We stayed in the Beautiful Ella's Cottage, it was perfect and in such a fantastic location, private but still moments away from the shops. The balcony was so lovely to sit and enjoy the views and listen to the river. Belinda was an excellent host. Definitely recommend, we will be back to stay again.

Ella’s cottage was beautifully set up and had everything we needed - as one would expect for $385 for one night. We lit candles on arrival, as they were sitting next to the spa bath in the corner. At checkout, noticed that there was an item on the mini-bar list saying that candles were $35 each, so had accidentally spent $75 (including an additional fee for being charged). We suggested to the host that these could be better positioned so future guests wouldn’t make the same mistake - to no avail! Left a bad taste.

Hello Katrina We are so happy you enjoyed your stay in Ella's cottage. The candles in question are suppled from a small local business that we support. Each and every candle has a minibar label sticker over the top that covers the wick. So to burn both the candles which you did required you to tear the minibar sticker off it so not an accident. Also not sneaky, clearly labelled! As explained to you, regardless of if an item in in a minibar basket or fridge that also had the same stickers on them and you were happy to pay for those it was labelled minibar. I also offered for you to come and collect if you were still in the area or I could post them to you for you to reply " I don't want them nor do I wish to pay for them"

My family spent two night in Lola’s cottage. Upon arrival we were presented with a very comfortable and cosy cottage reminiscent of a bygone era. They are set into the hill with soaring gum trees and greenery enveloping the property. The serenity was amazing and we appreciated the serenity and privacy these cottages offered. We were also warmly greeted by Belinda, who was our host and owner of the property. Our chat with Belinda revealed that not only is she very proud of being the owner and custodian of these cottages, she is genuinely interested in her guests and ensure their stay is enjoyable. I would recommend these cottages to anyone staying in Warburton. They are very well located and easy walking distance to the shops and Yarra river trails.

I stayed with a large group of friends and this place was excellent on the surface - generous breakfasts, cozy cottages, beautiful location. When I was there, I was planning when I’d come back with my extended family. Just be aware that it’s not all as it seems and you could be stung by the owner‘s dishonesty. It’s such a shame given it could otherwise be a beautiful place I’d come back to regularly and recommend to anyone. So, just be very, very careful because if you give an inch you’ll be taken for a mile.

Hello Narani, this is now slander and bullying. Consumer affairs did contact me and after they found out the truth, there was no more discussions. We have been transparent about our processes', accommodating to your needs, conversed with you at 9pm when you demand answers that were already provided. you have threatened me and my business on multiple occasions. Bookings/purchasing ANYTHING online will take the full payment and this was explained to you prior to you making the booking and after you constantly tried to barter down the price of your stay. Your husband (who the booking is under) has been very understanding of our processes' and has constantly apologised to me on your behalf. Harassing and bulling and business or a person is NEVER ok

BEWARE OF CANCELATION POLICY. The host is far from reasonable or accomodating. Amid the pandemic and unpredictable lock downs I highly recommend choosing alternate accomodation with a host who is compassionate and understanding of things that are beyond our control. We lost our entire deposit, $1159!

Not sure when this booking was or even if it was in fact one of our guests as we can not find a booking under this name. As far as pandemic lockdowns, we were always available to ALL our guests to talk to them and offered them ALL that was affected by a lockdown the opportunity to postpone their stay to a date of their chose. We were not able to do refunds as a part of our policy but our guest were more than happy to take up the offer as it was something to look forward to after many lockdowns.

Such a disappointment to stay here for such a quaint little town. We were interstate quests and a large amount of money was paid for our time of stay over New Year. Considering Victoria had just come out of a long lockdown, the premises was disgusting. The outside of the building had peeling paint, screens with holes, filthy water filled with mosquitoes in fountains, and unkept gardens. Cobwebs and spiders inside, things we used in kitchen had to be washed before you could use. The kitchen benches were so filthy. Had to use foil on bbq to use it as it was so filthy. Parts of wooden front steps were broken/rotted and we closed off so none of us used. Verandah rails were rotted. No remotes in TV or DVD worked. Batteries were exploded in the controls. You could not use the washing machine, and being interstate visitors, we needed to wash. That was gross.…

Having been to this beautiful historical B&B 2 years ago we were wanting to support the Warburton Community during our stay for the first time out of lockdown in 10 months. The views and area are stunning and our party of 6 (3 couples) thoroughly enjoyed the plentiful breakfast supplies however this is where it stopped. I would have hoped the time during lockdown to do some very needed repairs around the property but more importantly a thorough clean throughout! The condition is really unacceptable and as the hosts who paid for this 4 star luxury accommodation for our interstate friends we were incredibly embarrassed.

Disappointing indeed. Im sorry that you didnt enjoy your stay. After coming out of 10 months of lockdown, with no guests, no money, no government support and bills rolling in AND NOT allowed to go to the property it will take a very long time for small business' like ours to recover and catch up. We tried very hard to make you stay an enjoyable one but we couldn't do anything right, which is hard to accept because we ALWAYS try our best

We just spent our second stay at Charnwood cottages. Our second stay was even more enjoyable than the first! Belinda was so wonderful, I could not thank her enough for saving our rained out family camping weekend by accommodating us all in her lovely cottage! My sister and I love the story book charm accompanied by modern comfort and linen. It really is a special place. Even the rain could not dampen the mood when we were cozied up inside by the wood fire and playing the board games that are so thoughtfully provided. When the sun did come out we enjoyed strolling down to the river to take the kids exploring. The perfect location. We have now stayed in 2 of the cottages and both were charming and comfortable. I would very happily return to either cottage. Thank you thank you thank you Belinda. I will come back again not just for the fantastic accommodation but also for your hospitality. See you next time!…
