The Houston Marriott Medical Center/Museum District is lauded for its spacious and immaculate rooms, with guests frequently praising the hotel's overall cleanliness and comfortable atmosphere. While most visitors enjoy the top-notch service and personal touches from the staff, some have pointed out the air conditioning and allergen issues in rooms. The M Lounge is particularly celebrated, though a few travelers note occasional amenity closures. The hotel's location is a major draw, offering easy access to medical centers and attractions, but the additional fees for services like parking and Wi-Fi are sometimes seen as steep.

Marriott Medical Center Houston

My wife and I started our stay at this hotel on July 17, 2024 in preparation for a surgical procedure. We had planned a 6 day stay which has now been extended to at least 17 days for post-operative therapy.

We needed to extend and upgrade the room during a high occupancy time. I met with several folks at the Front Desk and explained my needs. I was pleased by their empathy and willingness to work with us to insure our comfort and safety. I would like to commend Regina, Jordan and Patricia for going over and above to make these changes quickly and make us feel like we mattered!

Also the staff at the M lounge are exceptional. Kudos to Maraceli for always knowing our names and treating us like family.

It’s obvious that this hotel is run by managers who place a high value on customer service and have selected and trained great associates to carry out their vision of what a Marriott should be.

Many thanks! I highly recommend the Marriott Medical Center Houston if you are staying in the area

We’ve been staying at this hotel every few months for our visits to Houston for almost 2 years. The staff makes us feel like we are coming home…especially the restaurant staff. They always remember us. The housekeeping staff like Lucretia is very attentive to every need. The people here are what make this a choice hotel.

The hotel is well-run and comfortable. The standout is the Lounge for Marriott members. We loved breakfast there. Eggs, bacon, yogurt, fruit, smoked salmon, bagels, etc. are from the buffet next door, and beverages, snacks, and other things are in the Lounge itself. Maraceli, the woman who single-handedly staffs the mornings, is amazing: efficient, kind, attentive to everyone, not intrusive but always making sure everyone has what they need. Because of its location, this hotel serves not just people on business or at conferences but also patients and family who are in Houston for the cluster of famous hospitals within walking distance of the hotel or, when it's beastly hot, a short trip by hotel shuttle (which also has good staff). Maraceli makes everyone feel better!

My husband is a patient at MD Anderson and it was recommended that we stay at this Marriot. We’d had a long day of travel and arrived at hotel late. The room cost was quite high, so my expectations were also quite high. But much to my disappointment the room did not meet expectations. It was a regular room with nice bedding, but had neither a refrigerator or a microwave, which surprised me. Cheap hotels often have those in a room! We often bring food from a restaurant, put leftovers in fridge and heat later in microwave. Could not do that, nor could we put a coke or desert in fridge for later. We looked at the restaurants menu, but was ridiculously expensive. I always order a pot of coffee for the morning to my room, but that wasn’t available. Overall, the cost of the room was absurdly expensive, especially in light of what the hotel did not offer. We took the shuttle to the hospital the next am and waited 45 min. Shifts were changing and the driver was late and hence we were late to our appointment. I will not stay here again.

My wife and I stayed at the Mariot on Fannin in the Medical district. She was having a procedure at the Fondren Center. The good things, Hotel is beautiful, rooms were spacious and very clean, beds were comfortable, and it was five minutes from our destination. But the bad: Parking, We checked it, went up and changed clothes,
and went out to eat. That cost $7. When we checked out early the next morning, it was another $15, for a total of $22. Air conditioner. The room was warm at 76 degrees when we checked in. I set the thermostat at 67 degrees. It never got that cold. The coldest it got was 69 degrees, sometime after midnight. WiFi. After we settled in, we tried to sign in to the Hotel WiFi, but it was $14.99 per day! If you join the Mariot club, and purchase the room through their app, you get access to free WiFi in your room. But paying close to $200 a night is not enough for WiFi in your room. Pool/Spa. We thought we might want to take a dip in their indoor pool after supper, but found out after we checked in the Pool was closed. For a Four Star hotel, we were hoping for much more.

I stayed at this hotel specifically to try a Pure room which is supposed to be a hypoallergenic solution for those with environmental allergies. The first room I had was a suite I was upgraded to. The floors were so dirty throughout but most notable were the toenail clippings left beside the bed!

While the room had a fancy air purifier, it did not have any other elements that met the needs I have with environmental allergies. For instance, the room had carpet which harbours dust and allergens. The bedding did have the Pure label on it but the detergent used to wash the sheets was not hypoallergenic. The air conditioning also did not work in this room and the temperature would not go below 73 degrees.

I was moved to a smaller room after no sleep the first night. The second room had AC that worked and seemed to be much cleaner.

I was hopeful the Pure room would be amazing but it lacks the checks and balances for what a hypoallergenic room is. It’s not just adding an air purifier to the room but also making sure other allergens are removed like dust and other people’s toe nails.

I stayed here to try it out and had an hour commute to our office. Id try another hotel next time. I also was not offered any type of compensation for the inconvenience. They did offer nice chocolates upon checkin for Ambassador members.

So to start I tried calling the hotel at least ten times on May 10 the day of my arrival. The call would get disconnected when asking to connect to front desk or option 5. Eventually got thru and was ask to hold. Waited 9 min hung up and called back and got someone. Arrived at hotel late in the evening went to room. Tried to shower and the hand wand leaks profusely. Went to ice machine in floor 26 and it does not work. Went to the club lounge at 837 am and everything put away. My fault. So went to restaurant stood alone waiting for reception. Finally a waitress focusing on a bill asked how many I said 1 maybe 2 she said ok. Went back to working on her bill, then the waitress wakes away saying she would tell the hostess. The hostess comes back 2 min later asked how many I tell her and she says follow me. I do she sits me down and walks away comes back 3 min later to clean the crumbs on junk from the previous diner. As a titanium member and someone who picked this hotel to hold a group meeting I am very unimpressed. Two more days to go so we will se how it continues.

The MClub has ample space and it is kept squeaky clean. The food and beverage options are very good for breakfast and for a healthy snack throughout the day. What’s even better is the service from the friendly and attentive staff. Of particular note, Ms. Maraceli is especially positive and proactive. She greets you with a smile and guides you where to sit and where all the food is. By the time you come back to sit down, she has a table set up for you with silverware and water without being asked to do so. I watched her do the same with everyone coming in the door. Amazing customer service attitude!!!!!

I arrived with my children almost at midnight, at reception were two people of whom only one worked the woman, after a moment in line I was attended by Jhon who after asking me for the documents and while asking him to enter my member code Marriott completely ignored me to interrupt me and attend to a young man who had not lined up while I kept waiting for him to give me the reserved room. Completely an act of misogyny and sexism could even say racism by excluding me from attention and good treatment as a female and other client. When I complained to Mr. about the rudeness, Mrs. Ashley Jean Blaise, room operations assistant, approached me, complained about her partner and the mistreatment received, so she ended up attending my admission.
I must indicate that despite the bad weather at no time did this John show any respect for the racist misogynistic act towards me.
Hopefully they will take action in a society that assumes gender equality and social equity, considering that the hotel was not giving away the room, but that I was paying for the mistreatment of that Mr.

Overall, we were very happy with our stay at this hotel - it was 4.5 out of 5 stars. There was a bit of miscommunication about our early check-in request so that was a little frustrating but Angie did try to get us in early. As a platinum member, I was upgraded to an executive suite so that was a nice surprise. All of the staff we met were very friendly. We appreciated Maraceli and Roxie in the M Club lounge for taking care of us during our visit. They were both very sweet and welcoming!

The executive suites are near the elevators but the noise wasn’t too bad. They also have connecting doors to other rooms on both sides, so that’s something to be aware of.

The bathroom was a little tight, especially when trying to close the door to the shower and toilet. But there was plenty of counter space so that was a plus. The room also has a mini fridge, microwave and bar sink so that was a bonus.

The M Club Lounge covered most of our meals - daily buffet breakfast, afternoon hors d’oeuvres and evening dessert.

Would definitely stay here again.

Note: The parking situation is a little dicey — the spaces are *really* tight. If you have an SUV you might want to make sure your car is under the height limit. The garage is shared with the hospital next door. It’s $15/day for self Park but that’s not in/out privileges.
