I’ve stayed in various cabins here going back many years. They are typically clean, well kept and worked better for me than a hotel room. Highway noise is bad, but solved by bringing white noise device.
Stayed in a ‘family cabin’ this time. Cabin was as described. No cooktop, oven, dishes or pots/pans - as described. Screened front porch was great for cooking on camp stove we brought (bring your own table to avoid melting theirs). Plenty of room in fridg and cabinets. One thing I found strange was lack of nightstands. Yes, bedrooms are small, but small nightstands are available! Hooks to hang things on in all rooms would be helpful.
This visit was my first with a child and therefore first time to attempt activities. Unless your children are okay with waiting in line a long time for events that do not start on time, you will be disappointed. Timed tickets would be a vast improvement. There’s a good variety of DIY activities, but the attractive things like fire truck, hay ride, etc. require long waits. Didn’t attempt activities for older kids, so don’t know how well those are executed. Playgrounds were littered with trash and left behind clothing that was there mid-week and remained on the weekend.
The infrastructure is there and well done, which makes it even more disappointing when it’s so difficult to use it.
A large expansion is in-process. This means more people competing for inclusion in activities. Without a big change in operations, more disappointment awaits future guests. Also, the size of the property is already bigger than feet can easily cover. The expansion will make that worse. I guess golf cart rental is a big income stream for the park. I’d rather use a routine shuttle service than be dodging inexperienced golf cart drivers.

I hope everyone knows that Jellystone campgrounds are highly kid-centric and meant for families. In case you don't, there's your FYI. We are an older couple with no kiddos, but we knew what we were getting into when we booked at this park so it was fine. Children yelling and playing makes us happy, YMMV.

This is a family fun park with countless activities for the youngsters and teens. I'm not even going to list them all because it would take up this whole review. Suffice to say that if you get bored here it's your own fault.

The sites toward the front are nicely wooded and close to the action. Plenty of room and easy in/out. In the back they have another area that has patios and other deluxe trappings, but it's not nearly as charming as up front.

There is a battalion of smiling employees manning the activities, tidying up, and being helpful in general.

Why the average review? They don't really keep up on maintenance in the laundry and the showers. One shower is actually missing its on/off knob, which is such a simple fix I can't believe it stayed that way our whole 10 day stay. There are a couple of washers and dryers out of order, and a few other broken things that would take little effort to fix.

Other than that, everything is spot on and would make a terrific family vacation. Reserve in advance because everyone in the universe is here on weekends.

PS, the ice cream parlor makes a slew of unique flavors every day. It is premium homemade ice cream and you need to have some.

We camped in a pricey tent spot right across from the fishing pond, which is where we spent a lot of time. Even entered the fishing contest. The place was packed for the Labor Day holiday (which is why it was more expensive), with plenty of activities, like paintball (extra fee), archery tag (pretty fun) and crafts. You have to complete an electronic waiver using their app. The staff will help you. Social distancing was lacking, and there was little mask wearing outside. We did not swim in the crowded pools but they opened up Little Pirate's Cove for an hour of complimentary water fun, which was nice. Big fire pit for roasting marsh mellows and complimentary chili cook off tasting in the evening. The staff members are friendly and will bend over backwards to help you with anything. Was quite surprised to see a wedding reception taking place on the grounds. One thing for sure -- kids need to bring their bikes!! Lots of territory to cover.

We had stayed at the Kerrville location previously and they are not the same at all. Kerrville seems to have more cabins and those cabins are more spread out for relaxation and privacy. The cabins at this location were borderline touching each other and offered no privacy. The conditions of the grounds were astronomically different than at Kerrville as well. Plan for no dog poop stations when you walk your dogs, no trash pickup, grass is dead in most areas with weeds coming through, trash all over the places we went, and most of the areas for kids were really not maintained well. (Most of the pools had weeds growing out the fencing and more.) When we just went we saw that they are expanding to even more RVs lots.

Really would help the experience if they spent that time and energy expanding on maintaining and updating the current activities.

Summary, nice if you expect rough camping conditions. Not to nice if you want a getaway for your family to relax.

We have just returned from staying at Jellystone in the 4plex cabins. The cabin was new, mostly clean (although the floors needed a good clean!) and spacious for the 4 of us. The night lights in every room were a nice touch. I would suggest that a mirror is stuck onto one of the walls in one bedroom as getting ready in a bathroom is not easy with other family members needing to use it!
Jellystone is so much fun, our kids (7 & 9) loved the archery, fishing, hero tag, bingo and hiring a golf cart was brilliant too! The pools are lovely too.
Social distancing in the shop needs some attention though as the shop could get crowded with people booking for the water park early morning. Also there was no one monitoring this in the pools, fortunately it was quiet when we went but we did see it very busy at times during our stay.
The water park is great fun, felt very spaced out and the kids loved the slides.
Finally a special mention to the lovely staff who were very helpful, providing us with a new bundle of towels when we washed ours but then found our dryer was not working.
We will definitely be back!

My family went to check-in and upon arrival the cabin assigned to us for the night was dirty and not ready. We went back to the front desk/ customer service area and informed them of the issue and they assigned us another cabin which seemed ready until we started to use the cabin’s bathroom. The bathroom’s sink and shower’s soak machine were empty leaving us with no hand soap or shower gel. The jacuzzi had not water stopper so we could not utilize the jacuzzi in the bathroom also to see that only two towels were there with no wash cloth. In the evening we decided to use the cabin’s outside grill and realizing that there was no working lights illuminating that area. Some of the other cabins did have them working while others didn’t. The following day, as we began to gather everything to check-out of the cabin we used the shower and as we did, water started to leak all over the floor outside the bathroom near the bunk beds, which subsequently went into adjacent cabin neighbors.
These issues as we ran across them did bring them up with the front desk and the hand soap, shower gel, and towels where, in a reasonable time, taken care of. However, these issues should have been inspected thoroughly before the cabin was assigned to any campers.

Our family of four set out on a vacation at this wonderful campground in Texas called Jellystone park. This was our first big trip in our camper that we purchased last fall. We had a great time. There were a few issues, but the staff worked with us and was always there to help. We had opportunities to speak with many of the workers and they were very nice.

We stayed in the campgrounds closet to the Bear’s Den, that’s the place where many of the daily activities take place. Overall, the pull-through spot was nice. I appreciate that it was naturally shady, and the crushed gravel spot was well kept.

On spot 23, we had a tree that prevented us from using a shorter sewage hose, and coupled with the uphill stretch to the sewer drain, made emptying a pain. Rant over.

Our sons are 11 and 12, and they had a great time! That is what was most important to us. They painted crafts, made sand art, tie dyed t-shirts, played paintball, swam, played in the arcade, rode water slides, and more. Heck, we stayed a whole week and didn’t even manage to do everything. We were really impressed by the kindness of many of the other families here, and we think this is a great place to bring kids of all ages for a fun family vacation.

As a grown up, seeing my kids have fun made this vacation worthwhile for me and my wife. I can say that we felt safe letting our kids have some freedom, and relaxing at the campgrounds a bit. The cabins seemed nice, the rental campers were really modern, and the premium campgrounds looked nice as well. I think they would be a bit warmer due to the lack of shade since that part of the camp is newer and there aren’t many trees.

They are building more stuff out there, including an indoor pool! There are some parts of the park that looked like they were a bit unkempt. This was mostly around the older areas where the pond is. This could have something to do with COViD being last year, and staffing issues. I’m not judging that.

One tip. On the blue slide at the Pirate’s Cove, keep those elbows in!

We stayed in a premium cabin and the floors were visibly dirty. I cleaned everything myself before I even let my family come in given the situation of Covid 19 we expected even more attention to cleanliness but that wasn’t the case. The outside of our cabin had trash, popped balloons, & white claw cans. Which I also had to pick up a lot of it on our side because I have a 2 year old & I didn’t want him touching other people’s trash. All the activities were closed the website didn’t state this before we left the website made it seem like some stuff would be open again that wasn’t the case. It was an expensive stay for nothing basically all we got to do was walk a short short nature trail and look at ducks by the pond. Also the pond was littered with garbage, the front store was dingy and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in awhile. We won’t be staying again, this wasn’t our first stay but it will be our last. I also didn’t ask to speak with a manager because service was slow at the desk they had one person helping people and beyond the doors in the den part were people hula hooping, not sure if they were workers but I assumed they were.

We do not start our daily activities program until after Memorial Day. We would like to follow-up with you on your experience in more detail. Can you please email your contact information to marcie@northtexasjellystone.com, so we can follow-up with you. Again, thank you for choosing to stay in our park.

We came for a birthday party. We planned to bring our RV but were told the only way to get next to our family was for both to pay 20.00 fee for assigned parking. Never heard of anything like this before. So we didnt stay just came for the water park and party. We had to go to the guard shack for prepurchased wrist bands and parking passes but there is no way to get from tbe guard shack to the water park by car. So you have to to 2 miles or more down the road and circle back. We ordered food. Took an hour to stand in libe and get food. We rented a family cabana and there were NO trays available to carry food back. I bought 40.00 worth of food and even offered tl give them 5.00 for an empty box or a bag(both were available) to carry my food back. I was told NO very rudely. There was no adult supervision at all. ALL teens working. The guard shack, the grill. The front gate. And ALL of the ones we had contact with had very bad attitudes. Only open for 4 hours today and both areas were closed for 30 minutes at one point. There is nobody on the kiddie side to monitor the slides so we got ran into from behind going down the slide with our 2 year old. Lines were too long to everything. NOTHING is convenient. 100.00 for 4 hours for a family of 3. Terrible experience and I will never go back. I will also make sure all my friends and family knkw as well.

We stayed in the cabin with a loft. The water pressure was so low could hardly take a shower or brush your teeth. The television in the front room very seldom were able to get a picture. No internet service at all as advertised. The lights over the kitchen sink didn’t work. The couch in the living room was uncomfortable and the cushion kept sliding off. The refrigerator was leaking water inside. Generally the cabin needed some serious upkeep.
