Back here after 10 years have passed and we were sad. Back then the North Coast 500 wasn’t a thing and this site was very cool. We came two years in a row with our 5 children and they were blissfully feral, with the whole camping field to themselves. Returned this summer to experience it as grown ups and found the site a victim of its own success. Static caravans, tents crammed in like a festival and motor homes driving in and out all day long. A piece of paradise has becomes a capitalist nightmare. People on the NC 500 stopping for one night means traffic, car doors slamming and people driving about looking for a spot constantly. This charming place has lost its charm in terms of camping but never in terms of its breathtaking surroundings.

I love Applecross but a previous stay at this campsite was enough to put me off going back. I have to say, the site is a world away from my previous experience. The site has been extended and hard standings introduced. The new facilities block was ideal with 6 individual toilet/shower cubicles. Lots of space in them, although a shelf or pegs would have been appreciated to prevent my things getting wet. Plenty disinfectant spray and a brush and mop were there for customers to use, although few seemed keen to do so! The clincher on my praise came with the on site food facilities. We didn't eat dinner here, but it looked good. We did eat breakfast which was pricey but tasty, and a good start for the next leg of our journey. Yes the WiFi is pants, but when you travel round the North of Scotland you just start to accept that as the norm. We'll done on the improvements.

Have stayed here several tines before and it is absolutely superb. Gets the balance right between being organised and being relaxed. The location is a big part of it. Beautiful setting and an amazing road to get there. Handy for two quality eating places plus food on site. New shower block on second field is problematic. Individual toilet/shower rooms. Not a good use of space and frequent queues. I prefer toilet and and showers separated.

Well positioned campsite. Spacious. Small play park for the kids. Shower/toilet block near entrance could do with updating but other one to the rear of campsite was immaculate and seemed recently built/renovated. Excellent facilities for waste water and chemical waste disposal. Shop on-site, fish & chip van too. Would visit again!
