We won’t look to stay in a Raddison brand hotel again based on our experience here. When we challenged receptionist about the room we were told “we are very busy at this time” - so no potential exchange was offered
Hotel is excellent. Brilliant location . I booked a premium seaview room , hotel identifies as a business room. Wonderful view of the harbour , Elizabeth castle and the sea . Room 459 . A couple of small things I found puzzling. 1/ the kettle and normal coffee tray was in its space stored over cupboard with fridge and safe, however no plug nearby able to connect kettle to. Even if the nespresso machine which comes with this room type( i really appreciated this ) hadnt been there the lead of the kettle , fully unwound would still not reach the plug that was plugged into. The only way I could actually plug the kettle in to use was to move the coffee table from the centre of the room , to the wall so I could just get the plug inserted . Shouldn’t have to do that . Also the super comfortable beds , 2 single beds together as a super king , as I say really a fantastic sleep , but the quilts were 2 singles instead of a super king . Strange . Breakfast fantastic quality with good buffet and items you can choose on request from an a la carte , included in the breakfast cost, staff were friendly and helpful . Just a 5-10 minute stroll to town , bus station etc or walk straight into the sea prom from the bar terrace . Would highly recommend and we will go back I’m sure to jersey and would not hesitate to stay here again when we do…
A smart, clean and very well run hotel. Room was excellent. Standards throughout including food quality were high. Very easy to park and convenient for local facilities. Harbour and yacht marina views from room are outstanding, interesting at all times. Small issue (light bulb) dealt with incredibly quickly. Good to see actual fire drill exercise carried out.
Clearly suffering from challenges recruiting competent staff. Locking your guests out of the hotel is really not smart. Very poor quality breakfast. The worsted scrambled egg I have ever encountered. Someone needs to teach your kitchen staff how to cook!
Though this was essentially a business hotel, its location on the marina in St Helier gives it a Mediterranean feel, with the Terrace being a great place to share a cocktail or after dinner drink. The pool and gym are good and the staff very helpful with a range of classes available.
As always this is an excellent choice for location on the waterfront next to the marina, handy for town and the promenade to St Aubin with its many beach cafes. The hotel rooms are spacious and modern though lacking in usb ports, though the front desk can lend you an adapter . Good sound insulation, blackout and air con. Fridge and safe. Worth paying the extra for views over the sea and Elizabeth castle. The spacious restaurant is pleasant with nice ambiance and a decent menu while the outdoor terrace is. Popular spot for a sunset gin and tonic. The spa gym and pool are small but not habilitation used outside early morning and evening; there is a steam room and sauna. The gym equipment is good and the staff are lovely and friendly. In fact the hotel’s greatest asset is its friendly and helpful staff: Viktoria on reception worth a special mention.…
Hotel ok. Our experience it is a business hotel rather than a holiday hotel. Breakfast very good, evening meal awful, slow service from the kitchen, poor choice, some meals not edible. Found the set menu for half board poor as it's only changed once a week Anything off the 9-5 menu in some cases we were incurring additional costs, making it very expensive for a party of six adults who were celebrating their parents diamond wedding anniversary. Having said that the waiters especially Herbert were very efficient, but having to keep apologising for how long the meals were taking. We also found housekeeping to be very hit and miss over the 3 rooms.
Have waiting over 2 years for this trip and was very excited to visit. Caught the local bus from the airport…..couldnt believe our first impression of this large hotel. It was completely flanked by huge blocks of unfinished apartments and an even bigger crane! So disappointing! I don’t understand why their blurb doesn’t mention this huge building project next door…..starting work at 7am every day including Saturday! That said the hotel was really nice, lovely lounge area, bed rooms not very exciting, but comfortable and clean. Had dinner here which was lovely. All staff nice and helpful. Indoor swimming pool much too small for amount of guests and changing rooms freezing! Overall had a nice stay despite the sky line!
Stayed here 10 years ago and went back this year with family - hadn't really changed much, although room was more modern. Panoramic suite had great views out to the castle and sea, but overall it wasn't quite up to standard for a 4* hotel. No real character, rooms a little shabby around edges. Room was huge, bathroom small and hadn't done much with the space (bath with shower over, but was a 2nd toilet and could have made more of space). We didn't eat here - was very busy, and struggled to get taxis as hotel out on a limb - so had to walk back after dinner. St Helier itself isn't great - fairly run down - other parts of the island were much nicer - and by comparison Guernsey was lovely.
