odors a person will come to put product. The Wifi works properly according to the receptionist.
Indeed when we arrive in the room the smell is no longer perceptible but as soon as we take a shower it is horror.
We report the olfactory problem again at the reception and there we are told that the problem is due to the marina and that someone will come back to put product.
After talking to some holidaymakers about the accommodation, they tell us that wifi does not work everywhere but only in the room. After trying different
places we manage to connect, stick to the bedroom window. On the bed it no longer works...
The Pension's design is quite special, as a road passes through the accommodation part of the catering part.
Cleaning's not great. The sheets were not changed on the stay (8 days) and we found the top of the bed, in ball in the bedside table when we had positioned it on the bed correctly.
The consumption part and the restaurant (located below) overlook the marina, very nice view.
Meals are plentiful with a margin of choice.
The staff is kind and caring, especially at the restaurant.
I will conclude by saying that at no time was we offered another room.
I would not recommend this Pension to the elderly or those with mobility concerns as well as my friends.

We spent 10 days in the Pension Puerto del Sol.
The location is great. Superb view of the port, quite lively. Supermarket Mercadona has 5 min walk, very useful for buying water.
The transfer took just under 1h30 from Palma airport. We stopped at four hotels to drop off the vacationers.
On arrival at 10.30pm, very welcome by the receptionist. Discover our room very well located. We had a cold buffet open until 3am to snack a little.
The next day we had the presentation of the services/excursions. However, no introductions from the animators or Things to do at the jumbo club.
Cleaning women start very early in the morning at 7am. We have been waking up every day by moving furniture or slamming doors. There is just change of towels every day, cleaning of the shower and bed made (no sheets change).
The pool at Bar Chill out was enough for us. Only adults are allowed. There is music and the all-you-can-eat bar.
We made 4 excursions: catamaran, boat to see dolphins, visit Santanyi Point of Sale (with beaches) and visit the caves. The first 3rd incredible excursions. We loved it. On the other hand, the visit to the cave del Drach, too expensive for what it is. In the excursion there is a visit to the port of Porto cristo (free visit for 1 hour) and then a visit to a large pearl shop where there are them all over the island. This is not a small craft shop, free visit unless you buy pearls. Then there is the visit to the cave, where it is crowded (normal in August), but admission is 5 times cheaper than the Tour Award. Especially since each visit is 300 meters apart. Everything can be done on foot.
We still had a great stay. The food is variable, very good. The Inn staff very kind and helpful.
We have very good memories.

Stayed here for 7 nights in September 24. We had a 1 bed apartment which was spacious but basic. This was for 2-4 people and had a large double bedroom and 2 sofas in the lounge area that doubled as beds. The room wasn't the best be was OK for the price we paid. We had a few niggles like only 2 chairs on the balcony but 3 guests staying, a bit annoying but no major issue. Also the cups were so small we had to go out and buy more for our stay plus a spoon so we could make coffee in the morning. Everything was a bit worn but an OK base. We stayed in room 353 which was up 3 flights of stairs and quite a walk from the pool area so I wouldn't recommend this room, also had an awful leak when it rained.
We had 2 storms during our stay and both times the apartment flooded badly. Water running though the ceiling and lights.

Pool area was nice, plenty of sun beds and seats. It did say on the info on arrival towels left for 30 minutes or more would be removed but this didn't happen. We always manged to find a bed though. Pool snack bar was great. They had lager, fizzy drinks and slushys available to help yourself. Then all other drinks you had to go the bar. Food was OK too changing from breakfast items to burgers and hot dogs then cakes and pastrys and fruit in the afternoon.

The resurant was fine. A lot of the food wasn't to our taste but we always manged to find something. Usally a bit of a mixed plate but we are quite fussy eaters. Food wasn't always hot but no real complaints. They again had lager, fizzy drinks, wine and fruit juice available to help yourself. A wine glass would of been nice but there wasn't any avaible.

They entainment was awful, 2 nights while we're were there there was half decent entertainment in the chill out roof top bar but it wasn't great.
This area is also used as an adult only bar during the day up until 7pm, then kids are allowed. We had a 17 year old with us which I thought would of been OK as he's over 16 but no he wasn't allowed.

The views of the Maria from the restaurant and the chill out bar are spectacular and almost worth overlooking some of the negatives.

As others have said you need to be quite mobile to stay here as there's stairs everywhere.

Overall I'd recommend this hotel for a low cost all inclusive holiday but if you want luxury you won't get it here.

To be clear this is a 2.5 star hotel, and if you stay there with that in mind then you will not be disappointed, but if you want a higher standard then stay somewhere else.

We booked an apartment (allocated no. 326 with a view of the marina to the rear). On first impressions the apartment was a good size, with separate bedroom and bathroom and lounge. Lots of space. The room looked clean and suitable for a week's stay but then problems started to be noticed.

First the air conditioning did not work at all (so we ended up sleeping with the window open), then we noticed the patio door lock was broken. We complained twice but no-one came to fix it for 3 days so all that time - our room was unlocked 24 hours. As a warning in the event that someone entered the room in the night, before we retired, we barricaded the patio door with furniture. The beds were hard and the pillow too soft (for us) so sleeping was uncomfortable.

The maid cleaned our room everyday however when it came to changing the dirty towels, the maid on one occasion, simply rehung them. We complained and they were promptly changed. The toilet was unclean so my wife purchased toilet cleaner from the shop to clean our own toilet.

The hotel is located on a hillside so be prepared to walk up steps regularly. The grounds and bar areas were clean and well maintained.

The food - NOT GREAT to be honest. Plenty of choice but all bland, lacking in heat, and everyday pretty much the same as the day before. On occasion, the food led to upset stomachs and intensified use of the now clean toilet. I will acknowledge the patisserie section as being very tasty, and the donuts.. worth a mention but that was the only good point here.

Another point of acknowledgement is the complimentary minibus that runs every 10 minutes between the hotel and Cala Gran beach. Saves the long walk every time.

The location of the hotel is great being on the side of the marina with direct access and views from the chill-out terrace. Cannot fault that. Drinks, limited choice and all served in small plastic glasses (for safety around the pool areas). In the restaurant, the drinks are served in small glasses so frequent trips to the dispenser is needed.

We will not be returning as better hotels to visit, and regrettably the experience did not meet the expectation as promoted online or in other reviews. Its a hotel in a GREAT location but that's about it.

Says this hotel is a 3 star plus I whould give it a 2 star the rooms look modern when booking it but are not that poor work manship not maintained to the 3 star plus hotel as I have stayed in that class very poor when you get in the room first time here whould never stay here again their was no entertainment for the young kids at all when we where their from the 21 September to the 1 of October their is a massive language problem speak to you in French all the time when at pool with the kids alot of French people smoking at the pool that's for kids to swim in very ignorant when we arrived to check in to hotel the reception staff were some time helpful but on most occasions with the language being spoken to you French you could not understand from them did not speak English to you at all never had that problem with staying at other hotels in the island.

We had a ten night stay here clean towels every day but beds were never changed once at all reported the bathroom window was broken never got sorted for the ten day stay when opened fell in with one screw holding it with a handle that was needing a gd paint wooding flooring that was un even trip hazard big gaps shower room that was in need of a good deep clean and the smell was a problem too paint jobs to a shocking finish for 3 star plus I have diabetes do not drink tea or coffee or fruit juice was wanting a zero fizzy juice went to get on with breakfast staff seen me getting one then came and took the key away in there pocket the food was under cooked to Luke warm most time eggs and sausage were under cook only thing that was warm was chips which is not good anuff for a 3star hotel plus.

The drink were cheap cups for the drinks were rewashed cups that i I think is unhygienic showers were salt water plus pools too when we ask other jet.2 rep David he said they is no way to get fresh water to the hotel we have been to this iland at other hotels to stay that have fresh water when David came to the hotel people were all ways speaking to him about the hotel wanting to move to another hotel as it was to much stair for them to get to a round about to place is a struggle get up in down stairs my self I whould have not booked here as I had to stay in bedroom most night as my legs had swollen upwith all the walking up and down every were the floors in the restaurant were very slippy when it rained because the restaurant was down stairs they put old blankets down that made it really slippy on the tiles see a lot of people falling all over the place.

I think this hotel whould be good form couples and adults only as there is not a thing for kids even the music at kids pool is all in French when I asked a rep for kids music to be play was met with a plan no just wants on the iPad is was a family booking for a 11 spent over 10 in a half thousand for this with jet.2 was not worth it was told the season was over at this hotel been to other parts of the iland the season end on the 31 October all you got off the jet.2 David was excuse after excuse

Hello, We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We wish your booking agent had informed you about the conditions of the hotel. It is true that our hotel is located in an area where there is no fresh water available. Regarding the plastic glasses, we adhere to safety standards, as we cannot provide glassware for safety reasons, particularly to avoid any risks if broken in the pool. Therefore, we are required to use plastic cups in the pool and bar areas. As for the entertainment, we are unsure exactly what happened during your stay, as the animation team has always been present, especially for the children. They do have a schedule throughout the day, and there is always something planned for the little ones. However, since you mentioned the rain in your review, it’s possible that there were no outdoor activities because of it. Our hotel, as we always mention, is situated in an area of Mallorca that requires stairs. We are truly sorry that you were not informed of this during your reservation. We hope you find a destination that better meets your expectations in the future. Best regards,

Huge disappointment for this hotel which is more of an aparthotel residence than a resort because the buildings are separated by a street. The rooms are spacious but dirty and outdated furniture. The air conditioning in our room, when it is working, emits a very unpleasant smell of humidity. Cleaning was not carried out every day without explanations and when it was carried out it was very succinctly. 3 decent swimming pools but almost impossible to get a free deckchair when they are not broken or filled with bird droppings when they are under palm trees. Very few umbrellas and shaded areas too. The all-inclusive formula is a shame. No cocktails included, just low-end local alcohols or sodas. Very often you have to clear your table at the bar or the space next to your deckchair because no one does it and the cups and other trash from customers pile up. We are surprised by some positive opinions on the buffet which reflects the image of the hotel. Limited choice, crude cuisine with basic foods but above all absolutely no variety. Lovers of pasta with tomato sauce, fries or paella-style rice, you will enjoy it. 10 days with the same thing on the plate for lunch and dinner. Fortunately the marina is nearby with many restaurants. Salt water in the rooms therefore not drinkable. We were going to buy packs of water at the marina convenience store to drink and brush our teeth. Anecdotal but the mini safe in the rooms is chargeable and you have to leave a deposit for the bath towels and pay 1€ if we want to change them. The beach is accessible via a shuttle from the hotel but crowded at peak times. This “club” is a real disappointment for us and has partly ruined our vacation.

We have just spent a wonderful 10 days in Cala D’or Mallorca. We stayed at Palia Puerto Del Sol aparthotel and our experience was nothing but amazing. This is a 3 star accommodation and we chose all inclusive. We booked with Love Holidays for the first time and it all ran extremely smoothly from flights, transfers and accommodation. No sunbed wars exactly, we just needed to be at pool early (my husband went for 7:30 am and stayed down until myself and my daughter joined him at 10am). Food was great, lots of choices, not all to our liking but we were always able to find something and we ate out a few nights in the marina and in the town because there are so many incredible restaurants to choose from. Our room was 306, so overlooking the marina, housekeeping made our beds and changed towels daily and bedding changed every 3 days, toilet roll kept topped up. Accessibility could be challenging for anyone with mobility issues or with buggy’s etc as lots of steps and slopes to navigate, but contacting reception to get a ground floor accommodation might be helpful, but still some issues with steps to Marina and pool, so that’s a consideration for some. Reception staff were so friendly and helpful. We hired beach/pool towels for a refundable €10 each and you could change them for €1 throughout stay. Only down for me was the all inclusive wine was not good at all, but not a massive issue. A short walk has you at the Marina and a Spar shop very handy just through a gate from the main pool. I highly recommend Tiramisù at the Marina (closed Tuesday’s) for ice cream, smoothies, waffles, coffee, Aperol Spritz…absolutely fabulous and gorgeous staff. Chill out bar at hotel was a good spot and a lovely lady braiding hair every evening. We took public bus to Palma, took just over the hour and very easy to use phone or debit/credit card to tap on and off bus. Some reviews I read beforehand about the hotel were concerning and I was a little anxious and lowered my expectations, BUT, I cannot fault the time away at this aparthotel and would highly recommend.

The arrival started badly. We arrived at 2 a.m. with our 8 year old daughter and in our room on the ground floor the glass door did not close and there was a very strong smell of humidity. We asked to change rooms but the hotel was full. The bay window was repaired after 4 days, so our daughter slept on the mattress on the floor in our room and for the humidity we were told that it was normal that there was a lot of humidity at the moment. I still have my daughter's sneakers that were left in the suitcase all week that she didn't wear, full of mold stains. In terms of the buffet it was ok, the pizzas were good and the man who made them was very nice. The children's club at the time we went was almost non-existent, there were only 3 children and the activity leaders did not come to the children. The evenings weren't great either (already 2 evenings dedicated to games). Fortunately the positive point is the location with the marina, you can do a lot of things on foot. There is also a beach to do mandrago which Carole did not tell us about. We also asked her if there were any hikes to do, she told us that there was nothing to do in the area. Besides, we found plenty of walks to do. Bottles of water are 2 euros for 50cl and 50 cents for 1.5 L at the supermarket below the hotel. Of course they were careful not to tell us. We got kicked out of the bar with our 8 year old daughter because it was forbidden for under 18s during the day even though there were only 3 people at the bar. There were more than half of the seats left. In short, very disappointed for having paid 4500 euros for 3 for 12 days.

Just got back from a one week half term holiday at Palia Puerto del Sol Cala D’Or Palma. Our 2 bedroom apartment was very spacious, clean and cool with 2 bathrooms the showers were hot, powerful I’m just not personally keen on salt water showers. There was always plenty of food and drink and something for everyone even my fussy boys!! They particularly liked the burgers at the pool bar. The Lovely French entertainment/Animation team worked very hard with lots of different Activities and evening entertainment, they all spoke very good English too and would explain rules in French & English. The club dance is lots of fun. The Cleaners came in every day and made our beds and gave clean towels we always had plenty of clean towels. The Restaurant staff worked very hard clearing and cleaning the tables and attending to our needs. There is a lifeguard and first aid person that wander around the pools but are not always watching the pool they seem to do a bit of everything sorting out the Sunbeds, putting rubbish in bins, mowing the lawn they work very hard too. Would of been good to know they don’t allow inflatables in the pool (Although some didn’t stick to this but I saw one person get asked to remove one) as we could only use the inflatables at the beach and probably wouldn’t have brought them If known. There is a great free Shuttle Mini bus that takes you to the beach and back and it’s good to pay to ride on the little train to see some of Cala D’Or. The Marina is wonderful and lovely to stroll around looking at all the boats we walked around most evenings. There was a real mix of people of all ages and nationalities. We had a fantastic holiday and would recommend.

I went to this hotel with my family last July, there were 6 of us, we were attending a family wedding. There were over 30 of us in total. As a group we had an excellent time despite the hotel being really poor. This hotel has needs to come with a health warning. There were pot holes around the place, big holes in the middle of tiles, there are big holes in pavements. There were no warning signs or anything until we complained and then the yellow cones came out. Worse of all there is obviously something wrong in the swimming pool. On day2 of our holiday I suffered a very serious laceration to my big toe, not just a little cut, a gaping wound. I have the pictures but they would turn your stomach. The toe was bleeding for days on end, I had to attend the wedding in sliders ! i struggled to walk far as i kept having the stop and change the tissue/bandage on the toe. In addition to this my 14 year old in the 1st week of our 2 week holiday came out of the pool and his feet were bleeding, it turned out 5 of his toes were cut, in the 2nd week he came out of the pool he cut 7 toes. The lifeguard said this happens all the time people cutting feet and the only way to find out what causes it would be to drain the pool and inspect the tiles. I have a video of the lifeguard treating my son and telling us this. All Jet 2 can say is they clean the pool each morning at 6am which is rubbish. The lifeguards clean the pool during the days whilst residents are swimming.
The rest of the hotel is not great either. The rooms are OK, the food is very average, however make sure you don't miss out on your meal like I did, we had a late one so only went for dinner about 830pm, the restaurant was open until 9pm. At 830pm there was very little left. They have a pasta counter so thought I would have some pasta, unfortunately the chef told me the food was finishes and refused to boil me some pasta. When I complained to the manager the pasta counter reopened.
The hotel is not run very well at all I am afraid, when I reported my toe they didnt have an accident book, the Rep i reported it to left at the end of our 1st week so I had to report it twice.
I would not touch this hotel again if they paid me to stay there, Also, Jet 2 Customer service need to take a long hard look at themselves. You complain and after about 28 days they come back and say the complaint has been passed to another Dept, it is like pulling teeth. We got back off holiday in August and 7 months on we are still complaining with no resolution to my complaint. The reason for posting this is so people do not waste their money, it is a shame because the location is great and with a bit of TLC things could improve no end.
