Gluten free here is unfortunately not as good as it claimed to be on the website, the head waiter front of house manager was very kind helping us but there were several mishaps with wrong labelling of food and not that many options in some nights or some more interesting dishes for gluten free e. g. paella was never gluten free. We loved the pool and the cleanliness. And the location was fantastic it couldn't be closer too the beach soo lovely to walk straight down to the sea from your hotel. The air con was also lacking in reception and hotel areas like restaurants so it could be uncomfortable at times.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel occupies a superb location at the side of Cala Gran bay with 2 mins walk to restaurants bars and shops but tucked away at the same time. Hotel ~ beautiful calm interior Balearic in style but not clinical. Staff~ outstanding!!! All friendly welcoming and extremely helpful and hardworking. Food~ caters for every taste excellent vegan and gluten-free options nice variety too. One visit per stay to a la carte and barbecue book on app to avoid disappointment iPads available at reception or book with them if not tech savvy. Pool~ beautifully clean not over deep. Pool bar~ go to bar no waiter service. Snack and menu. Garden area~ no beds by 9 am all taken. This starts at 6.45 am with towel layers. Restaurant ~ busy and well run avoid peak times if you prefer a calmer atmosphere. Hotel foyer ~ lots of chill out areas around to sit quiet. Hygiene ~ spotlessly clean and beautifully scented. Lift and layout~ you get a map, it is confusing but 2 days and you get used to it. Small slow lift but adequate. Farewell lounge~ can be used for toilet and showering after luggage is packed before airport and home. Excellent facility! Overall a wonderful hotel that should definitely be a four star not a three. Staff are truly friendly, amazing and fantastic. They work long hours and extremely hard and go to great lengths to make your holiday special. I would like to mention Pedro master omelette maker. Patricia and Roberto on reception and Antonia the waitress especially. Food excellent and room beautiful . Ask for beach side upper floor. We were 1516 on the 5 th floor amazing,,, I would have no hesitation booking this adults only hotel it totally exceeded our expectations. Many thanks to all for making our holiday memorable and special and the Manager for running a great place to stay. Ruth and Craig UK

Lovely modern hotel in a perfect location. We had researched many hotels in the area and this had the best reviews, we weren’t disappointed!!! Friendly helpful staff on check in, lovely clean room with a mini fridge. This was a bonus as we had unseasonably high temperatures and could keep bottled water chilled. The restaurant was well laid out and lots of choice at breakfast and dinner. Always something for a vegetarian which was great. We very much enjoyed the bbq on our 4th night, outside dining and freshly cooked salmon and prawns to order. Fantastic location right next to the beach. Shops and cafes on your doorstep. Would go back in a heart beat !!!!

Amazing staff who are always on-hand to assist or give advice, and go out of their way to ensure one has an enjoyable stay. Special mention of Danielle and Jose in the restaurant where you are always welcomed with a greeting and a happy smile. The BBQ was excellent with a good varied choice, which was prepared by a very happy and jocular chef, Angel. Breakfast choices were very extensive and I'm sure met every-bodies needs. Dinner was also good but I personally would have preferred a wider selection of vegetables to go with the roast turkey such as broccoli, carrots or cauliflower, which would have been more appropriate for that choice of meal. Other than that, I felt the choices were very good and could not fine fault. The room, 1303 was adequate but as a long term carer for my son in the past, the standard rooms would not be acceptable for a person confined to a wheelchair, as access to a small bathroom could not be attained in the wheelchair. There is however good access around the hotel and grounds for a wheelchair bound person, including a lift on the outside swimming pool. The standard rooms are on the small side but are acceptable for a couple although hanging space for clothes is limited. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeper and morning tea, coffee and cream were regularly topped up. The bed was very comfortable and UK TV programmes were available on the TV. The heated indoor pool is very good but was not highly used during our stay, so it was always available for a leisurely swim. Having now stayed at three different 3/4 star hotels in Majorca over the past 12 months I liked the garden area where the sunbeds were well spaced out and it was a nice change from the regimentation of other hotels where the sunbeds are lined up around a pool area. The location of the hotel is excellent, only a short walk from all the facilities of Cala D'or with an abundance of bars, restaurants and shops.

Our 3rd or 4th time returning to this wonderful hotel. For people who don't go back to the same place, there is something about this hotel that draws us to return time and again. Is it the amazing staff who look after the guests so well, or the fact that the core staff hasn't changed all this time? The beds are so comfortable, the cleaning staff attentive and regular, the food is plentiful and varied, the beach next door still clean and gently shelving. Or could it be the position of the hotel just off the edge of the centre of Cala D'or, within 15 minutes walk of the Marina. Could it be Jose and the restaurant staff and reception staff who are always welcoming and friendly? Whatever it is, we will be back.

Excellent location on Cala Gran beach and within a short walk to shops, restaurants etc of Cala D'or. 10/15 minute walk to Marina which is a lovely area to stroll around a d watch the boats coming and going. Plenty of cafes etc to stop off at for food/drinks. Our room overlooked Cala Gran beach and on first glance seemed very good but on closer inspection you could see faults I.e. chunk of plaster off wall near balcony door, corrosion around shower tray, leaky shower tray etc etc. Plenty of hangers in wardrobe but unfortunately because of the very tall unit where the safe, fridge were in you could only use half of the wardrobe to hang clothes properly. Could have done with more drawers. Bed was very comfortable and sheets changed every 3/4 days. Room was well serviced by our housekeeper. Food at breakfast was good but I found evening meals not so good. Salads and sweets were fine but main courses not so good. Meat was often tough and I often gave up and went for pasta. The BBQ meal was good but the A La Carte not so good. Staff were all very pleasant and very efficient at resetting vacated tables. Did find it a pain to have to book a time every night for dinner and have to use an app to do it! There is a lot of walking needed in this hotel especially if you are in block 2. The lifts are very slow. We noticed several people with walking difficulties struggling to get around. The pool area did not inspire and we were fortunate to get sunbeds in the gardens when we wanted one. Unfortunately there is not enough umbrellas and many were broken. Overall we had an enjoyable holiday and liked Cala D'or but not sure whether we would return to this hotel. I think it needs some work done to it.

This was our 3rd time at the TUI Blue Rocador in 15 months. The main draw for us is the location on Cala Gran and the lovely hard-working staff throughout the hotel from Reception, the bar, cleaning staff and Jose and his amazing team in the restaurant. This time we stayed in room 1432. Although the room and the bed were smaller, the bathroom and the balcony were much bigger. The balcony came with sun loungers, but no parasol. It defeated the benefit of having these there and were left unused during our stay as it was too much in the blazing sunshine. Furthermore, the ceiling in this room needs some attention as it is not the best view when lying in bed! The food options at both breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant were again good, although I personally felt that the quality of many of the cheeses on offer this year was not of the same standard as last year. Many had no flavour at all. We liked the fact that you no longer had to book a timeslot for breakfast and the addition of breakfast on the outside terrace. We preferred to sunbathe in the gardens rather than the poolside as it is more spaced out. Hopefully the cushions on the low rattan sun loungers will have been replaced by next year as they are showing their frequent use from the previous and this year. They also got caught in the rain a few times, so have a damp smell. It would be a nice touch if there was a drinks service offered in the garden area during the day. It would also create more revenue for the hotel. There were many guests who went to get their own from the poolside bar, so evidently there is a demand for this service. One of the other benefits we like about this hotel is the Pilates/Yoga/Stretch classes. Patricia and Daniel provided some great sessions both on the beach and in the sports area by Reception. (It was nice to see Daniel back again from last year.) I am not sure whether it had to do with logistics due to a temporary instructor gap in the fitness team, but many classes that were at the end of the day last year like Pilates/Stretch were in the middle of the heat of the day around 14.00. All in all we had another fantastic stay at the Rocador and look forward to returning in the future.

Lovely hotel that overlooks the beautiful Cala Gran beach which is accessed from the hotel. Food choices were lovely and fresh and the value for money was fantastic. Basic but clean and reasonably modern rooms. Hotel couldn’t be more central and is a minute walk to the shops, bars and restaurants in central Cala d’Or. The hotel was only operating air conditioning between hours of 15:00-23:00 which even when turned on was pretty useless. For October it was hot (high 20’s) and without decent air con the rooms were so stuffy and at times unbearable. I can only assume it is a cost saving measure which is really poor for a company the size of TUI. We had to sleep with the balcony door open which resulted in bites galore the following morning! Only real criticism for what was otherwise a lovely stay.

Enjoyable stay for the first time abroad post-pandemic. Positives: -Affordable - we had a good deal via TUI package holidays. After reading so many good reviews we thought the cost of this holiday inclusive of flight & hotel in peak season was a bargain. -Amazing location. Probably the most central hotel in CalaDor. 1 minute walk to the main area with lots of lovely bars, restaurants and shops. CalaDor is perfect for couples. Marina is a 10-15 minute walk and was our favourite area to visit. -Stunning views of the Cala Gran cove. (From sea view rooms and restaurant) -Lovely well manicured garden area. -Delicious breakfast with wide selection of choices. Negatives: -Poor air conditioning (or no air conditioning maybe?). Really awful in the hotel reception area/lounge, corridors and public areas. Room airconditioning is better at least. -Rooms basic. Spacious however provide very little other than bed, bathroom, balcony. The bed was comfortable and linen changed on request. TV did not work. Desk with mirror and chair, good for getting ready. Small kettle. Mini fridge which wasn’t very cold and only fitted a few small bottles of water. Lovely balcony with sea view. -Bathroom - shower poor. Did not have a good shower the whole week, could not wash my hair properly as the shower pressure was so weak. Majority of the time water was freezing cold, other than first thing in the morning it was boiling hot. Mouldy sealant all around the base. Corroded tap. Cheap hand/body wash provided on the wall, however no amenities that you would expect from a 4/5 star hotel. Towels replaced daily. No face cloths provided - this was the first thing I asked for upon checking in after a day of travelling and was told the hotel does not provide or have face cloths. Every day of our trip we walked round I think every store in the area and there is no where you can even buy a face cloth which we were shocked by… next time I will ensure to remember to pack it as I had to wash my face with a hand towel all week. -Walls are so thin you can hear everything from the room next door. Especially when in the bathroom - can hear the neighbours conversations/taking a shower etc. Doors slamming. -Entertainment not to our taste and definitely not 4/5 star. Quite cheesy and more so suitable for over 50s. But the effort was there. -Pool area small with loungers very close together and not enough umbrellas. My partner had to get up at 7am everyday to get a lounger otherwise they were all gone (which we found out our 1st morning as we walked to breakfast and seen everyone’s towels were already down) -Evening buffet restaurant good. Alacarte - strange menu. We are not fussy eaters but really did not enjoy, especially the strawberry & garlic soup (served cold)… main courses (lamb & salmon) were delicious however rest of the 4 courses we did not eat. BBQ night okay. -Staff friendly enough but didn’t really see many of them other than to say hi or bye in the passing. Unfortunately no ‘stand out’ or ‘above and beyond’ service that I can comment on. All pleasant none the less. It was our first trip away in a few years and so we made the most of the trip regardless of our accommodation. I would rate TUI Blue Rocador 3 stars. Pleasant but not luxurious. I suppose it would depend what you are most looking for. Wouldn’t personally return to this hotel, however would return to CalaDor, and will definitely be returning to the lovely island of Majorca in the near future!
