This room was lovely and so relaxing but I had a terrible sleep. The light from the hall was bright so I struggled to shut off. I didnt like the bathroom window as I felt people could see in so was a but conscious of going for a shower. My partner managed to cover it up for me tho. The bottom is frosted but there is a section at the top that's not. Other than that it was lovely.
We are not used to staying in hostels, but this had a double room with ensuite and nearly everywhere else in NW Scotland on NC500 run was fully booked. Slightly nervous but only thing we noticed was the lack of a TV – otherwise was exactly as a normal 3 or 4* hotel apart from no hairdryer or tea/coffee in room.
Stayed in an en-suite double room which was excellent. Modern bathroom and shower Friendly receptionist. Amazing location in a beautiful remote part of Scotland. Lovely dinner in the Walled Garden restaurant which is a 20 minute walk away
First hostel stay for us we booked the double room with en suite which was absolutely massive. There's a large comfortable bed and a seating area. A fantastic power shower. Everywhere was clean. A friendly and informative welcome. Covid compliant and masks to be worn in public areas. It was very clean throughout. We prebooked dinner at the Walled Garden and Applecross Inn which I can also recommend. Both are walking distance with the Walled Garden closest. Fantastic scenery and lots of local wildlife. We saw deer, owls, weasels and Highland coos. Take a tourch as walking back to the hostel it's very dark. Plenty of lovely walks to do in the area and you can see stunning sunsets down by the Applecross Inn. On our walk back we witnessed a massive herd of deer walking onto the beach foraging. Coral beach is a nice walk and the 2 beaches here are stunning white sand and turquoise waters. Definitely add this area to your NC500 trip we drove from Inverness via the Bealach na Pass which was great fun. I'd go back and would stay here again. …
All you can expect from hostel accommodation but the place is set in beautiful surroundings and is very clean and staff friendly. At the end of the road there is a small path that takes you down to a lovely little beach. Short drive from Applecross Inn but easily walked in 10 - 15 mins.
