What a great way to Celebrate our 7th Wedding anniversary . Staying at the Mountain view Motor inn and holiday Lodge. We got the Mount William Suite, the rooms are large, has a spa and kitchenette . A beautiful view of the Grampians, swimming pool a spa. Nice and quiet , you are approx 9 minutes from the Hills Gap shopping area. A very nice place to stay. You are only minutes away from her Zoo which is a must , Barney’s Bar and Bistro ( great food).

After a long drive from Warrnambool to arrive at Halls Gap, we were not at all impressed. Upon arrival, there was no Covid-19 hygiene implementation at reception, nor any visible notices. First and foremost, it is really in need of a refurbishment. Secondly, the room was dusty, dirty, and dead insects/bugs and a few toe nail clippings scattered on the carpet. Also, the bed linen had yellow stains all over it. There was a disgusting smell coming up from the shower drain as well. Overall, a disappointing stay was had here, well overpriced for what it is. Do yourselves a favour and stay elsewhere.

We stayed here in December. The owners are super nice and helpful. We had no gaz for the bbq and they came right away. However mountain view is not an appropriate name as you can’t see mountains around, the road is a bit noisy when you enjoy the pool and there were spiderwebs in the bathrooms. Over wise it was nice.

Stayed one night here whilst doing a detour off of The Great Ocean Road. Great place situated just outside of Halls Gap, the pool was a real bonus and we all enjoyed a dip after a day of sightseeing. The best part for me was the stunning wildlife, kangaroos a plenty.❤️❤️❤️ Would loved to have stayed longer. Thank you

My brother and I decided to do a road trip to the Grampian mountains Victoria. My brother had previously stayed at Mountain View Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed it, so we looked forward to staying there. On arrival the manager couldn’t find my booking. It was as if he wasn’t expecting us. When he did find it he gave us a cottage which didn’t include what I had booked with him over the phone. When I explained this to him calmly he was more concerned that we had touched anything in the cottage before giving us the one I’d booked, with the spa. No apology given. On entering the 2nd cottage, we noticed very old chairs on the verandah, dirty windows and screens with a hole in the screen. To our disbelief their was a large hole in the floor which was open to the ground underneath leaving us susceptible to vermin or snakes etc. We had to cover it up. The bathroom had mould on the tiles. The water flow in the shower was very restricted. The TV remote didn’t work. The fire grill was very black and the fireplace dusty. It was almost impossible to read the oven temperatures on the old stove. On a positive note, it was a reasonably quiet location, the beds were comfy with lovely bedding and the cottage stayed warm with the reverse cycle system. Apparently this accommodation is under new management. I suggest they pick up their game if they want a share of the competitive market and happy guests.
