Fake parking attendant at entrance. Beware don't stay here. Security guard later said its been an issue for years. Hello! Sign???? Now we have a huge ticket. Front desk cant do anything. Pathetic for a Hilton hotel. Ruined what should have been a good stay.
We drove into Houston for a pre-planned visit just as the Stock Show and other large events were being cancelled due to the global health situation. The Embassy Suites Downtown was a pleasant oasis from the worry outside its doors. Any staff members we encountered during our overnight stay were calm, friendly, and professional. The beautifully-appointed hotel and our spacious suite were a good launching point for our day, as we walked five blocks to the rail line that dropped us off in front of the Museum of Fine Arts to view the works of Norman Rockwell. Guadalajara and the House of Blues were on the next block for dinner and entertainment, and the Phoenician Market next door was perfect for dessert and coffee. The size of our vehicle exceeded the valet parking maximum requirements, so we used the paid parking lot that wraps around the hotel and borders the Discovery Green. We will definitely consider staying at the Embassy Suites Downtown in the future. …
Stayed for New Years Eve. Our room temperature was warm. We triple checked to see if the heater was on but it was not the case. They brought up a fan to our room as a result. The mini fridge was lukewarm. Everything else was just ok
My husband is a diamond member, and we stay in Hilton’s all the time, we have stayed in other Hilton’s during this pandemic, and I have to say they are just not trying. We did get upgraded because of his status, but there was no room cleaning, no servicing the room at all. Every time you needed something, another towel, or a coffee cup or coffee for our multiple night stay, you had to go down the elevator, wait in the lobby, for them to get what you needed. No bringing it to your room, we asked! If they knew we were there for three nights, could they just leave extra towels, or extra coffee and cups? NO ! It’s all your problem now. Of course there was no breakfast buffet, but the grab and go was dismal, No selection, and I am gluten free so I am totally out of luck. For the evening reception , they could have had grab and go beers or wine in a cooler, and bagged chips, but instead, nothing. They didn’t even sell beer in the store. So after getting back from working at 8 pm, there are no options at this hotel. Also, I must mention that the grab and go was a pre packed muffin ( can’t eat), a small granola bar, a piece of fruit, and a bottle of apple juice, or orange juice, neither of which we drink. We like a Diet Coke in the morning or coffee. You have to make coffee in your room, and we had 2 cups and 2 coffees for a three night stay, and we were charged for Diet Coke at breakfast. Seems the diamond status means little here. The pool was not being maintained, the water was greenish and there were giant clumps of black hair floating on the surface. I mentioned the condition to an employee eating lunch by the pool, who told mr that no one was using the pool now, although it was “open”. No excuse for not maintaining it! Just want you to know what you are getting into when you stay here. Choose wisely.…
I was in town for a medical procedure. I was stuck in my room for 3 days. The staff went above and beyond to take care of all my needs. Ice, food, water. Anything that I needed. The Restuarant next door also delivered to my room. There food was amazing. I want to thank the entire staff for going out of their way to make my recover so much easier. BG
