It's not fancy, but the AC didn't work. At 2am we couldn't stand the heat any more. Receptionist was rude and non apologetic. Terrible service. Had to go retrieve a box fan even tho two staffed the front desk. Asked for her name to report the nastiness "do I look like roomservice?" To management. She refused. She said she was training this other person. So beware. Looks like night staff isn't trained in how to deal politely w customers.
We've stayed here periodically over the past decade, but today was the final straw. We booked the room because our water line is getting repaired so there's no water in our home right now. My 8-year-old daughter and husband were with me, and my daughter was excited to go swimming and have a staycation. She even brought her teddy bear along. As we're entering the building there was several staff at the front counter, but nobody stopped us to tell us that there was an issue. We were on the second floor so we took the elevator upstairs. I was the first person out of the elevator and I noticed that there was a man passed out blocking the entire hallway. I quickly shuffled my daughter back into the elevator because I could see part of his genitals because his pants were hanging off of him. I am horrified! I cannot believe that this hotel has gone this downhill, and I would not recommend that anyone stay here unless maybe you're homeless or on drugs. I came downstairs immediately and asked for a refund. The front desk agent gave me the manager's card. I'm sorry, but when you have a guest who just had to see some stranger's genitals, maybe be a bit more accommodating. I called the third party booking site, hotels.com, and they are trying to kick it back to the hotel. I'm just glad I was the first one out of the elevator and not my 8-year-old daughter. This is absolutely horrendous and I would like someone to call me when they read this and let me know why I was not given a refund this evening. Just in case you think I'm fibbing. Here's a pic. Also, this was taken after when I went upstairs for evidence because I'm so concerned that I will never get a refund. The person had rolled over by the time I went back up to take a picture. Don't stay here, it is creepy and unsafe.…
My wife and I were very pleased with this hotel. The check in process was quick and efficient and the front desk person friendly. Our king bed room was clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The room was a good size with a sitting area (love seat, chair, and coffee table) separated from the bed area by a half wall. The only downside to the room was the switch for the light and fan in the bathroom was on the wall outside the bathroom so you had to turn it on before going in, meaning you'd wake up your roommate if using the bathroom during the night. The breakfast was average: cereals, pre-made eggs, bagels, etc Could have used some fresh fruit and containers of yogurt. We would definitely stay here again.
I stayed at the Crystal Inn in West Valley City. It is near Salt Lake City. I like that the pool and the hot tub were open. The pool and hot tub were warm! I also liked that they had good breakfast and good TV channels. The beds were comfy. There isn’t anything I didn’t like about this hotel. I rated it 5 stars. I would definitely stay here again!
We were a little put off by this not being a national chain, but once we entered and had our first encounter with the staff and the ease of check in we were relieved. Our room was clean and roomy. The grandkids loved the pool and the fact that they could get a snack from the little market store there. They may not be a national chain but they went beyond our expectations. We found out that they do have a few in Utah and we will recommend this establishment to all. The pics we took and sent back home has made our kids want to come stay and explore!
