Excellent service, friendly staff, and the room was clean and comfortable. I went there for a conference and found them to be very organized. The only drawback is the freezing temperatures in most of the conference rooms. Bring layers to stay warm.

My fiancé and 4 year old son stayed at your remodeled hotel September 4-7th. Due to Coronavirus, we were told there would be no Valet (there was) or turn down service with cookies and milk for the little ones. (There was). We did have a bit of a wait for breakfast, but it was AMAZING. Those potatoes alone I’ll be dreaming about. I totally understand businesses are understaffed due to coronavirus and people should go in with more understanding and sympathetic to the circumstances we’re in currently. The first night we just chilled, took everything in. The hotels artwork has some interactive properties and was amazing. Also, some beautiful vintage handbags and jewelry. This is a hotel to STAY at. As in, you can relax at the pool all day. They had pool service on Saturday and Sunday. Food and drinks and a really good DJ. A wide variety of music. From 70’s dance to current Rap.
The Omni Houston Hotel has the most lush, beautiful grounds. Watch the swan! Serenity! This place is an escape and I CAN NOT wait to return. 100% - perfect stay!
Also- $20 self parking that is literally steps from the hotels front door is amazing and few and far between in Houston!
2 minutes from some of the best restaurants and things to do in Uptown.
Beautiful remodel guys!

The Omni is comfortable and secluded right off The Loop near The Galleria. We travel to Houston for its fabulous dining scene and it's within close driving distance to many of the best restaurants. We usually stay at The Houstonian and love the warm, clubby atmosphere and good pool and fitness scene there. The rooms at The Omni are quieter, however, as the walls at The H are quite thin. Although it's nice, I wish The Omni had a better pool environment with lusher plants and furnishings for a more festive or beautiful atmosphere-it's a little stark. The gym is small but well supplied.

Overall the hotel is nice in appearance but the customer service is terrible. Made reservation through Hotwire because despite the website guaranteeing low rate, they won't match the rates of similar 3rd party websites. Reserved a 1 bed king however despite confirming this and the reservation "guaranteeing" room/bed type we were told on check in that you "get what you get" when you use another site and we could wait in the lobby until 7pm to see if someone didn't show up and we might get the room we RESERVED. Wait in the lobby for a room I reserved way ahead of time?? "Get what you get", are those appropriate responses? If you don't want the business through other sites then don't offer your rooms through there. Of course this wasn't surprising since when we valeted and told the valet that we would be back down in 1 hour, he said "you should ask about our complimentary shuttle that goes in 3 mile radius because we will have a wedding later and will be very busy so might take a really long time to get your car". So 34 dollars for valet a night and I am told if I want to leave the hotel I should look into the shuttle?? Lastly, ordered room service at 9, hours before they stopped the normal hours service only to be told 3 or the 4 items we tried to order wasn't available.

Again decent looking hotel, clean room, nice bed. The morning breakfast was actually good. The ice machine was in a closet with exposed pipes and some tools and ladders which was weird but hey it worked perfectly fine. I will not stay here again, way too many options in the area to accept this type of service the employees of this hotel offer. The hotel was advertised as a "4.5" star hotel, I would definitely disagree with that and not sure the customer service would allow it to be a 4 star. Save your money and stay elsewhere.

When we arrived at the hotel the staff made us feel rushed as we were checking in. We booked two adjoining rooms but when we got to the hotel we were told that adjoining rooms were not available. We ended up with one facing the parking garage and the other facing the pool. The room facing the pool was smaller and was the same price as the one facing the parking garage. When we got to our room we found that the mini bar was empty and locked. If we wanted to replace it with a mini fridge we would have to pay extra while the room facing the parking garage had a mini fridge, bidet, and large bathtub. I was told that the room facing the pool was a better room because it was facing the pool which didn't make any sense to us because it had less. Some of the staff was really nice and some of the staff just didn't really seem to care. At one point we called the front desk to report that our toilet wasn't flushing to which I was greeted with "Yes!?, oh my god!" then the person hung up on me. The rooms smelled musty and needed to be updated. We also had to call for house keeping to come and clean our room. When we went to check out there was no one available to help us with our luggage so we had to carry everything ourselves. I have stayed at Omni Resorts before and I am a member of the club. This hotel is okay but doesn't deliver the Omni Experience they we are used to. Next time we are going to try another hotel.

Thank you for visiting Omni Houston Hotel and for taking the time to share your feedback. I was disappointed to see that your experience was less than exceptional. Our goal is to provide each and every guest with a first-class, memorable experience and we are sorry we fell short during your stay. It sounds like we blocked you in 2 different room types, because we wanted the rooms to be at least close to each other after we were not able to get them adjoining. I really apologize. We will be sure to refocus our efforts and hope that you will return in the future.

This hotel was ok, the room was nice but the fact that they charge you for parking yourself is ridiculous. It's only 10 dollars more for valet parking so you might as well pay to have your car brought to you and parked for you each time. I was told at check in that the charge for self parking would be validated by using my rook key to enter the parking garage and wouldn't be charged upon check in. Then today I find that my credit card was charged for incidentals that I had to put on file. I called to find out why and was told it was for self parking charges. I asked why when what I was told at check in is that it would be validated and I wouldn't be charged. They said that wasn't policy. I asked should I parachute in if I ever stayed there again, I have never been charged to self park at a hotel before. I have stayed at other hotels that have self parking in parking garages and since I was staying at the hotel the parking was validated and I wasn't charged the posted parking fee. I asked upon check in because the fees were posted. This parking fee to self park when no other options are available are a hidden fee to rip off thier guest. I reccomend only staying here if you fly in and take a taxi or Uber from the airport or want to pay for valet parking as it's only $10 more and your car is fetched and parked for you. Plus they tested the back up power during my stay forcing me and the rest of my group including children to take stairs to and from the seventh floor to the lobby to exit and enter the building since the elevator was out during this test on Monday March 28th. The same day that we had to have a member of our group at MD Anderson cancer center to under go a procedure and was barley able to walk upon return to the hotel. No mention of this test and power outage upon reserving the room so we could have booked elsewhere to avoid it, only upon check in past the point of cancelation of the reservation to avoid a fee. I have stayed at many Omni Hotels in Fort Worth TX, New Orleans French Quarter, New Orleans Buisness District, and New York locations. Never have I payed for parking or had a test interrupt my stay as this experience played out. Never will I stay at an Omni Hotel again, so I will be canceling my Omni Rewards membership too as I won't be using it any longer. This one experience mostly due the parking fee charges have made my mind up. I know times are tough and hotel chains need revenue streams, but hidden parking fees without any other options when paying yo stay at a hotel is beyond ridiculous and a rip off of the customers that have chosen to stay at your Location. I would rather stay at a dump of a hotel then be forced to pay for parking because Omni Hotels found a way to collect more money.

Thank you for responding and letting us know where we fell short on your stay with us. What transpired during your stay with us was not indicative of the service we aim to provide at the Omni Hotels & Resorts. I apologize for the inconvenience your friend had to endure with the electric outage. The front desk department manager has read your review and will train staff with correct verbiage concerning parking. I ask that you give the Omni brand another opportunity to deliver the superior experience you have received in your past stays, as this stay isn't the service our associates strive to deliver.

I am disagreeing with your health policy as my wife and I had a terrible experience at your hotel and we were not taken serious by the staff.
We woke up after the first night and we were covered by this terrible smell coming from the linen. Our bodies, hair, faces smelled horrible (the closest thing I could describe is perhaps the stinch of dirty feet) so I immediately called the Front Desk and told them about it. I was told they will have House Keeping make sure the room is clean. After the call, we undressed the entire bed and placed all the linens by the front closet, we realized the smell was coming from the pillows themselves, so on our way out we notified the Front Desk staff to please “replace” the pillows AND that we did NOT want those same pillows. The lady at the Front Desk seemed horrified and assured us that she will have have House Keeping take care of that.
Later that day, we come back to the same pillows, we verified because the stink persisted, I am not even sure if they replaced any of the rest of the linen and just made the bed again. I proceeded to call the Front Desk and asked for the Manager on Duty who came to the room, apologized and took the pillows. Minutes later House Keeping dropped off 4 small pillows and not the regular size that they removed.
This experience was not something I expected from this hotel. I’m very disappointed for the lack of concern towards the guests.

I'm writing this review prior to my stay just because of the issues I'm already encountering. Since I'm in town for a wedding, the hosting couple stated we were getting a special rate because they had made accommodations with the hotel and provided us the hotel link to use to get that rate. So I make my choice and reserve the room a month in advance. I was supposed to stay 2 nights but the week of the wedding, 3-4 days before, I needed to make a change from 2 nights to one. The lady gives me the total for the change which was practically the same as my total for 2 nights. I asked her if that was due to making a change and she said no. After placing me on hold she states it was an error and there was probably a malfunction and i was given the wrong rate. She apologized and that was it. No offer to make it right or honor the price I got online on their own link. This was not booked at any other 3rd party site. I told her I had the confirmation with the different amount and she just said it was wrong and that was it. So because of some error on their side they're not honoring their price. Beware of any prices listed because if their site 'malfunctions' you'll get whatever rate they tell you it's supposed to be and an apology.

Not typical of Omni Hotels. No bellman to help us. Rude gentlemen checked us in. Lobby and pool area are beautiful. Rooms are very old and very tired. Mold and mildew in the shower. Had to call twice for a bath mat. Room not cleaned until late afternoon the first day and not cleaned at all the second day. Had a suite. Doors on bedroom are glass and light from living room enters bedroom because curtains on door are transparent. We came for a wedding and made the best of it, but I wouldn't come back/

I would give this hotel an average rating because the staff were exceptionally friendly and gave great service. My husband and I have traveled a lot - even internationally and were looking for a hotel w a spa so I saw the great price they were giving and while we have stayed and 4 and 5 star hotels before but never at an Omni so I thought it would be nice to try it out so we just booked it.

I was disappointed though that upon arrival I found out we had to pay $24/day for parking, the room had no microwave or refrigerator, outsiders can pay to use the pool and spa facilities, and you can't use the hot tub even if you are paying for a room unless you get a spa service or pay an additional $40. It wasn't a problem for me because I got a facial but i could only use the hot tub that day, not the follow day that we stayed also.

Honestly while the staff are friendly and accommodating i just think that charging customers for amenities that most hotels let them use is poor policy. I don't think we will be staying at an omni again.
