I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights whilst visiting Houston, on a trip through Texas. The hotel was excellent overall.
The location was perfect. It was just outside the CBD/ Downtown and when I say just, literally 100 metres, so it was out of the busy hustle, however we was able to walk everywhere with ease, whether it was Downtown or midtown. There’s lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance.
The rooms were pretty good, some would say certain parts need modernisation, but it was absolutely fine. It was clean and tidy and had all the additional amenities you would want and they were refreshed daily by housekeeping.
The free parking and breakfast was also a huge bonus and was good. You must save $20/30 per night that other hotels Downtown charge and the same for breakfast. Nice range of hot and cold food and drinks available. There’s also an employed security guard to look after the cars overnight.
The staff were great and very helpful and were able to point us towards some local restaurants and bars to try out in midtown.
The only area of improvement if I was to be picky was the pool/ spa area. The pool and spa needs to be cleaned better. There was a ring of grime/ dirt around the water line, which is simply because it isn’t scrubbed/ cleaned properly.
Overall the hotel was great and was better than some the 5* hotel in New Orleans we stayed in prior.

Hotel's Favourite
Stayed here for two and a half weeks for business and was very happy overall but have to send a special shoutout to the staff who were just excellent. Always a friendly welcome or farewell, a sincere effort to help out at all times, or a pleasant conversation for a few minutes. Mary, Andrew, Audrey and Erica made our time there so pleasant, they were the definition of hospitality.
Room was also great, clean and bed was comfortable. Housekeeping did a good job. The free breakfast was okay, got a little old after two and a half weeks but that's not their fault. Gym leaves a little to be desired. There's a pool and a jacuzzi but I didn't try them out. We also felt very safe in the neighbourhood and that was reinforced by the security guard they had in the parking lot and their policy of checking license plates for vehicles parking in the lot after 11pm. We saw many families staying here.
Would happily recommend for travellers looking for a reasonably-priced hotel near downtown Houston.

I have stayed in plenty of hotels and I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by this one. I arrived late in the evening, just after midnight. The security guard promptly directed me to the EV charging spot. It was well lit and felt safe and parking is free! Check-in was quick and efficient.
Room was spacious and clean, bed was comfortable, TV had tons of channels on DirecTV, water was hot in the shower, mini fridge worked well and they had a couple of free bottles of water waiting for me.
Breakfast was about what you would expect, but there was plenty of it and I noticed they did not seem to be rushing people, even 15 minutes after breakfast was supposed to be closed. One nice thing was they left the napkins and plastic utensils out after breakfast which came in handy later in the evening when my dinner I had delivered without any way to eat it. The napkins were oddly nice and the plastic utensils were the good stuff as well.
One thing I have to say is, everyone I interacted with was very friendly and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. It was like being in a 5 star hotel from that perspective.
I would stay here again without hesitation.

Room was just as pictured online. Could sometimes hear other guests walking down hall or above my room, but very manageable. Didn't partake of breakfast or pool, but I saw others did. Free parking was a welcome alternative to what other area hotels offered. Small size of hotel made it feel manageable. Good location between Montrose and Medical Center areas -- only about 10-15.mins to each, depending on traffic. Would stay here again.

We are attending a wedding and the price of the suggested wedding hotel was twice the price, for smaller rooms and an additional $50 daily valet parking and no free breakfasts offered. This property and staff are a great value and the relatively small size of the hotel seemed almost like a boutique experience. Erica the manager was amazing and took personal interest in our needs and requests. This hotel is very convenient to al the eating and enterainment venues downtown.

After spending months weighing up different hotels in and around downtown Houston google recommended the Best Western downtown.
I was initially hesitant as it wasn't near a light rail stop which I would normally look for as we had tickets to a late night Astros game.
I shouldn't have worried.
The staff here are phenomenal. Friendly approachable and willing to help at all times, house keeping attended the room everyday to make beds and clean which is something hotels at twice the price point aren't doing.
It's a 20 minute walk from downtown along the bayou and just off the freeway. There are 2 bars on the block but we didn't hear any noise.
The hotel employs a night security guard for the car park which is an additional bonus but really the staff make this place.

We were in Houston for our son’s robotics competition. From the time we checked in every staff member was very friendly and eager to help. Mary at the front desk was always greeting everyone with a smile and offering cold water as we walked in. Erica was super sweet and came and Introduced herself during breakfast and asked how our stay was going. Housekeeping staff was wonderful and did a great job servicing the room as well as leaving behind a goody bag of snacks and extra water. The breakfast was like a full service restaurant with something for every one. It was prepared fresh, great healthy choices from breakfast sandwiches to waffles, hash browns, fruits, cereals and breads.
Will definitely be returning again.

During the recent Houston power outage we were happy to find a place that still had power. We stayed 3 nights. Each morning the staff would let us decide if we wanted to extend our stay another night while we waited for our power at home to come back on. We had a king suite with plenty of room to spread out. The WiFi worked great. A hot grab and go breakfast was included. Everyone wore masks so I didn’t feel too worried about Covid-19. The staff offered a frozen pizza for purchase when we checked in which they cooked in their oven and delivered to our room. When the city water pressure was gone, staff would bring around buckets of pool water to each room and flush our toilets. The staff made the best of a bad situation. The location was easy to get to and in a quiet area, not too close to a loud freeway.

This was the best experience I've had at a Best Western, they're usually fine but this one was outstanding. It's not fancy but I appreciated all the small helpful touches, such as having a shelf in the shower for shampoo, a hook in the bathroom for hanging up a robe, large bathroom counter, strong shower spray, comfortable bed and pillows. The front desk staff were very kind and the cleanliness of the room was very good. Lots of choices for breakfast including scrambled eggs and bacon. The location is great, not on a noisy highway and convenient to most of the museum areas. As a solo female, I always felt perfectly safe and as a Tesla owner, the Tesla chargers in the front parking area were very much appreciated.

The hotel is conveniently located just outside of the central business district. The room size is excellent. Plenty of room and not crowded.

Not to my knowledge. Stayed there in November. Close to downtown. Free parking is a big bonus.

The walk to GRB Convention Center is a little less than 1.5 miles away and walk-able. In the past, large groups, have coordinated using car services to get everyone around town depending on your planned schedule. We also recommend taxi to and from the hotel runs between $6-8 or a ride-sharing app.

We are located in downtown Houston and are less than a mile away from the Downtown Aquarium. Houston is a very large and spread out city with many attractions nearby like our fine museums, zoo or music venues downtown depending on your interests.
Kemah Boardwalk is about 33 miles away and Galveston Pier is roughly 52 miles from downtown. Car rentals are typically the best way for guests that want to travel to various locations to explore or some guests use car service apps on their phones.
IAH airport is 16 miles from us (30-45 minuntes) and Hobby is 12 miles (25-40 minutes).
