Upon entering the room…you could smell sewer odors. Indicated to the front desk - they said they would notify maintenance…no reference to move to another room. I ended up locating the source…shower drain. I covered up the drain with a towel turned on the bathroom fan…shut both doors. The smell did subside. Also…entered the bedroom when arrived…a dirty q-tip was at the base of the bed. Now I get overlooked items…but it was in plain view? Home 2 Suites prides itself on cleanliness….signs all over the room….really need to address these obvious encountered issues.
Nice stay. Friendly staff. Good location in a nice area. Room was good. Had refrigerator, microwave & kitchenette. Breakfast was abbreviated with cereal, bananas, packaged bagels, packaged muffins, instant oatmeal, gross microwaveable breakfast burrito. You go to an Embassy Suite or others and you get real hot/warm food, but others are still doing this COVID thing. Seems like an ongoing thing for most hotels. Like when I go to a Kroger (King Soopers, Smith’s) and they tell me that they cannot get a product due to COVID and then I go to Walmart or Harmon’s or whenever and they consistently have the product. Just an excuse to keep their bar low.
Reservation system defaulted to day of booking and number of guests. I tried to discuss the issue with the manager but was repeatedly (for two hours) given different reasons why he could not talk to me. The issue was never resolved because Hilton Customer Service sends the complaint to the hotel where the problem occured.
I stayed here for a week in March and enjoyed it very much. My room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was basic but good. Free laundry facilities. Typical hotel gym and pool. Friendly employees. Plenty of parking and lots of restaurants close by. I would definitely stay again.
Bathroom smell every day coming back was nasty. Daily breakfast was not great - green hard bananas every morning. Coffee was pretty good. Front desk supervisor was not empowered to make a decision to make me feel like I was heard about my complaint.
