My family and I used this hotel as our base during our last family holiday. It was clean and well kept in a nice area of the city not too far from food and good shopping. The distance from both IAH and HOU airports though requires extra planning to avoid missing your flights.

Good news first...Michelle Ung, Front Desk Agent is the best and goes out of her way to ensure all guests needs are met. A+++ Could not have asked for a better person to greet and help guests. Now the bad news...I am 70, I resided at this hotel from Apr 2021 to Dec 26, 2022. A LONG TIME. I am a model guest, no disturbances and few needs. 2022 I had my Annual New Year's Day "Open House" event in their lounge/breakfast area. My friends are civilized, friendly and we had a lot of fun playing family board games. We brought our own food and alcohol, plus we cleaned up after ourselves. I attended the 2022 Happy Hours officiated by the AGM where Vodka, Crown, Beer and Wine were freely given to the guests. 2023 I was ready to have the same Annual Event and was advised by the AGM a week before 01/01/23 that this was not possible as they would not allow my guests or myself to bring liquor to this event. I asked about renting a meeting room, this was denied. I asked about having the event with no alcohol and was told that if my friends showed up, she, the AGM, would call the police and have us all thrown out!! I was shocked and almost in tears. This is a 40++ year event that I have hosted. With this threat out there, I drove across the street, literally, to the Staybridge Suites, explained the FULL situation and asked if they could meet my criteria. A room where my friends could meet, play board games and have food and alcohol. No problem, a room was booked for the event, a room was booked for me, and I went back to the Residence Inn and gave them a check out date. I am now a full time guest at the Staybridge Suites. My annual event took place, again with no incidences and my friends had a wonderful time. The full staff, GM, front desk agents to maintenance crew, set up the event room and everything went well. Hats off the Staybridge Suites. It's a pity the Residence Inn AGM does not have the same work ethic as their Front Desk Agents, which is to ensure guests experiences are the best that they can be. My stay at the Residence Inn was at a $100 per night for over 630 days = +/- $63,000.00! Along with my daily rate that they would have been paid while my home is still being rebuilt, they also lost the two-room suite I booked for the 2023 weekend should any of my guests over imbibe! One person, the Residence Inn AGM lost potential revenue with her sense of power to say "No". I would have understood a "No" had my event in 2022 caused any disturbances or stopped other guests from enjoying their stay, or if I or any of my friends were unruly or rude. I am none of those things and neither are my friends. I moved out of the Residence Inn December 26th, 2022. Since moving out I have not received any communications from the GM or the AGM thanking me for my stay which put so much money into their coffers!! The GM also would not let me book the meeting room or have the event but did not add that my guests and myself would be thrown out should I try to hold this event. That threat only came from the AGM!…

Still remains in a great location. Breakfast has changed due to Covid and budgeting, just as happy hour has been suspended. The strength if this hotel is in its front desk staff, who are always up as first line for customer service. As ambassador elite for 3 years now, I am grateful that their long term associate Michelle, knows how to deal with loyal customers like me. Traveling recently for work stayed at this hotel for a week and felt very comfortable. Clean, quiet, and on mornings when I had to leave before the breakfast buffet was open was offered a little bagged breakfast to have in my room. Michelle was looking after the desk most evenings that we were there and she made sure that we had everything we needed. Very professional, patient, kind and just an overall model of superior customer service. I will definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for a few nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is conveniently located not far from I-10 expressway in a quiet safe neighborhood in Memorial City area. When we arrived in late afternoon, our front desk service person was extremely helpful and friendly. When we asked for restaurant recommendations, he gave us some suggestions and we went to one of them and had an excellent dinner! Kudos to the front desk for these suggestions. We were in our room very soon after arriving and everything was in order. There are numerous restaurant in the area, some even within walking distance. A big grocery store, drugstore and gas station are all within a mile of the hotel. Highly recommend.

I decided to make this hotel my second home...because it is in a quiet location surrounded by houses. It is close to a lot of places you can grab something to eat, and Kroger. Their staff is friendly and professional. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Also makes me feel safe with their security setup.

I had to evacuate during Hurricane Laura and stayed at this hotel. Even though there's currently a mask mandate in place, the staff at the desk were frequently not wearing masks, and were not asking any of the guests in common areas to wear masks either. I was staying there with my parents who are in their 60s and we were forced to leave after only one night because of their refusal to follow public health regulations. It was bad enough that I called the local authorities to report the unsafe practices. When the travel site I booked through tried to contact them to request a refund for the second night, they lied and said that we stayed there for two nights and didn't leave. This hotel is not owned by Marriott, it's just a franchise, so there was nothing that Marriott corporate could do either. As a result, we're out $250 for a night we didn't stay.…

We visit Houston often for family reasons, and this hotel, by far,is our favourite. The rooms are spacious, the hotel is quiet and the breakfast has many good choices. The front desk staff is very welcoming and helpful. We like to use the small gym and we have taken advantage of the pool on a hot day. The hotel is well located with easy access to the highway, but there are also very good restaurants that are within walking distance.
