We stayed at Craigielaw for one night as we were visiting family who live close by . Such a lovely setting , cozy clean rooms and fantastic food. What really gives this place the sparkle are the fantastic staff . We stayed with our baby ( first night in a hotel ) and we could not have been put more at ease . Thank you to all the staff in the restaurant and kitchen who looked after us , made sure our wee ones food and milk was kept cold and went above and beyond with their customer service !
What a stunning location and lovely stay! Staff couldn’t do enough for us and views incredible…a great place for base camp for our trip for The Open. The lounge bar is thoroughly recommended for a night cap and views over the sea…will definitely be back!
We stayed here for two nights. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a golfpackage with dinner both nights and it was perfect. Nice menu with good food. The room was very big and nice. Situated on the ground floor and with a beautiful view overlooking the golf course. We are sure we will be back again. Thank you for a good time.
Stayed here with a group of 40+ ladies on a golf trip. The lodges were spacious, well appointed, spotlessly clean. The food we had, breakfast, lunch and dinner over a couple of nights was just fantastic. Such a great choice for everything. It was fresh, tasty, hot and great portions. But more than anything the staff were second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. They were so friendly, so helpful and just a pleasure. I cannot rate this place highly enough and would not hesitate to come back.
Rooms very spacious, WiFI, phone signal and TV signal very weak in rooms the staff have been great from reception to bar staff, breakfast toaster could do with an upgrade but overall the food has been great. The pro in the shop was very helpful also the course is very testing
we had 10 rooms booked for guests staying after our Xmas party as always rooms were brilliant, all sea-views, all immaculate and spotless non of us had wifi issues as noted in some comments, breakfast was good, unlimited and not rushed, in fact very relaxed Check in and check out was a breeze, car parking free and plentiful But as always, the staff are the icing on the cake, all worked their socks of for us, thank you, see you in 12 months time
We had booked in here as we had been in Scotland for the ladies open. Hubby has always wanted to play at Kilspindie and this is just across the Craigielaw course. We booked for 3 nights with 2 rounds of golf - 1 at Craigielaw and 1 at Kilspindie all via the helpful Shirley! We also had 1 meal included in the restaurant. Breakfast was included with a good choice of cereals, yoghurts, fruit and juice and then a help yourself choice of cooked which was excellent every morning. We found all the staff whether in the restaurant, on the bar or cleaning to be very pleasant. We had a view of the course and the sea/beach, which was just lovely. Saw some beautiful sunsets too. Our room was large with a lovely big bathroom and walk-in shower, towels changed as well as the tea and coffee replaced every day.…
Right from the phone call with Jennifer to book our accommodation at short notice to the bar staff, cleaning staff and breakfast this stay was exceptional. The place is spotless and our room was perfectly situated with great views over the golf course to the Firth of Forth and beyond. Thank you to all at Craigielaw. Highly recommend
My wife and I stayed three nights to attend the Scottish Open Golf--the hotel location is stunning we had a course/sea view the room was excellent. The food was amazing and the evening service outstanding many thanks to Josh who made our dining experience both pleasurable and memorable. However such professionalism did not extend to some of his colleagues, for breakfast I had to threaten to lay a table myself because we wanted a sea view, even though the tables were empty but not set this happened on more than one occasion--the re setting took seconds--after a fantastic evening meal I caught the attention of bar staff one of whom came to the table I asked for two brandies and was told to go to the bar and get them myself. Sort this out because the whole stay package could be exceptional.…
We stayed at Craigielaw Lodge whilst playing golf on the Lothian coast. The rooms were great and we had the most stunning view from our room. We were blessed with fantastic weather which added to our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and could not do enough, though a bit more training for some may have helped. Having said that we had no real complaints. For the standard of hotel the food was excellent, though we felt their wine was a bit pricey for what it was. The facilities were pretty new and the rooms were generous in terms of space. It was a great place to stay for accessing all the courses in the area and if you do not want to eat at the Lodge there is plenty of choice of restaurants in the area. The golf course was challenging and we thoroughly enjoyed playing there, you must stay on the fairway otherwise you can easily lose your ball. The greens were slower than Gullane and Dunbar but very undulating and not always easy to read, if they had been faster the ball would not have stayed on the green. Cameron you did a great job in the dining room even though that was not your normal job! Poor guy, in at the deep end.…
