The staff was supper friendly & helpful! Our membership had expired; they got us renewed and applied the discount for our stay! They gave us great directions to the nearest grocery store and were very knowledgeable about the area and things to do. The bath house was awesome with spacious shower stalls and plenty of hot water! I highly recommend this! kOA
Gravel patch for your tent, nice shower block but showers were cold, laundry facilities, wifi was poor. Lots of flies! Right next to the road so pretty noisy. The view was nice, not much else I can say about it
We camped for three nights in a tent. Sites are very close together, but it was too cold to be out at night around the campfire anyway, so it didn't matter that we were hemmed in by RVs. There is a firepit but we didn't use it. The picnic table was wobbly and leveled with rocks. The tent pad was a good size and we got a site with uninterrupted views of the highway and valley. Overall, this place is fine for a few days. It's not pretty or fancy, and there is virtually no shelter (no mature trees), but if you're inside your vehicle/tent then you probably don't care. The best part about it is the proximity to Monument Valley loop (10 mins drive). Pros: • Location, location, location. Only 10 mins to the entrance to the Monument Valley loop and beautiful views of the park from the campsite. Possibility for super sunsets from the campground. • No generators are allowed, woo hoo! RV sites have full hook-ups so there is no generator crime. We only heard heaters/air cons running at night but they were pretty quiet. • Bathroom/showers building looked new almost and was always spotless. I did not use the showers so can't comment on hot water availability or pressure. • All tent sites had power and water. • Except when cars crossed the rumble strips on the nearby highway, this campground was very quiet. No generators are allowed (every RV sited has full hook-ups) which is a nice change. Cons: • The wifi didn't work • There is virtually no shade here (small trees between sites) so I imagine in summer it would be very uncomfortable. • The website is awful –– I inadvertently made two bookings while trying to modify an existing booking, as there is nowhere on the site to view "my bookings" (you can however view your "saved recipes", "saved trips", and "favorite campgrounds" because why wouldn't you want to review saved recipes on a campground site...) This is not the fault of this particular campground BTW, but the corporate site. Nowhere could I find "my bookings". The person in reception generously canceled my second booking without penalty which they didn't have to do, so this was nice. I would stay here again.…
You better not complain about the cold showers or you will face the wrath of the incredibly unfriendly and hatefull woman who apparanty runs this campground. Mocked for not being a native English speaker and told this a campground and not a 5 star hotel
This campground is fine for a few days while exploring Monument Valley, Canyon de Chelly, or other nearby sites. It has basic water, power, sewer. Desert landscaping. It has a small dog run. The gravel sites are close together and fairly level. I did not use the on-site showers so cannot comment. The laundry facilities are clean. However two out of the three washers were out of service. $2 per washer, $2 per dryer. My issue is the three unaltered male dogs roaming through the park. Not sure who they belong to. They were friendly but I have no idea what vaccines, if any, had been given to these dogs. Additionally there is a horse concession on the grounds where you can go for rides in the desert. While that is convenient, it leads to a massive number of flies in the campground. It was difficult sitting outside enjoying the gorgeous weather.…
This is the second time I have stayed in this KOA. First, I would say that the sites are large, showers and bathrooms are nice. However the mens bathroom was very dirty. Unfortunately the washers were broken so we couldn't do ours. They were allowing folks to use the washers in the office but too many people needing to do this. Definitely the views and location are fantastic. The biggest issue is the Internet. The advertisement on Trip Advisor stated, "High Speed Internet and WiFI". ABSOLUTLEY NOT!!! In today's environment Internet and Wifi are essential. I am sure that it is expensive to bring reliable internet in here, but it is a must. I spoke with several individuals while I was there, and they were quite upset about this. The manager Candy was pleasant and did all she could to make our stay a good one.…
I reserved our site in January for our October stay. The reservation was confirmed for a back in site for our 12' teardrop trailer. The printed confirmation states " Your Campsite: Back in, 30/20 Amps, Full Hookups. These smaller sites are perfect for smaller RV's, compact trailers and vans. They can also accommodate tents." As we were in the process of unhooking our teardrop, an office person came and told us we needed to move, that trailers were not allowed on those sites, and they would get in trouble with the tribal government if they allowed it. We pointed out that the description says compact trailers were allowed, and we think a 12' teardrop qualifies. He wasn't having it and made us hook back up and move to a pull through site, in between the giants packed together. I agree the campground views are outstanding, but that is all this KOA has going for it.…
The views are absolutely stunning from this park. It is obvious that the great reviews are because of the views. We called the office twice before booking a spot because we have an extra truck and trailer and we always ask before landing to ensure a place for the extra stuff. We were assured by two different people that it would not be a problem. We also verified through two different people that we would have a 50 amp spot. When we arrived, we were told that there was no room for our extra truck and trailer and that we should have never been told that there was. They accommodated us reluctantly for one night., but they had told us twice that it was ok. Then we plugged into the 50amp breaker in the pedestal, only to find out that it was a 30amp only pedestal. They were full, so there was no way to move, so we ended up not using any power, water or sewer since we were only staying one night. The reason we always call the parks directly is to avoid this type of confusion and it was very frustrating. Also, when we were there, the men’s bathroom was not very clean.…
It's a great location to see wonderful views of Monument Valley. The bathrooms were very clean. I noticed on one review that it said there was a toilet in the same cubicle as the shower but that isn't at all true. The toilets and showers are separate. The sites aren't any more close together than other KOA's I stayed at so I'm not sure what that other person was talking about. There are laundry facilities on site and their is a doggy play area and a playground. The staff in the office were very pleasant and helpful. The Wifi is total crap and the campground is also in a cell phone dead zone. That part is frustrating. Hopefully, they will get enough bad comments about their wifi that they will do something about it in the future - they probably should not even bother saying they have free wifi since most of the time it doesn't work at all.…
This is a good way spot for a night or two while visiting the area. There are no frills… no trees, not to many amenities. But it’s conveniently located to fabulous tours of the area, and have great vistas right from the campground.
