I really loved staying at Granduca! Yes, I only gave it 4 stars because the furnishings were pretty tired and worn, however, the place was super clean! We stayed the 4th July weekend and it seemed like we were one of about 5 guest rooms that occupied the place. On the 4th of July we were almost the only people at the pool. It was great to practically have the place to ourselves.
We ate breakfast one morning and it was very good!! All of the food was fresh and we had a delicious pot of coffee. Everything that we ordered from the bar was well balanced and refreshing. By the pool I had Aperol Spritz’s and they were perfect! They offer a yummy watermelon caprese and a very good fruit cup. The bartenders and servers were all super friendly. We stayed in a suite that had a kitchenette. We didn’t need/use it but it was nice to have a refrigerator for some bottled water.
I was a bit disappointed that when my husband went down to the breakfast area he ordered a pot of coffee to take to the room but he was told there were not enough coffee pots to take one to the room. I thought that was interesting because as I said occupancy was super low. There were only about 5 cars in the parking lot.

This is only the first day of an indefinite stay here at Hotel Granduca due to our local loss of power from Hurricane Beryl. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the hotel and the management and staff so far. This is a very tense time with most guests surely feeling frazzled, but everyone has had a smile on their face and been welcoming at every turn. I’m surprised at how professional the whole place is given this is a random Monday when they are surely inundated with a slew of last minute guests/families/pets that could not have been anticipated. Special shoutout to the exceptional valet attendants who were courteous and patient with multiple last minute guests arriving- couldn’t have been nicer. Check in was also seamless and professional. Manager seems very present and continually checking on guests. Bar/dining staff was working hard to make sure everyone was looked after. Truly an old school service vibe in a big city of big corporate hotels.

The hotel is wonderful. We were helped by Margarita at the front desk who made sure we had help with everything we needed.
The setting is beautiful, and the food and drink served by the bar and restaurant are first class. Will be back again.

Super overpriced for how it looks and what it delivers. For over $750 per night I was expecting someone to help me carry my luggage up to the room but had to do it myself. Hotel looks old. Food was mediocre and fees were absurdly expensive $62 for a burger brought to the room. Hotel has a dark mustard like color on walls of rooms and lobby which makes it depressive. Very small hotel with very small outdoor area and small pool. I was told my room was just cleaned but there was hair and dust everywhere. Great location but there are much better hotels in the area. The Granduca is pet friendly so this is a plus. Front desk receptionist had no charisma or warmth. It was like talking to a robot and she was not helpful. Overall it was mediocre, overpriced, limited food options, and boring. Unless you are here for the location since it is a walking distance from many shops, restaurants, grocery stores etc.. I do not recommend.

We have stayed at this hotel over the years when we needed an high end place while our home was being repaired. Until this weekend, it had been several years since we needed a place to stay under those circumstances.

The hotel states on its website states the rooms have been “refurbished”. The room we stayed in was not. The furniture was worn. The wood on side tables and chairs was chipped. The upholstered chairs were dirty. The carpet had a large cigarette burn the size of a quarter. The door to the room was no longer flush and barely closed to lock.

What happened here? The only refurbishment appeared to be the first floor which was under construction. As a result, there is no restaurant service which in fairness, is on the website.

We are members of the Leading Hotels of America group of which this hotel is a member. A continental breakfast is included in the rate since we went through the LHW website.

With no restaurant open on the premises, the continental breakfast included in the LHW rate consisted of two small pastries and coffee! My husband commented one could do better at a one star $99 a night hotel!

And to top it off - even though my husband parked our car on the side of the hotel himself, including putting the parking permit on which required a second trip, we were charged $29 for the privilege! If I were running this tired, worn down place with no restaurant, I think I would have waived that fee upon request. But I was told “that is the rate we charge for self-parking.”

If we were staying more than one night, we would have left upon seeing the room. And did I mention, the one night as described above was $545.00?

If you decide to stay here after reading the above, you have been warned!

Have stayed here a bunch of times. Big rooms. Formerly a lovely lobby, bar, gym and pool area. Not at the moment.

They are renovating. The first disclosure of those renovations came by email literally minutes after the reservation became nonrefundable. It implied that the renovations primarily affected the restaurant and that the common areas may have some minor noise during business hours.

That disclosure understated the scope and imposition caused by the renovations significantly. It was a terrible stay.

Drills and hammering began each morning at 6:45 am (well before business hours). There is no lobby. The pool area cannot be accessed from the hotel. You need to walk around the parking lot, through construction. Once there, workers were hauling construction materials and sawing wood, etc. right next to the pool deck. I lasted 15 minutes before being chased away by the noise. The hammering noises in the room went on much of the day.

The worst is that they didn’t disclose it until it was too late to cancel (and even then it was inadequately disclosed) and they still are charging unknowing suckers the same rates, as though it’s currently a five star hotel.

Very bad. I’m so tired from not getting to sleep.

This was a best a 1 star hotel for 400.00 a night. Hotel rooms were not cleaned and sheets were dirty. We watched the housekeeping take a dirty glass out of the sink and dry with a used towel. It takes 2-3 calls for the front desk to answer. If there is an emergency, the chances of getting help are slim. They do not have help or service. They apologize but, NEVER fix the issue. TV and internet do not work. They really do not care. The lack of cleanliness is dangerous for the Public. They did not even offer to reduce the room charge. Parking was also a mess. If a room was free, I would pass!

My family arrived early and were told our room wasn’t ready and they would have housekeeping work on it. One hour later we were told the same thing. Fast forward 3 hours later, my two kids, my husband and I are STILL waiting in the gym with nowhere to go. It’s 2:45pm. I understand hotels have check in policies but this is an off weekend and this hotel is empty. I can guarantee the room is ready and they’re just not wanting to help us. Even if it weren’t, it doesn’t take 3 hours to get a room cleaned. They should have compassion that we have kids with us. I would understand if they were busy but they’re not and they’re not even apologetic about it either. For the amount of money this hotel charges you would think they would have better customer service. Won’t be coming back.

I totally agree with the last few bad reviews. I was looking forward to a unique, 5 star stay at this hotel but what I got was poor service, the run around, a dated old environment and no sleep. Any small sound in the hallway is heard in the room. That’s not ideal but livable. But when someone is out of control in the hallway, someone should intervene. A woman, angry with some man, was yelling at him on her cell phone for 2 1/2 hours in the hallway outside my door from 11:30pm-2:00am. I called the front desk several times as it was impossible to sleep. I was told security was notified and would be up. No one ever came! I asked the receptionist the next morning what happened. She said that management was aware of the situation. I asked to have the manager call me but never heard anything. The next morning, at checkout, I again inquired as to compensation and to speak with the manager. I was told no manager was available and that the front desk could not assist me. I asked for a copy of my bill and was told I wouldn’t be receiving one because I had pre-paid. I was worried because, upon checking in, the housekeeper Zane into the room to make sure the mini bar and items on the table had not been used because, if so, I might be charged for them. Just crazy.
In addition, the bed frame in my room was loose and must have put a hole in the wall. Instead of patching it, they tacked a piece of plywood to the hole. The headboard was still broken and the plywood looked ridiculous and served no purpose.
Obviously, the hotel cares nothing about their guests. I do not blame them for unruly guests but I do blame them for taking no action. Had there been a true emergency, nothing would have been done.
Just an awful stay at an old, run down hotel.

This wasn't our 1st stay at GranDuca and were extremely dissatisfied this time. Upon check-in, we were initially told we were upgraded to a suite. Though a suite, it was an accessible room on the first floor by the elevators and the noise from the lobby bar. Additionally, there was a very prominent low level noise which we can only describe as mimicking a cruise ship engine. We were not going to be able to sleep in this room. We asked the front desk agent to be moved and were told there was only a smoking room and a room with 2 twin beds (I've worked on/in hotels for over 20 years and can't believe there's a luxury hotel with twin beds) which wouldn't work for us, especially for the price we paid. We were later notified by a note under our door that a room with a king was available after a late check-out. This room was satisfactory though the pillows and linens were not that of an upscale hotel caliber so resulted in a poor nights sleep.

We went to the bar to have a drink since we couldn't stand the noise in our room. We sat down and we thought the bus person was cleaning the table in front of us but after waiting more than 5 minutes was asked by the same person if we would like a drink. We both asked for dirty martinis but the bar didn't know how to make a proper dirty martini. I highly recommend higher quality olives juice, olives and Blue Cheese for your Martini's, they were frankly disgusting. My wife asked the bartender 3 times to modify her drink to her satisfaction without avail so we gave up and didn't finish our drinks. The bartenders and servers were not attentive either, conversing with a couple sitting at the bar. We felt like we were distracting them from their discussion.

Our first experience at this property was several years ago and exceptional but this experience has scarred us. We'll choose to stay at a Westin or other boutique hotel in the future.
