My stay at the Doubletree was absolutely phenomenal and truthfully I would like to thank the front desk representative Mariam for speaking my language, explaining all the expectations, assisting me with the checking in and checking out, and finally checking on me regularly for any additional assistance I may need due to my limitations in a city I am unfamiliar with. Mariam is a true asset and I cannot thank management enough for making her available to help people like me in a large city like Houston. Thank you Mariam and thank you Doubletree for everything. I will be back next month and will always stay here everytime I come to Houston.

We arrived to the Double Tree earlier than expected with our flight and we were warmly greeted by Tamyra the Front Office Supervisor. The way she made sure to make eye contact, we felt like we are at home. She assisted with us by allowing us to check in early and had a room specifically cleaned out for our stay to get in the room quicker. The next morning we woke up for breakfast as they have an awesome full bar of fresh hot breakfast items fruit etc. we didn't realize we did not chose the breakfast included option but the sweetest lady named Universe who was at the hostess stand advised it was ok and as we were Hilton Honors Reward members that we would be allowed to get the breakfast and she would comp it for us. We were highly impressed with the selection pancakes eggs potatoes bacon sausage fresh fruit bread oatmeal the list goes on. You know how some hotels only have a few options for you but this hotel had every possible option. Then Tamyra came down to the breakfast area and made sure we were ok after our night sleep - and her energy just lit up the room. I have to commend who ever was in the hiring process for Tamyra and Universe because I would double their salary and promote both of them if I had my own business. Those two woman alone show a reflection of the amazing service you are going to receive while staying at the DoubleTree Hilton Galleria. I truly believe this Hilton specifically has the best Front Office Supervisor no money could buy because her customer service management skills supersede any standards. Please know its because of those two women's service received i felt obligated to share to the world. Make sure to stop by the Doubletree Hilton in Houston to have the BEST experience money can buy and for a nice rate too!!!!

My stay at this hotel was the most comforting and enjoyable stays I ever had in all of my many Hilton stays. The manager Tamayra is an angel sent from above with such welcoming and caring energy, staff member Brittney only followed her up with my next visit to the front desk. Maintenance on sunday was very helpfull, parking team was so pleasant AND the young lady bartending sunday 2/18 mid day astounded every guest seated, with her smile and energy. By far a 10 out of 10 stay, Thank you staff Double Tree Houston Galleria.

The swimming pool was filthy, and people were unwell after swimming. There was no manager onsite who was in charge and could close the pool down. Two groups of people used intimidating behaviour to bully others. The kitchen units are dreadful, and no kitchen equipment is supplied. You need to ask for a kit, which arrives with poor quality and quantity of things. There is no dishwashing powder for the dishwasher, no plug for the sink and no dishwashing liquid. It was poor on several levels. No essential milk is supplied in rooms for coffee or tea. The promised free shuttle worked some days, but other days could not work because of staffing shortages. The staff on the desk were doing a great job, but there was no person in charge of the overall hotel, so there was no one with authority or responsibility to fix things like the shuttle or the pool. The towels were left everywhere, even around the pool, and giant cockroaches were everywhere. There was no shower, encouraging people to wash before entering the pool.
Honestly, I would not recommend this as a hotel at all.

I stayed at this property in early December 2021. The room is very spacious but it is dated.. The kitchen needs remodeling and the bathroom only has a bath tub with a shower inside of it. This is a one bedroom suite that is very large. Due to mobility issues I requested an ADA suite but they were unable to accommodate me because they don’t have a king bed ADA suite in this property. Remodeling the bathroom with a modern shower would have remedied my ADA needs. Upon check-in the hostess was very short and unaccommodating. When I asked about the perks from my rewards she quickly told me that I booked through Expedia and would not be getting a bottle of water. I explained to her that I booked through my American Express and was unaware that this would void my honors points. Reluctantly she gave us two bottles of water and two cookies and a half assed thank you for staying at the property.

Once we got into the room and realized there was an issue with the bathroom we contacted the hotel Front desk who explained to us they would switch our room the next morning. When we went to the front desk the next morning we were told there is no bed type like what we have in the entire property. Now the night before there were cars doing donuts at the neighboring property screeching noises up and down the streets which made it very difficult to just sit back and relax I know the hotel doesn’t have any control over that but it’s just not expected in that particular location. To add insult to injury our room was not clean when we returned from a day out on the town. We were advised that we must request room service the day before. We requested room service every day when we checked in originally. Additionally inside the room the toilet flushes and makes a loud noise for at least a minute or so until it finishes its cycle. The handle on the spout in the shower was loose. And in the kitchen the hot water was on the cold water side and the cold water was on the hot water side.

The concierge contacted us and asked us how can they make up for the mishaps and our accommodations but never responded when we advised them that they could comp our stay. We returned a call to the front desk asking for assistance and somehow the front desk clerk put us off and transferred us over to the Wi-Fi clerk without advising us that that is where she was transferring our call so after explaining our entire experience to the wrong person we were then referred back to the front desk manager. In the meantime and in between time we got a visitor from a roach in the bathroom. We immediately advised them they needed to fumigate our room clean the room and discuss with us options for the remaining part of our stay. This is by no way a five star location it is not a four-star location at best it is three stars with a $35 per day valet parking fee so be ready to spend a lot for a little. The simple things matter. Offet great customer service, be empathetic, and listen to your guest and that will upgrade your property and it’s star review quickly .

This hotel was very disappointing. The room was not well kept, and extremely unsafe. The adjoining door between rooms did not have a deadbolt, only a small safety latch, which still would allow someone to open the door. The smoke alarm had been removed and only the exposed wires remained. While those two issues were enough to make u leave immediately, the front desk initially offered us an upgrade for $45, and then at check out (10 minutes after we checked in) another room. I let them know I would not stay at a hotel that would even consider renting a room with obvious safety issues.

The hotel is in a good location. The rooms are old, with issues like burnt carpeting, crumbling ceiling tiles, and mattresses that are so old that they are very uncomfortable. But the rooms are clean despite this and the staff are friendly at check-in......but I found an additional charge to my credit card several weeks after my stay. I called and the hotel front desk admitted that they had charged the wrong room for a meal (first telling me I ordered food, but when I denied this they 'discovered' their error). Why this charge was placed several weeks after my stay....well that's a different, suspicious story.

But the really offensive things was that despite their mistake, they told me I had to call back to speak to their accounting office to fix this issue. Of course, every time I call back there is no answer. Calling the 'national' customer service is of no help either. They just say, every time I call, that someone will get back to me.

This is madness!!!! They will charge you money incorrectly, admit it, and then not return your money.

All I can tell any future guest is don't be a future guest. However much money you may save over another hotel, however much better the location may be over another hotel, don't stay here. Instead, pay more for a different hotel that won't take your money later. Or stay at a hotel that has a worse location but won't take your money later.

Shame on Doubletree. You've lost a customer forever. And I hope other potential customers learn from my experience and don't become your customer either.

We stayed at this hotel over the past weekend. The service by Miriam at check in was very good. She was efficient and helped orient us to the hotel. Upon arrival, the one bedroom suite had a mild bad odor, no hot water, light out in bathroom/bedroom entry and the furnishings were extremely worn. We thought we would give the room a chance. After no hot water again, we decided to see if we could be moved to a more updated room in better condition. Julian helped us change rooms. He was extremely helpful providing excellent service. Unfortunately, all of the one bedroom suites were outdated. So, we took a "Deluxe" King room which was inconvenient, but better. The only issue with the room was outdated/worn furnishings (this was typical of the common areas as well...saw ripped furniture outside the "restaurant") and didn't have the separate bedroom (preferred due to our sleeping habits). I did have to ask for a room cost adjustment to reflect the lower cost room. Although, the bill was not adjusted as indicated. I noticed it after looking more closely at the bill after leaving. I was more focused on correcting the duplicate parking fee at the time of checkout. The breakfast was also lacking and disappointing. The quality and variety was similar to a Hampton Inn which is free compared to $25. I normally stay at Hilton properties, but may need to rethink it. Bottomline: Property not just rooms needs updating badly, yet service was very good. Property does not meet the typical Hilton standard.

Just wondering what kind of service this hotel is offering. They checked me out even though I never requested to check out. During my checked in time, I already told the front desk person that I will extend my booking till Friday July 26th. However, you guys just checked me out and removed my personal belongings and food items from the hotel room. It was completely a mess.
Due to that I lost my personal belonging worth of $ 200.00. I was shocked by that.
Due to that issue, the front desk manager, offered me a free meal from the hotel restaurant and Hilton honors point 20,000. However, hotel still charged for that free meal. What a hilarious? Still I haven’t received any Hilton honors point to my account.
Internet was included with my room booking, still they charge for the first night internet. I will avoid the hotel for any cost in future.

Perfectly adequate Doubletree in a good Galleria location. On the plus side, spacious rooms. Building seems to be undergoing a much needed renovation, floor by floor as is usually the process with hotels. Check in staff very friendly. Not much around there is walkable, but that's true for most of Houston. Opportunities for improvement: the breakfast situation is whack - you'll be getting essentially the same as a free Hampton Inn breakfast, except that they will charge you $23 for it. Not worth it, because not only is it just whatever you might get at a Hampton Inn, the thing is a mess. These are actual photos at 0820 on 091724 - during the heart of the breakfast rush, the counters look like a tornado hit and they were also out of many basics. As long as you are getting a decent rate at this hotel then it's fine, but plan to breakfast offsite which is what I had to do after morning 1 of a three night stay.

The current GM seems to be on top of things. The rooms are priced very competitively as the are building trust. I would give them another chance, I plan to stay there again.
