We had a great time here. Our stay did start off a little rocky. We got in very late and there was a note on the door telling us our room number and giving us a phone number to call if we needed anything, but the room was locked and nobody answered the phone number. Luckily, another guest was in the courtyard and knew which room the live in staff stayed in. It was a bit of a road bump, but it all worked out. I also could not connect to the wi-fi the first night we were there, but it worked perfectly after I let the office know I was having difficulties. The staff more than made up for that rough first night during the rest of our stay. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. They even offered me their own personal hot-spots if I couldn't get the wi-fi going. They gave us lots of linens (I brought my 3 teen daughters, so we go through a lot of towels), they gave us treats for our dog, and we continually received taffy from Pony Tails, a candy store down the road. They gave my youngest a set of markers and a notebook and then did it again when she accidentally sat on her first set in her wet bathing suit. They sell postcards in the lobby cheaper than anywhere else I saw in town, but then insisted that I take some for free. One of the women working there is an artist, and her art is featured on one of the postcards; it was really pretty. The pool was clean, the room was comfy, and the staff always had great recommendations for places to eat. They even had us take home some large seashells that you can hear the ocean in from a bin on one of the picnic tables outside. It is a roadside motel, so adjust your expectation accordingly and you'll have a nice relaxing time. It's also very well located so you can walk to most of the shops and attractions in town. My oldest daughter who is generally a homebody and not into vacationing at all is already talking about taking a road trip and staying here with her friends next year! We really enjoyed our time here and were sad to leave. Thank you so much for a lovely vacation!

One of the last pet friendly motels on Chincoteague Island so you have to take that to heart. Yes, everything is outdated etc. but always clean and for the price what can you expect. We have a diabetic dog who needs twice daily insulin so he has to travel with us. Americas Best on the island is the pits as we stayed there before with our dog. If you want a 5 star motel, get one on mainstreet. Remember, who stays in their room all day anyways?

First of all, they didn't give us the type of room that we reserved because "they leased it out to someone during the winter and they haven't moved out yet". No one was in the office when we checked in, around 4 PM on a Saturday. There was a note on the door to the office that said to go to room 5. We went to room 5 and it was unlocked with the key inside. That was our welcome to the motel. Stains on the beds, stains on the furniture, stains on the pillowcases, even stains on the lamp shades. One of the electrical outlets was deformed/melted and appeared to have been burnt or under a lot of heat at some point. Bathroom was in disrepair. It was so bad that my daughter cried. I am not exaggerating. Stay away.

After checking the reviews on trip advisor, we went w/ the Sea Hawk Motel for our Memorial Day wkend visit. It was a nice little motel, centrally situated (directly xcross the street from a fantastic homemade ice cream place!), clean and fine. The room was good, nice new fridge, seemed clean and well-maintained (if you don't mind a wiggly doorknob or door frame not properly carpentered). We'd definately stay here again. The pool was a nice plus, comfy lounge chairs there, and a lot quieter than the place across the street. Stay away from the food at the Chincoteague Inn - if you stick with the view from the outdoor bar area, you'll be alright, but their food was mediocre at best, and way overpriced (how hard is it to make decent clams casino anyway?). The Sea Hawk was quite good, quiet and well-maintained.

We have stayed here for several years. We first started staying here for the price but we keep coming back because of the great staff and amenities.

Our family and a few others have been coming here for several years now. We always get an efficiency apartment. It is a great convenience. These have recently been redone. Every year we go back something has been updated. There is a little playground for the kids, boat parking, a covered pavilion and charcoal grills for the guests. We have had great impromptu bbqs and there is something for all of us.

It is conveniently located across from one of the ice cream parlors and a few restaurants.

It is definitely a great place to stay!!!!

This motel is from a bygone area. The small family owned motel. The owners were very nice. My nephews aged 7 were very impressed that we could park in front of our room and walk right in. The hotel is centrally located. Many things (Dollar General, Beach store, restaurant) were in walking distance. Plus catch the Pony Express across the street for an island tour. It was a quick 15 minute drive to Assateague Seashore. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. This is not the Hilton nor is it the Bates Motel. Each room has a microwave small fridge and coffee maker. There is a communal ice machine. The pool is an old fashioned cement one that only goes 5ft deep which was perfect for us. There is a play area with swing, jungle gym and see saw. We spent evenings enjoying ice cream on the patio area. The 2 biggest selling points the black dog in the office who is available for a cuddle and it's across the street from the Island Creamery. My nephews are already planning their return trip and since they need a driver I will be there.

Hands down you cannot find a better run motel than the Sea Hawk! The owners are friendly, fair, and keep their property well-maintained. The room was clean and the kitchen in good condition. The location is great for walking to all the delicious ice cream stops and restaurants. I recommend the family friendly Sea Hawk!

My efficiency suite at the Sea Hawk Motel is immaculately clean and very welcoming. There is a full kitchen with everything needed (bring your own corkscrew). A seperate bedroom provides a comfortable queen size bed, side table, clock radio and lamp. The bathroom, like all the rooms, is clean as a whistle. This is like a small apartment in a pleasant environment. It is clear the owners care about this property. I did not have the privilege to meet them. I've cooked all my meals to save money while I am here enjoying the winter birds. I highly recommend staying here. If you prefer the usual hotel with high prices, huge lobby and fancy soaps then stay someplace else. This is simple, and perfect.

Have been to Chncoteague many times, but this was our first stay at the Sea Hawk, and we will stay there again next time.

Had to cut the trip short due to good old Hurricane Irene, but our short stay here was very enjoyable. Our room was nice and clean, no problems at all. It's a family motel, nice and quiet. Pool was clean, our granddaughter loved the playground at the motel as much as she loved the beach...maybe more.

Only problem with this place is it is right across the street from Island Creamery, which makes it way too easy to cross the road to get an ice cream cone every evening, so your stay at the Sea Hawk may ruin your diet.
