We stayed here in October when the site only had about a 25% occupancy which was really peaceful. We had a service pitch no 8 which was in a good position. The toilet blocks were clean and not far to walk to. The tv reception using the caravan aerial was good and we also received a good phone and 4g signal. The site restaurant was closed on Monday and Tuesday but when open they do a safe table service for food or alcohol. We were recommended the coast way walk to Brixham, only attempt this if you are fit as it is very hilly, about 6-7 miles and took just over 3 hours. There is an hourly bus service to and from Brixham with a single fare of £2.50. The Guardhouse cafe in Brixham is excellent for food and spectacularly views over the bay where there are about 8 redundant cruise ships. A fantastic site well worth a stay.…
Superb site with excellent facilities including a restaurant with take away and a shop. Well maintained facilities, especially during this difficult Covid time. Fabulous views from some of the pitches. Easy walk into Brixham via footpaths (then take No 18 bus back!) Bus is dog friendly too 🐾
Really clean, some nice views, lots and lots of dogs = lots and lots of barking, staff could have been less rude but still enjoyed and would probably return. Taxis very expensive into Brixham and Paignton, £13 for a 5 minute ride, tried to avoid on way back but bus cost £5 each one way..daylight robbery!
Positives Good location for bus to ferry for Kingswear/ Dartmouth / brixham (outside and regular) would say good to use as a base for events in Dartmouth Access to coast path (long steep lanes) for day walks Lovely view for lucky few pitches Two national trust properties close by Take away food available Covid band system in toilet blocks Staff helpful in bar area Good service points . Not so positive Sorry but pitches are close together and small. We had NO privacy at all, and observed same for many people. Would not return for this reason Told to find our pitch out of a choice of 3 which means driving round and round. One had someone on already . No idea why you can't be allocated Busy site . Holiday camp vibe (although great for kids I guess) Band system caused confusion for some or they ignored it and three times our bands disappeared from hanger.…
We booked in for 2 nights on way back from Cornwall. It’s a huge site with no help to find a free pitch, we were told to just drive around and look up the many cul de sacs - not easy with caravan in tow and other arrivals doing the same! We settled on pitch 9 which was rather small but easy to access, unfortunately we found out the play area was right behind and all we could hear was kids (all unsupervised) screaming and swearing all day until after dark. There may be some good views and better pitches, a lot of the pitches were very small, but we couldn’t face moving again, there were kids on bikes/scooters everywhere (also unsupervised - rather dangerous) it’s more like a holiday park than a Caravan Club site. Far too many pitches for the facilities and the toilet blocks closed for 2 hours at a time for Covid cleaning and with pool, bar etc closed too, there’s not much to do on site and need to drive to visit Brixham. In the end we left after one night. All in all very disappointed and won’t be back, we expected better from the Caravan Club.…
