I stayed in August 2024 as a couple and I must say that I was satisfied except for a few episodes. The hotel is located in Cala d'Or, a little far from the airport but easily reachable for us by taxi. The location is very nice and more exclusive than others visited on previous trips to Mallorca. The shops are much more interesting with famous brands and also the bars. To reach the center of Cala D'Or from the hotel you have to take a walk up and down as the location is made up of small coves and promontories. Therefore the area is not recommended for those with mobility difficulties and strollers, prams for children etc. The beach of the Cala Esmeralda hotel with a wonderful sea but with a staircase to go down. The hotel has several direct accesses to the sea which are very beautiful but in already deep water. The room is not very large but very clean and nice. Very fresh and well kept like the whole hotel. The cuisine is very good and varied, I also liked the vegetarian evening. Excellent breakfasts, varied and abundant. The staff in the room were kind, especially Sonia who speaks Italian and is very kind and sunny. Negative notes: Swimming pool overlooking the cove, wonderful but very small for the hotel with a ban on reserving deck chairs and umbrellas (rightly enforced). If you want an umbrella there, be prepared for long lines of up to 45 minutes with people who cunningly climb over the fences to get around the bans and the wait. The Sa Cala snack bar restaurant is very nice with views of the sea that are worth it. The drinks and cocktails are very expensive, as are those in the hotel's internal bar. The SPA is very nice, but we didn't use it due to the very hot temperature of the week. The negative episode was when we arrived at check in (reception staff not very kind or willing to help). We had booked directly from the hotel's website with the option they offered of paying on site. When we arrived, the reception guy pretended not to find our reservation and attempted a kick out, in hotel jargon for overbooking, that is, to send us away! When we complained and he just heard the word kick out from us, the reservation magically appeared with the invoice to pay. Realizing that he had made a bad performance, he then changed our room giving us a pool view in a better position. I recommend the hotel but be careful and assert yourself. Go to the marina of Cala D'Or where there is the port it is very beautiful.

e stayed at the hotel in July 2024. It is very conveniently located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, right next to the stunning Cala Esmeralda beach (note: very crowded in high season) and close to the largest beach in Cala d’Or, Cala Gran (also crowded). Despite this, the hotel remains within a short walking distance of the town center, with its shops, buzzing bars, and restaurants.
Design- and architecture-wise, the hotel is impressive—one of the most stylish I have visited in a long time.
The rooms are on the smaller side but very comfortable, decorated in a chic style, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. We stayed in a Double Premium room on the top floor overlooking the pools, and it was top-notch.
All hotel buildings and grounds were spotlessly clean and had a lovely fragrance.
The staff was mostly attentive, helpful, and friendly, with a few exceptions.
The food was good, but uneven. One day the dinner selection and quality was superb, the other day only okay. Breakfasts good, all you can expect. We had wine tasting on 2 or 3 evenings which was a nice touch. Prices of refreshments and wines reasonable given it is a 4-star superior hotel.
Overall, it is a beautiful and very pleasant hotel, which could have been exceptional if not for a few flaws:
– Some staff members fell below any acceptable standard—something one wouldn’t expect even in a 2-star B&B, let alone a 4-star superior hotel; e.g. – a bartender at the beach club mocked my surname because it apparently sounded funny to him—something that had never happened to me before. – the lifeguards at the main pool talked very loudly through their walkie-talkies, disrupting an otherwise lovely atmosphere. – during dinner, we sometimes had to wait up to 40 minutes for a waiter to bring our wine and water order. – there were limited sunbeds by the main pool, and only about 50–60% had sun umbrellas—ideal for sunburn enthusiasts, but not so much for everyone else. – sometimes ludicrous queues at the buffet during dinner, caused by a poor restaurant layout and lack of intervention from the management who watched the queues idly. Guests who just wanted to grab a dessert after their meal either had to wait in line for 15 minutes or skip the queue and risk angry looks from fellow vacationers :)
Please improve these areas, and you will be simply great!

Nice hotel, the lunch restaurant overlooking the beach is great and they looked after us very well indeed. We booked a suite with a roof terrace to find on arrival that it isn’t actually a suite with a roof terrace, it’s a room with access to a roof terrace in a different location aprox 60 meters walk away so we felt tricked. The roof terraces were in the shade all afternoon and evening when we were there hence no one seems to use them so I would recommend avoiding booking them.

Just back from a fantastic week’s holiday in Cala D’Or staying in the superb Inturotel Cala Esmeralda Beach Hotel and Spa. This is our first visit to the area and hotel and it certainly won’t be our last . From the moment we stepped into the hotel we immediately felt relaxed and looked after. We received a warm welcome from the very friendly staff at reception. We booked a premium double room which looked onto the pool and was extremely quiet. The room was slightly compact but had everything we needed and was spotless as was the hotel in general. Air conditioning was great and room was cleaned / beds made and towels changed everyday. Buffet breakfast and dinner was lovely and always lots of options to choose from. Staff go over and above to make you feel welcome and service was always excellent, especially in the bar and restaurant. The hotel has 4 pool areas (3 outdoor and 1 outdoor) and we never had any issues getting a sun-bed at any of the pools. The beach club located directly across the road served food and drink during the day and has spectacular views. Location of the hotel is beautiful across from a lovely beach and only a 15/20minute stroll to the harbour and main town centre. If you are looking to visit Cala D’or we would highly recommend this hotel. We will be definitely be returning in September to this wonderful location and hotel.

We’ve stayed in this hotel many times and loved it but unfortunately things have changed. Let’s start with the rooms:They are starting to look tired the floor grouting could do with refreshing or a reall good scrub and the bedding renewing as a bit grey looking it just needs a fresh look.The pool area is lovely but doesn’t appear to get hosed down as feet are getting grubby when walking around then towels get dirty. Your only allowed 3 pool towel changes a week which we feel for a Luxe hotel isn’t good enough. But our real bug bear is the food the choice and quality sadly is poor. The meat is like shoe leather every night and lacking in any flavour the fish I had was raw and lots of bones. Salad choice poor quality and desserts mostly mousse jelly fruit and a cake of some description or cheap ice cream. On a Tuesday there is only vegetarian on no fish or meat so if you don’t like veg you’ve had it. What a shame this was our favourite place to come unfortunately we won’t be coming back to this hotel 😩

We visited the Inturotel Cala Esmeralda hotel for the second time in a row, because the hotel met all our expectations. The rooms are comfortable, clean, the beds are very comfortable, the food is adapted to literally everyone and the kitchen is of the "open" type, so you can see how the food is prepared and if you have special requests, they will be fulfilled. The hotel itself is excellently positioned and next to the beach you have the opportunity to enjoy 4 more swimming pools and phenomenal wellness. We are delighted.

It was simply PERFECT! Very clean and nice and big room with sea view. Lots of storage space, mini bar (extra charge), terrace with possibility to dry laundry, very quiet. Pleasant ambience with small details. Lots of space by the pool - lots of options (4 pools, spa, sports, etc.). Super nice and courteous young team. We felt very comfortable from the first to the last second. Pleasant crowd and nice evening program (music). The food was very good! The highlight was the seafood buffet on Sunday evening. Otherwise always freshly prepared food (no large warming containers), fish, meat, fresh salads, vegetables, fruit. A dream! This was really the very first 4* hotel that we couldn't think of anything to complain about. Absolutely recommended. Prices at the bar and beach bar a little higher. But with the food there was a good and inexpensive selection of wines, also from the island. We enjoyed it much and we'll see you again!
The only tiny detail: The open bathroom is well designed. The shower is separated by a glass wall. The toilet also has a glass wall and door, although it always remained open a tiny crack. But that is really the only thing that could be improved.

Our stay at Inturotel Cala Esmerelda was fabulous! The hotel was very clean and tidy and had all the amenities you would need. However the sheets in the bed were not changed throughout our 7 night stay and pool towels can only be changed three days a week. The food was very good with lots of variety each night. One of us is coeliac and they were extremely accommodating and helpful, advising what food was gluten free and cooking food fresh to make sure there was no cross contamination. The pools were a good size. The pool sun loungers were all taken very early in the morning but we tended to use the pool in the afternoon when some were available. Overall a very good hotel which is located in a very good location to explore the town.

Restaurant is open for breakfast from 8.00am, if I remember correctly. There are coffee machines where you can serve varying coffees including latte and cappuccino. Breakfast was always first class. Highly recommend this hotel.
