Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for 2 nights for work, we had some meetings on property. Overall, had a good solid stay and all of the staff that we interacted with were fantastic, particularly those in the restaurant on the 1st floor where they make a delicious Oat milk Latte (with extra shots) exactly how I like it. Had lunch here as well, and despite how busy they were the staff kept on smiling and did their best to deliver great service.
Rooms were clean and comfortable and I like to call out the pillow situation... which was great. Not the cheap pillows, the nice quality kind that gives you a great night sleep. The AC in my room also worked great which was a plus, since many times I find that is controlled and iffy in some hotels. Shower pressure was on point, and the room and the Illy coffee pods in-room if you are a hardcore morning coffee drinker and just go for it regardless of the what they say about in-room coffee makers. They have a lovely roof top bar, with fantastic views of the city if you want to even venture up there to take some pics, even foregoing a cocktail.
The hotel is located within easy walking distance of a ton of stuff as well. There was a Walmart/Sam's Club convention going on, so thousands of managers descending on all the hotels in the area that we had to navigate and it did make catching the elevator.

The outward appearance of the hotel is attractive, is as are the public areas. The gym is well-equipped and clean, stocked daily with fresh towels and water. It would be nice to have sanitizing wipes for the equipment when finished.
The room was quiet and comfortable, although it smelled stale. It was clean, but the carpet and pillows are worn and in need of update. Cleaning the carpets may help with the odor. It would have been nice to have the kleenex box replaced, and the coffee pods replaced.
The bathroom and amenities were excellent.
The only last comment is that I did hear the person upstairs at midnight and again at 4 am because I think they were wearing high heels.
Of note, I found the staff amiable, warm and helpful

From the minute that I arrived at the hotel to the time that I left, the staff was so friendly. Josh and Danny at the Front Desk were very welcoming and made me feel at home! The hotel was beautiful....it was very clean and in a great location. Room service was awesome, very fast and delicious! The hotel provides complimentary coffee in the morning but there is also Illy coffee in the guest rooms which was also very good. The rooftop bar, Z on 23 was spectacular! The views, the cocktails and service were exceptional! I was there for business but I will definitely will be back for pleasure!

After two stays this year at Le Meridian hotels, I don’t understand their strategy. They dedicate a fair amount of space to bar, restaurants and at this location a rooftop bar which is closed for the season. Things like getting a cup of coffee are difficult (there is free coffee in the room if you like that). If you are coming here for the rooftop bar, I don’t know what there is to look at amidst this depressing neighborhood surrounded by parking lots and garages. Le Meridian experiences seem to very much depend on the people. Here I found most staff to be average. But I am burying the lead: On a two night stay, nobody made up my room. There are few things more annoying after a long day of work than no fresh towels, unmade bed, etc. I would other more consistently managed brands in BonVoy family like Westin, Marriott or Courtyard.

Dear Sniveler, thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I am very sorry you were not fully satisfied with your stay with us. Your feedback regarding housekeeping service will be shared with our team and I am sorry that your room was not made up during your stay. Complimentary grab and go coffee is offered every morning in the restaurant area and we try to make it as easy as possible for our guests. Our rooftop bar closes only due to weather or private parties and despite its popularity, the rooftop atmosphere is not for everyone. Our hotel is surrounded by multitude of things within walking distance or a short drive such as museums, theaters, Aquarium, Minute Maid ballpark, Discovery Greens Park, Toyota arena, churches, and offices of many Fortune 500 companies, so the description of a "depressing neighborhood" may be a little too harsh. Downtown Houston is making progress to making the area lot more popular for travelers and locals alike and has made great strides in this area in the last decade. Once again, thank you for your feedback and I hope your next visit to our city will be a perfect one. At Your Service, Jan Vanco General Manager jan.vanco@lemeridienhoustondowntown.com

Aesthetically pleasing, several amenities, and amazing staff. I checked in on my app when arriving at HOU and wasn’t able to choose my room or update my card info. I called and Keldren (sorry if I spelled it wrong) was very polite and told me to come see him when I got there. I told him I wanted to be in a room near my family and he found the closest one. Check in was less than 5 min. Everytime we had an issue, we’d go see him and everything was taken care of. I loved that there were several areas for us to relax and convene outside of the room. We tend to bring cards with us when we travel so having an area where we can play cards/music without disturbing other guests in their room is always a plus. The restaurant/ room service allows you to order food until 11pm. Lewis (restaurant manager) was amazing!!! My flight was delayed four hours so I was starving when I got in. I ordered room service at 10:58pm with no problem and Lewis brought it up to the room. Even when we were in the lounge area playing cards, he would come up to check on us and ask us if we needed anything. We were pleasantly surprised that we were able to just order from the lounge instead of coming into the restaurant.
My only complaints are the subpar housekeeping and wifi. I prefer extra towels and wash cloths which I note in my booking. Not only did I have to ask for the extras daily, the normal amount was never placed in the room when the room was cleaned. The housekeeping staff would take the dirty stuff off the floor and never replace it. There was only 1 time during my 4-night stay where an adequate amount was left in the room (the first night). I had to ask every day to bring up clean towels. Often, having to ask more than once. The last night, we came back after shopping all day and the room had not been cleaned (we left around 10am). The lobby wifi was the only wifi I was able to connect to. When I tried connecting the regular guest wifi, an error message kept popping up on my phone. Wifi didn’t work in the room.

+1
I stayed for one night (checked in on Friday and checked out on Saturday) mainly for the proximity to Minute Maid park as I was attending a concert.
Valet was super nice and friendly during drop off and pickup of the vehicle. They directed us to the second floor to check in.
During check in there were 3 people working, one gentleman who absolutely did not want to be there and his co-worker kept making faces at him as he was available to check us in and didn’t. So she felt frustrated and checked us in instead. She was very nice, attentive and helpful. Gave you a quick run down of the hotel and the amenities and provided the room keys.
I stayed in a 2 bedroom queen. The room was spacious and clean which I was very happy about. No good views but that was ok.
PROS:
Room had comfortable bedding, spacious closet and large bathroom. I also loved the wall mirror. Room also had a nice mini fridge, coffee maker and tv.
CONS:
The lighting is terrible! Even with all of the lights on it was pretty dark. The worst con of all, which is the major reason I am rating this hotel 3/5 is that the walls are paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING! Our neighbors (who we don’t know) were getting busy early in the morning (3:30 am) and we could hear it all. They turned the tv on to try to draw out some of the noise but the tv was also so loud and it woke us up as we thought it was our TV that was on.
Also, housekeeping is very inconsiderate with their noise level. To avoid opening and closing the doors with their key as they clean, they set the lock so the lock props out and so they simply have to push the door open. Well they were slamming the door!! Over and over and over it was so loud! It echoed so bad! And they kept banging our door with their supplies/cart . They also knocked on our door and said “housekeeping” as they normally would but it made no sense since we were checking out in a few hours.
Another con was also how long it took the elevators to work. I understand that it was a busy night but we waited for an elevator for over 20 minutes and I just decided to take the stairs.
I decided to check out using the app to avoid the crowd.
Cannot comment on restaurant but will add a review for the roof top bar .
I don’t know if I would stay here again simply due to the noise level.

I had a last minute one night stay booked for business, and stayed at the Le Meridien during the work week (non weekend). The experience with the staff was limited, however upon arriving I was not directed that I must walk in and go up to the 2nd floor to get to the front desk to check in. I wandered around the restaurant for a few minutes, before one of the staff there told me, and shared that they get that inquiry many times a day.
As for the rooms themselves - the premium wifi did not work, only the standard wifi during my stay. That said, I was still able to connect my devices and use the internet as needed for the work that had to get done in the room that night. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept well. The shower was good, however it appeared housekeeping skimped on the soap (or lack thereof). I went and asked for soap at the front desk as I had none in the bathroom.
Overall - nice place, however if paying on my own dime, I would likely opt for one of the larger hotels near the convention center.

Overall this is a decent hotel. Good location in the middle of downtown Houston and has average amenities for a middle-tier hotel. However, the hotel needs to improve on the details.
The staff is greatly undertrained in hospitality. For example, we ate breakfast only once in the hotel restaurant. When we walked into the restaurant, there was no one but the staff, and they were sitting at a table in the rear that had a place setting. So we sat near the table where the staff was seated because it had windows to the street. It was a staff of three, so one waitress served us, and the other two staff resumed sitting next to us and having a conversation. Hey, I understand you are not busy, but you should move somewhere more private. They are not paying customers to sit like other paying customers so that I can hear their conversation. Also, they are sitting at a table with a place setting. Someone is going to sit there, and they have now contaminated the setting. Not acceptable.
We went to the restaurant for evening drinks and light snacks. Again, there needed to be more professionals, and additional training was required. We sat at the bar one evening, and it was not crowded again. We sat at the end of the bar, but the bartender and, I guess, the waitress stood at the end of the bar, literally one seat next to us, and leaned on the bar and had a conversation as if they were paying customers.
The valet is the same experience. We pull up, and the attendant stands at the valet stand and does not even approach the car to help or ask if we need assistance. We have to take our keys to them as they watch videos on their phone. The staff does not try to hide what they are doing. Same when we leave at the start of the day. We are handed our keys, and the only question is, are you checking out?
Usually, a hotel has management walking, greeting, and training staff when appropriate. We never really saw this at this hotel. That is part of the problem; if addressed, the hotel can improve. It's about the details that start separating one hotel from another.

I had the misfortune of staying here for 8 nights in mid-late March for a business trip. I travel frequently globally for business to mid range hotels in major city centres. The things I look for in business stays are 1) location; 2) an ok gym; 3) free water in the room; 4) comfortable bed and pillows; 5) cleanliness.
On 5), this is one of the worst I have stayed in. The room was infrequently and inadequately cleaned. On one day I had to request the room to be serviced; and when it was, the carpet was dirtier than before, like someone had tracked in dirt from outside. I ended up requesting a vacuum cleaner be brought up to my room, so I could clean it myself. I had done most of the room when the vacuum stopped working (the bag was full). The carpet was stained. The bathroom wasn’t well cleaned, with the same 5 strands of hair on the shower wall for 4 consecutive nights.
On 4), the bed was comfortable enough, but the pillows were pathetically thin. Like if you put your hands on either side and press, your hands meet in the middle.
On 3), there was free water in the room, but infrequently replaced.
On 2) the gym was decent, but sometimes there was bottled water, sometimes only fountain water, sometimes no water.
On 1) the location is great.

Saturday Feb25th requested housekeeping service by phone around 10,30am to be done before 1.30pm. Stopped by the desk before leaving the hotel and reminded the female clerk who told me they will do their best, my daughter arrived after 2pm and the room was still dirty. She called and then stopped by the desk to make the request again for room cleaning and it was finally done as Suzanne the supervisor on duty finally was able to get it done. By the way we waited about 15 minutes to get in to the building when trying to check in at 2.30am on Saturday as the front door was locked and valet service did not have a key to open it. The room was very cleaned and the décor was very up-to-date as well as the hotel.

I either take a taxi or call an Uber.
George Bush(IAH) is roughly 20 miles (30 minutes without much traffic) and Hobby (HOU) is roughly 10 miles (20 minutes without much traffic)
I'm not sure. I used uber.
1112 Clay St is a 5 minute walk... also is a gated garage... $10/night.
$34.00 for overnight valet with in/out privileges. There is street lots available around the hotel for less. They are not operated by the hotel and do not offer in/out privileges.
"Park a block away at the Star Garage. It is only $15/night even though their sign says differently. I used that garage 3 nights in a row."Read full review
