Stayed here for 11 nights, initial welcome was not very welcoming as kept getting questioned that my children were definitely both 18 (son and his girlfriend) despite having all our passports in her hand. We had a 2 bed apartment and requested a quiet room and as requested this is what we had, it was lovely and quiet the whole time we were there. As expected room is tired but it was functional and we only needed the kettle and fridge. Spa down the road to buy water and treats. Room was cleanish, underbeds etc remains of false nails lots of fluff, sand in wardrobe. Beds really comfy. Air conditioning kept room cool quite quickly after we switched on electric. Food, the restaurant while busy we always found a table and easy to collect our food. The meat eaters found the food fine, lots of choice as a vegetarian my diet was mainly salad/ veg and chips, even the vegetable burrito on Mexican night was a salad wrap, breakfast was my favourite. Lots of fresh salads and fruit every lunch and evening. Drinks on tap was red/ white/rose wine, beer ( and a non alcoholic beer), water, soft drinks and sangria in evenings, no issue with the 1 euro for a cup- 4 alcoholic cocktails - though they were also handing these out to children and asked us in the evening do you want alcohol in that, so not sure if they were alcoholic from the machine. If you wanted the cocktails or spirits had to que at bar, one bar man/woman and often ques of 10+ people. We used the sun terrace a few times , nice little area. Good location easy walk in Marina and into Cal A dor, easy to catch bus up and down coast to visit different areas, small beach just down the road. Restaurant/ Bar and cleaners all friendly.

The gavimar ariel is located in the perfect location as it is a 5 minute walk to the beach and close to the centre , cannot fault the location at all. The staff are wonderful and we found them to be very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival at 1am we was told we was staying in room number 1012 and was told where to go but the instructions were very unclear so the gentleman at the reception took us to a room at the top of 2 flights of stairs that then was then the wrong room, that we had carried out suitcases to the top at this point! A honest mistake but not ideal at that time in the morning. When we eventually got to our room , I honestly could have cried! The bathroom was absolutely disgusting, smelly shower curtain , sick down the walls at the side of the toilet, tiles coming off the walls. I asked in the morning if our bathroom could be cleaned as it was really dirty but unfortunately that wasnt followed up. The kitchen cupboards are all dropping to bits. We had our beds changed once in our 10 day stay , the towels changed daily but the room was "cleaned" once during our stay. (Just a quick mop around that was all) . Absolutely nothing at all like pictures on the website what so ever. The view from the room was absolutely beautiful though. The photos on the website are taken from 2 different gavimar hotels which is rather misleading. The food had good days and some not so good days, really enjoyed Mexican night! But it was by no means terrible. We feel like cala dor is definitely a place to go self catering as there are so many amazing restaurants around to explore and experience , we ate our 4 nights and really wish we had gone self catering. Breakfast was a bit boring, the same stuff every day. The pool was good, we had to cross over a road to use the pool as the pool to our side was closed for some reason throughout our whole 10 day stay. Evening entertainment was absolutely fantastic! Really good and the whole family enjoyed it. Evening entertainment that is also located over the road, but we didn't mind that at all. There was no soap in any of the toilets around the hotel, that was a bit gross. Overall our stay was OK. We loved cala d'or but unfortunately wouldn't stay at this hotel again due to the cleanliness issues that unfortunately let the hotel down.

We've just returned from a 6 night family stay at Gavimer Ariel Chico Hotel, staying AI with 2 adults and 1 child. We were a little apprehensive reading some reviews, however, we were pleasantly surprised. On arrival we were given a room on the ground floor in the main hotel (this hotel is across two areas with a road as a divide). However it was too noisy and close to a local bar. This was 1am and we immediately asked to be changed rooms, however, nothing else was available that night. The following morning, we were given another room across the road (pool side), which had been updated and was very quiet. We did go when it was very hot, which limited what we could do during the day. We mostly stayed around the pool. We found the snacks at the poolside were adequate for lunch snacks, so never went into the restaurant at lunchtime. As others have mentioned, you pay 1£ for deposits on cups and plates, this does help to keep areas clean and free from wasps and ants and didn't cause an issue for us. Food was good, you can always find something to grumble about when catering for a large population. We found it was catered for French/German appetites, but that didn't bother us. We always found something to eat. The staff are friendly and are always working to keep the areas clean and tidy. I would recommend updating all the rooms. Considering what we paid and how expensive everything is becoming, we had a lovely holiday. Hopefully, next time, we didn't visit during a European heat wave!
Would have given this hotel a Good if this was an option.

We stayed from 24th July 2024 to 5th August 2024 This is my second time at this hotel and sad to say it’s gone down hill the food was just about passable most nights we just had to eat out and heaven forbid you want a drink at the bar they only ever has one barman on some nights you could wait over 15 minutes to get a drink and this was last week one of the busiest weeks with it being the six week summer holidays we stayed for 12 nights not once was are floor cleaned are feet was sticking to it in the end they just done the bare minimum The only positive thing about this hotel is its location not too far from the square with all the bars and restaurants and 2 minutes from the beach And don’t get me started on having to queue up from 8.45 am ready for the pool opening at 10am for a sun lounger it was ridiculous if you didn’t queue there was no chance of getting a sun lounger there is definitely no were near enough sun beds for everyone the entertainment was ok the kids enjoyed the hours show they put on each evening

We have just arrived back from a ten day stay here,booking via Jet2,if you are intending booking, the brochure photo doesn't tell you everything. We had booked the all inclusive package,myself,wife & two teenage daughters. We arrived late on the Tuesday evening,via the transport from Palma. Group of noisy Germans in front of us,once gone we were able to get booked in. We was firstly given a room,above the reception area,once in,this wasn't for us,two single beds,sofa bed,almost touching,no space to walk around,no real storage space,bathroom acceptable,small balcony area,which looked out onto a dirty/dusty flat roof, this wasn't what i paid for. We were straight back down to reception,nothing they could do that late on,but could we go back at 11am the morning after. Without unpacking we headed for breakfast,which starts at 8am. Buffet style,cereals,fruit,continental or cooked breakfast,bacon i a bit to be desired,even sprout & cauliflower on some days.. Also,freshly made pancakes,hot drinks as well as the usual fruit juices on offer,put it this way,you won't starve,but go early before the morning rush & go for a table first. The room,we were given a choice of two,one the same as the first,just on a higher floor,or pay/upgrade to a self-catering studio,lounge,with sofa beds,kitchen/dining area,with separate bedroom & bathroom...(Sold)we took it,this was lower down by the crazy golf. As i say,the brochure doesn't say that this is on two complex areas,another set of rooms & building on the opposite side of the road,you can also ust thr facilities in the other Gavimar hotels. So now sorted we headed for the pool,apparently three? One isn't being used,because of the flooring around it(Cover it with AstroTurf) a plunge pool,round the back,then the main pool. This opens at 10am,if you want a sunbed then join the queue,i wa there,along with a few others at 8.30am(which I didn't mind,as we all got talking,which passed the time) to get a decent spot,if your late you'll struggle,not really enough beds or parasols for everyone to use,be warned. Sign for pool rules on the wall,no floats. Pool bar area opens around 11am,drinks & snacks available,some drinks are charged for. Entertainment is on during the day,water aerobics,polo,kids games,demonstrations,evening shows,we didn't see these,choosing to go out instead. Overall this is in a great location,beach is close by,shops & bars just up the road,quick walk away..Staff very helpful & friendly as you'd want. But don't go over expecting,take it as it is 3☆☆☆

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week stay at this hotel.
The room was spacious and cleaned daily, the only issue we had was the shower head was didn't distribute the water evenly and could do with being replaced.
The food was good and there was plenty of choice at all mealtimes.
The highlight of the holiday was the entertainment team, we took part in all the activities and we had a brilliant time with them, a big thanks to Alex, Suntai, Medhi, Linda and Elisa, you guys were absolutely brilliant.
The pool area was large and there were always plenty of sun loungers available.
The pool bar and stage area was large and there was always a spare table to sit at. It's a brilliant idea to charge €1 for a glass as it cuts out on waste, the beer and pop was self service, however, if you wanted a cocktail or a spirit, then you would have to queue up at the bar. Luis, who worked behind the bar was brilliant and a great help to us. The only thing that could have improved this would be to have more ashtrays on more tables, as there were only 4 ashtrays on the 4 tables near the entrance and everyone would congregrate around them leaving no space for walking through.
The hotel is in a great location with some great bars, restaurants, shops and the beach all within a 5 minute walk.
All in all it was a fantastic 2 weeks, and we would definitely return to his hotel again in the future.

Fantastic stay, staff are very friendly especially the bar man in the entertainment area. This hotel was spotless you pay a euro deposit for a plastic cup for your drinks which is a great idea as there was no glasses or plates left around the complex. Entertainment staff were brilliant and worked really hard to entertain everybody, really had some good laughs so well done to the animation team. Food was excellent always something to eat especially the soup always hot and talk about the cakes, I’ll like cake. Very close to the centre and beach which was a plus for us, would highly recommend Gavimar Ariel Chico Hotel. Things to try while here…Dugan’s Irish bar great band….Kalypso tutti frutti for cocktails.
Would I return yes I would, so thank you all at Gavimar Ariel for an excellent stay.

This is such a beautiful place, we had payed extra to be in an apartment and it was definitely worth it, there was lots of space and the beds were comfy, entertainment was amazing, love that they include the guests every night, dances and songs gets stuck in your head and will often find yourself singing along, entertainment team Sabrina, Justin, Margot are fun and interactive and you can tell they are enjoying it as much as you. Lots of different shops near by and close to the beach. Staff are friendly and approachable. Meal times can be a little busy depending on the time but we always found some where to sit, tables were always clean and ready for the next guests, Bar staff know how to make a decent drinks, measure spirits from the heart which is good if you like strong drinks, overall a good experience, already looking in to booking again for next year.

We have recently come back from 2 weeks staying at the Ariel Chico - after reading the reviews before we came out we went with an open mind. Please remember that the hotel is 3* and that you make your holiday what it is and what I can say is that our holiday was fantastic from start to finish. From the moment that we arrived and checked in we were made to feel welcome. We had a room at the back of the main reception by the small pool. Our hotel room (1 bed apartment) looked out on to the Main Street (opposite the electrical shop), no noise on an evening once the balcony doors were shut, it great size for the 4 of us. With a small kitchenette which was handy for the fridge. Bedroom looked out over the pool. The room was cleaned regularly, beds changed and made over the course of the 2 weeks, towels changed every 3 days. We stayed all inclusive and there was plenty of choice of food - 2 children aged 7 and 14 enjoyed the pancakes for breakfast and the deserts especially.( lots of lovely desserts to choose each evening). We found the staff in the restaurant very friendly and polite, asking the youngest name and calling her a princess for the rest of the holiday also making her pancakes in the shape of a flower. The location of the hotel is perfect to be able to walk into the centre of calador where there is lots of bars/restaurants/ shops to have a mooch around. And last but no means least the animation team - these guys work so hard each and everyday. There drive and enthusiasm for involving everyone was infectious( my husband did all the activities). Our youngest daughter went to the kids club daily most days twice a day. Each member of the team made us all feel welcome and included in everything that they did. They really made our holiday. They weren’t pushing and if you wanted to be left alone they respected that. I also want to mention the guys who worked on the bar each day and night again always polite and very friendly. We are already planning to return next year twice !!

Ignore the bad comments. This hotel and resort is amazing. Just returned and I haven't a bad word to say. Location fantastic minute walk to beach which is beautiful and shops and restaurants on your doorstep. Food lots of choice and varied something for everyone, breakfast inparticularly good. Facilities something for everyone. We stayed all inclusive paid 1€ for a reusable cup which is refunded at end of stay. You help yourself to cold drinks and beer on tap. Rooms clean and basic air conditioned we had a pool view. Didn't use pool as beach was so good ad daughters preferred beach for swimming and snorkeling as well ad using inflatables as can't in pool.
Would definitely recommend and would definitely return.

It depends which apartment block you are in. The main one near reception has a lift, but there are a lot of apartments that are only accessible by stairs.
There are more places to choose from in the Cala d'Or area.
