I stayed here on the recommendation of fellow TripAdvisorites and I wish I could thank each one of them personally for putting me on to this place. The rooms was clean, quiet, and, for the price of the room, well appointed. A more than sufficient breakfast is included in the room rate. Two great restaurants (Players and Cracker Barrel) are within walking distance. And so is the St George conference center.

I found out that most rooms only come with a shower, a few rooms come with a bathtub - so be sure to make that special request.

Real easy on and off I-15 at exit 6, but you don't hear the traffic.

A great place with real value

We looked at probably 10 different hotels here in St. George and couldn't really find a decent inexpensive place. By checking out trip advisor, this currently ranked #7. So we gave them a call and got a good rate for a friday night. It was the same price as Motel 6 and Days Inn (both looked horrible). So here's the list of pros and cons, but in general we were pleased.

Pros
Away from contruction (lots of work being done on the other side of town).
Close to the freeway
Good breakfast, clean and friendly service.
Free Wifi (writing my review on their network)
Big showers
Nice pool and hot tub
AC worked great

Cons
Some stations on TV sound horrible for some reason (maybe just our room)
Tap water lukewarm, but they have an ice machine to chill it
No tub, just the shower

We were travelling from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City and needed just a basic place to stay for one night and found the Ambassador through TripAdvisor..natch! We are familiar with St George and had stayed at another comparable place last year, but the Ambassador really raises the bar for a mid-range motel. It is located right next to the freeway and there is nothing within walking distance really, but that is about the only quibble I have with this motel. The room was spotless , nothing fancy but very comfortable and safe, we were on the side away from the freeway so had no problem with noise at all. The breakfast is very good for a free continental style and has scrambled eggs and lattes aside form the usual fare of cereals and muffins. The bed was very comfortable and the pool was lovely, so if all you want is a pleasant place to stay and don't want to pay a couple of hundred dollars, then stay here for only $54...why on earth wouldn't you?

Looking for a stop-over on our way from California to Wawheap Marina, Lake Powell, Utah. Read the Trip-Advisor reviews and it sounded all good to us. So I called and booked our room. We must all concur that we were definiely extremely pleased with everything! We were so taken with the hospitality, ease, cleanliness, price, breakfast, etc., that we showed up on our way back and stayed again! I was so happy they had room for us. There was a large tour bus parked in the lot, as well, so was glad we could join them for another night. When I got back, they had even called to say they found a top in the room and described it, saying they would mail it to us....Wow! That has never happened before in my life! And I have lost a few things in hotels over the years.... Stay here -- crazy not to do so!

After leaving the St. George Days Inn in disgust (read my review, "Would you pay $10 to use the John?"), my husband and I found the Ambassador Inn, which we were told is a "sister hotel" to the Hampton Inn. The Ambassador Inn is not fancy, but it is clean with modern amenities, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is satisfying, with enough variety to accommodate most people. We really loved the fact that we could have a refrigerator and microwave in our room for no extra cost (saved us from having to eat out at restaurants for every meal during our four-night stay). We also enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tub, which were both well maintained. This hotel is quiet and low-key, and we felt like the service we received was above average for the price we paid. The Ambassador Inn is our hotel every time we stay in St. George now. Our experience there is always pleasant and relaxing.

The room was small but clean. It was a quiet motel even though it was full several nights (we stayed there 5 nights). The front desk staff was helpful and the breakfast was adequate. We had no complaints about our stay there----especially for the price! We were there in March---I don't know if the rates go up later in the season........

I've stayed here on several occasions now when traveling with my dog. Their prices are very competitive, the rooms are clean and have everything one could need. The breakfast is much better than most & the staff has always been terrific! The location is very convenient to the Hwy and to several restaurants (within walking distance). The grounds have a nice pool and lots of areas for the dog! Definitely recommend The Ambassador Inn!!!

Booked this hotel because it was the only room I could find. The hole city was sold out all the major brands were booked. The price was so low here that I was concerned about my confront. But the reviews looked good.
Who ever owns this place has to be as type A as you can get the place is spotless. There isn't any deferred maintenance or dirt to be found.
Some one takes pride in this place and it shows.

Oh ya the beds are comfy the towels are plush.

Great hotel well done.

I chose this inn while on a road trip with my boyfriend a few nights ago. We were exhausted from an 8 hour drive and needed a simple, cozy, dog-friendly hotel. Because of the high ratings on Tripadvisor, we chose the Ambassador.
It was such a disappointment. We were charged $150 which included the pet fee. The room was so tiny, smaller then many NYC hotels I've stayed in. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been remodeled since 1980. The bed was super uncomfortable. The overhead lighting in the room had the same fluorescent glare as lighting in office buildings. If the room was $80 for the night, I would have understood. I wanted to share this review because this was the first time I chose a hotel from Tripadvisor and felt that the reviews we *so* off.

Linda B asked a question Sept 2014
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Are there hair dryers in each room?
Answer from Richard B
Epsom, United Kingdom93 contributions49 helpful votes
Yes, I'm pretty sure that there are. My wife says that she would remember if there were not dryers provided. We liked this hotel so much that we stayed an extra night. It is in a good location near the interstate but we found it quiet and comfortable. We also likes the breakfast.
