When I checked in, there were two front desk people, but only one was actually checking people in. I had to wait while it appeared that the other person wasn't really doing anything. My room was clean and comfortable, no problems there. However, the walls were really thin. I could hear entire conversations through the wall and it wasn't as if they were yelling. I could also hear every word being said on their television. I was lucky that they went to sleep at a reasonable time. If they had been night owls, I would not have been able to sleep. Not sure I would stay here again for that reason alone.
We booked a block of rooms for my son's wedding. The elevator did not work for the entire time we were there (4 days). Housekeeping was marginal. The night of the wedding, Housekeeping did not refresh my room. So no towels when we arrived back to the hotel at midnight. The hotel charges for potential damages and incidentals ahead of time. I have not seen a credit yet since there were no damages or incidentals. NEVER STAY HERE! I am sorry our friends and family had to go through this. I asked for a room away from the busy street. Guess where they put me...right on the street where I could enjoy the truck traffic all night.
A very comfortable stay. Everything is right there.. You have shopping, dining, movies, free parking. Everything is so accessible. For the money, you can't beat the location or the great service! I'd Its literally right off 29 South. Very easy to get there.
I don't know where to start with negatives about this property. The first thing is the entrance is very tricky as regards traffic flow, then I stood in line for 20 minutes to be checked into my room. The room was marginal but smelled old. I understood there was shuttle service but that was a joke, the shuttle driver smirked when I asked about the service, there basically was no service. The final insult was the lobby bar closed at 10:00. I will never stay here again and suggest you do not stay here.
Where to begin with the worst hotel experience of my life. I booked the Holiday Inn for my wedding block for September 2018 then booked five nights before our wedding. They charged $169 a night for the block and messed up just about everything imaginable. First, they only gave us 10 rooms instead of the 20 we requested, even though we had a signed contract sating otherwise. Then, once that got sorted out, our guests couldn't use the online booking feature, resulting in them calling the hotel. We got a unprofessional and terse note from the front desk asking us to stop having our guest call because of "how busy they are" even though that is their job and the link never fully worked. We complained to the hotel and they refused to comp our room (despite us staying 5 nights and filling out the block) but offered a room upgrade and for the kitchen to make us something special. Well, I had to complain the day of check-in for that room upgrade which they resentfully gave us and we got nothing from the kitchen because they forgot. We also had welcome bags that were not given out to guests as they came in. The only bright spot was our booking hotel block contact Madalyn who did the best she could but even she couldn't get the hotel straightened out. She was the only one that actually cares in the whole organization.
It should also be noted that the hotel itself is starting to really show its age - musty smells in the room, peeling paint and spotty carpets, and the worst service I have ever seen. The breakfast is not included and I don't recommend eating there anyway. I will never be back and I am telling everyone I can to stay far, far away.
