Wow! What an amazing b&b. Sally and Robert are such great hosts and very helpful with recommending places to see and eat. Our room was enormous and the views from the window across fields to the sea were spectacular. Their breakfast really did set us up for the day. The garden is beautiful with a lovely seating area, and we were welcomed (at very short notice) with tea in the garden. Thank you very much Sally and Robert for making our trip to Scotland memorable for all the right reasons.

Robert & Sally make you so welcome! Lovely Tea & cake on arrival. Bedroom very spacious & comfortable bed. Lovely big private bathroom. Walking distance to the bay & local ammenities. The salmon & scrambled egg is a must, for breakfast. There is so much history around Aberlady & also Gosforth house & gardens is beautiful.

Gorgeous big house set in beautiful gardens just on the edge of Aberlady with wonderful views over fields of barley (complete with visiting red deer) to the golf courses of Gullane and Luffness. Very peaceful and large comfortable rooms. Friendly and chatty owners who serve a super breakfast and only mentioned the ghost as we were leaving ...

I stayed at the Aberlady Mains with my son for 2 nights. I was delighted with this bed and breakfast. We stayed there because it is very near to the 3 golf courses we were playing. The location is perfect for those choosing a golfing holiday in East Lothian. The house and garden are both stunning. Our twin room was ideal for us. It was clean, and spacious with a modern bathroom. Robert and Sally were both excellent hosts and made us welcome from the time we arrived, until we left for home. The breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast.

We (4 people) stayed at Aberlady Mains house for two nights during last bank holiday week end and I am so happy I decided to go there instead of a hotel in Edinburg! Robert and Sally were very welcoming and friendly. From the first email I wrote them to restaurant recommendations and bookings they were very helpful. The house is beautiful and decorated with taste, the rooms are huge and have great view over the garden or the sea!! the breakfasts were delicious with much choice and different on each morning! Robert and sally were lovely to accomodate my parents in law from India with some veg options. We had a very pleasant time and I will definately come back!

We recently stayed at Aberlady Mains House while our son was in a golf competition nearby. Robert and Sally were warm and welcoming during our five-night stay, with helpful advice on local places to eat, interested in how our trip was going and making sure we had everything we needed. Their home is simply stunning, with a lovely mix of all modern amenities in a lovingly restored (and beautifully kept) classic period property. It was a joy to come back to each day. Breakfast is generous and freshly prepared with cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, juice and a choice of hot food - the scrambled eggs are especially good - and these breakfasts were the best reason to get out of the seriously comfortable beds! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Robert and Sally's place to anyone staying in the area, and indeed we will be looking to return as soon as we can to enjoy their kind hospitality again.

This was a true gem we found during our trip to Scotland. The Hosts Robert and Sally were so warm and welcoming immediately upon our arrival. We had a lovely large Master bedroom with a view overlooking the fields and horizon from our second story windows. They had great recommendations for restaurants and suggestions of things to do for fun in the area. The location was ideal if your a golfer for the many courses in the area. Our room was quite and very comfortable. It even had a very large TV to match the size of the room. The best breakfast award for our 17 day holiday goes to Aberlady Mains. Lovely fresh cut ripe fruits, large selection of breads and cereals, and a hot cooked breakfast that was delicious. We would love to have the chance to revisit their home if we are in the area again.

Sally and Robert are lovely hosts very warm and welcoming. We were in Scotland for a Christening and could not have picked a more delightful spot. The room had a beautiful view of cornfields and Gullane. A good night sleep and a great breakfast.

This completely charming B&B is made even better by the welcoming and friendly nature of Robert and Sally, owners of the house dating back to 1740. Replete with period features (including the old maid bell system), this house is set in wonderful countryside and golf enthusiast paradise. Robert and Sally made us feel so welcome straight away, chatting to us and making us feel at home. They recommended a restaurant and offered to book it for us, and it was a superb recommendation (listen to what they have to say!!). They even brought us some drinks and a quick snack to keep us going before our dinner! Old houses can fill you with trepidation about water and warmth, but we were very comfortable in our room with sink and private bathroom just down the hall. The rooms is very spacious and comfortable, with a massive bed! The bathroom is a perfect combination of modern and classic, and the shower is simply the best I have ever had - super powerful and plenty of hot water. Breakfast is excellent - Sally's scrambled eggs are so good, we both had them every morning! Thanks both, it was a pleasure to meet you!

A warm welcome from Sally and John on arrival plus afternoon tea on the lawn set the tone for the week. A stunning house in beautiful grounds and first rate rooms. Big plus for me was the shower, I am usually disappointed by the trickle of water that most hotel shores offer, this was a power shower that was better than the one I have at home. Breakfast was also plentiful and everything freshly cooked to order. I hope to return again soon
