From the special greeting to our departure the stay at Vermelho was surreal. The accommodations were beyond my expectations. There was special thought put into every detail! Our room was the “most Portuguese room” and it didn’t disappoint with hand painted furniture and details throughout. Even the ceiling was to be admired being hand painted as well. The bedding was divine. We booked a room with a veranda which had the most comfortable seating and was very private. The bathroom was wall to wall marble with heated floors and beautiful carved details around the tiled tub. The round window added a WOW to the room. Take note of all the red leather in the most minor necessities - Mr. Louboutin outdid himself here. We arrived to an assortment of fruit and beverages while we checked in , which continued into our room with a basket of fruit and fresh water. There was also wine and chocolate and an assortment of nuts to snack on for purchase. They provided luxurious towels and straw hats in a wicker beach tote for the pool. The pool was also very alluring. Top notch quality furniture and cushions . As you can see we had a fabulous time !! Also the food was delicious as we enjoyed dinner at Xtians, again with impeccable service . If you love chocolate get their chocolate mousse dessert. I’m still in heaven from that as well !!The breakfast and the attention from their staff was highly appreciated with positive kind vibes everywhere! Do not leave the premises without booking a spa service !!! I booked a massage which was one of the best of not the best I have ever had 🙌 ~

Vermelho Melides is owned by Christian Laboutin. It will be no surprise that Vermelho means Red in Portuguese. The decor of the hotel is quite amazing. It is exciting in every area except the dining room. The gardens have only recently been planted but already they are beautiful. Pool is delightful and practical with very comfortable sun loungers. The bar is quite extraordinary with silver plates columns and front. Portuguese tiles depict different scenes throughout the hotel. As you would expect there is a lot of Red, leather covered shoe horns clothes hangers etc. the bedrooms are exquisitely decorated and the beds and linen of the highest quality. The bathroom has a huge tiled bath that you could have a party in and there gray power showers. The staff could not have been more helpful and checking in and out was very easy. I have separately review Xtian the restaurant where the food is superb. We cannot wait to go back.

This hotel has the kindest most attentive staff of any hotel I've ever stayed at. Never did they give a pretentious air but always cared for our every need and desire. The decor and architecture lures you in and helps to relax your mind transitioning you from the mundane to the fantastical. This state of mind is enhanced by the cocktails served at the bar and the gourmet food served in the restaurant. Each night I looked forward to taking a bath in our grand red tiled tub using the wonderfully scented bath products. My husband and I slept with ease in the soft bed. We woke early, went horse back riding and then explored hidden beaches mapped out for us by the hotel staff. I was sad to leave and hope to return soon.

Words cannot describe although I will try… This louboutin inspired hotel is out of the ordinary and out of this world It is so unassuming from the street that I was unprepared for what was I was to encounter and experience inside the gate The gentleman who welcomed us and took care of our car was so professional and polite. The front desk staff upon arrival could not have been more helpful and thoughtful in their efforts to make certain our stay was perfect, as a result it was. The décor throughout is hard to describe because it is so magical and a personal statement of mr louboutins vision and partnership with so many talented artists from around the world. Our room and bath were Elegant with each design choice unparalleled In their eccentric magnificence The food was outstanding and the service even better The entire staff made our journey to this slice of heaven magical and meaningful as well. We will definitely return to create even more memories!

We expected this five star boutique hotel to be good, and it was: bonkers design, which was a pleasure to experience (and it’s thorough: ask one of the staff to show you the sole of their shoe), excellent food, professional massage in the spa, and all of the little touches you expect at this level. However, a few things exceeded what would have been happy with: the rooms (we saw two in detail) are rich with fun design, but also nicely practical and a pleasure to stay in; at every corner a little thing to admire—the door stops and the drain covers, for example (really). The staff really were excellent. High quality of spoken English (I am a native speaker), lovely balance of friendliness and being there to work for your comfort. And the local area. Do not neglect to go for a walk down to the coast. Or just drive there and walk around. Lovely. We live a couple of hours away and will for sure come back. Well done M. Louboutin.

The hallmark of true “5 Star” service is attention to detail and Vermelho understands this concept in every way. A gorgeous property married to a generous staff guarantees a fantastic stay. We were greeted warmly before being escorted into a lounge to enjoy an aperitif while the concierge reviewed the reservations we had made in advance of our arrival. A quick orientation to the hotel and an introduction to our beautiful room (Sancho) put us in a very relaxed state of mind. We were made to feel like family for the duration of our stay. And even though we are lucky to travel often, this is the first time in forever I’ve been sad to pack up and depart. Do not miss the delicious breakfasts and make time to discover the “secret beach” with a GPS coordinate provided by the front desk. Spa treatments were also top flight. We love you Vermelho and we will indeed be back soon.

From every corner of this place you will be amazed. Location : close to Lisbon but yet in the middle of Alentejo best to offer and 5 min drive from a real nice beach. Staff: professional trained, from Beatriz welcoming you to Gonçalo making you feel 5 stars, from Rui, Miguel, Claudia taking your food to perfection at your table to Núria delivering the best massages you can think of …. And all others that I can not remember their names but have a smile and welcoming attention to your every need: the Hotel: I call this review detail in Melides because it has has been thought of, dreamed and delivered in all senses of the word. Every corner, every smell, every color, every piece of furniture has been picked and detailed to make you think you are in some palace being treated as a king and queen. Nature: embedded into nature from all corners you would forget you are in a beautiful picturesque village in the middle of nowhere where. Definitely will come back to this place as it has been an amazing surprise. This is a serene and beautiful place where every space has been designed to stimulate the senses. The individually designed rooms have all you could wish for in comfort. The pool area sparkles and is surrounded by beautiful planting. Food and service are attentive and excellent. What more could you ask for? Perhaps the lovely little village with its church, square and local hostelries.

Hands down the most beautiful hotel we’ve been to. The grounds are absolutely stunning and the ornate detailing seen throughout the hotel is a sight to be seen. A wonderful and friendly staff too! We will surely be back. A few recommendations: light music at the pool, ornate tiles on the backdrop of the pool wall, new massage beds.
