Great location, we had a Double Platinum Room over looking The Harbour. Unfortunately the room was very tired looking, furniture and soft furnishings could do with an update. The room was clean and bathroom big. Little touches like wine glasses in the room, tea and water replacement should be automatic. We ate in The Restaurant on our first night and the food was good. Drinks on the terrace was busy, but then it is the location! I totally understand that hospitality are struggling to recruit staff at present, but I have to say the staff seemed totally uninterested from reception to waiting staff! Breakfast was ok and twice we asked to sit outside, both times we were encouraged to sit inside until we insisted that was our preference! Would I return again, probably not, for the money we paid it wasn’t worth it!

We had a great holiday at The Royal Yacht staying midweek at the end of July. Our rooms were on the new side of the hotel and were spacious, well equipped and very clean with free water and biscuits replenished daily. We were at the back of the hotel on the 5th floor and heard no noise from the bar which we visited most nights. We looked forward to a hot cooked breakfast every morning and enjoyed fresh fruit, cereal and delicious pastries too. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff who were very pleasant and helpful and made our holiday special. We also enjoyed courtesy tickets to the Aqua splash too! The Royal Yacht is in a great location and very close to the bus station. We purchased a two day pass to visit the south of Jersey and found the buses reliable, frequent and clean. The Royal Yacht is perfectly situated for a wander through St Helier, close to shops, restaurants and the marina. We had a perfect stay!

If you think this hotel is for you due to its location, you would be right as it’s right in the centre of town, but that’s where it’s positives end !!! Looking for a restful, well deserved, long weekend in jersey you always promised yourself. DON’T BOOK THIS HOTEL I’ll be straight to the point why you shouldn’t 1. Very very noisy, outside bar downstairs in front of the hotel that stays open until at least 2am Fridays and Saturday's, 1am Sundays, and that’s when they just stop serving. The noise went on at least another 1 to 2 hours after these times just due to clearing the bar area and then the drunks standing in the paved area in front of the hotel eating take aways and odd few vomiting everywhere. Be Warned I’m not exaggerating, I like a few drinks like anyone else does, but this was just relentless 2. Breakfast, I understand getting staff is difficult at the moment due to Brexit restrictions and staff availability, I get that, but there is no reason for staff to be rude and unhelpful, we stayed 3 nights and each morning I had to ask several times for coffee before it actually came, one morning it didn’t turn up at all. Oh and watch out for the miserable chef making the omelettes, I felt he was doing me a favour making an omelette for me. I mentioned this to a fellow inmate at my table, he informed me his brother had stayed there a few weeks before and told him to watch out for the chef !!! 3. I payed over £1100 for 3 nights and chose a room at the front with a balcony and a view. This is where it was the noisiest part of the building, so paying for that extra comfort didn’t really work out. I forgot to mention, there is also a night club on the 2nd floor just to add to the noise. This hotel really caters for people coming in from outside the hotel and has no consideration for its guests. As I was leaving on Monday morning the council were setting up to jet wash the outside area, I asked them how often they did this, they replied “every Monday morning after the weekends mess” so that it looked respectful for the rest of the week. We drove around the island over the weekend and it’s such a shame we had this experience as Jersey is a beautiful island with lots of nice hotels dotted about the place. If E had only stayed in the Royal Yacht and St. Helier we would have properly never considered going back, I’m glad we took the time to explore the island and highlight some of the places we would revisit.

My husband and I spent a long weekend here( 29th- 1st Aug. The hotel was lovely but two big issues prevent me from giving a 5 star recommendation. We were on the 4th floor and our wifi was horrendous, kept trying to log in , had it for a few minutes then it went…. So beware if its important to you.. secondly the size of the room was less than impressive, ok we had a standard room but it was tiny! I’m 5”2 and kept bumping into the tv that was jutting out, there was very little room between the end of the bed and the wall on which the tv was on. From a health and safety aspect, it was dangerous. My pictures will hopefully show you what i mean. Other than that, it was clean, staff were lovely and all in all a clean and welcoming hotel.

When I booked this hotel I asked for a refundable booking due to many issues with flights from the UK. I was told this was not possible so against my better judgement I went ahead. Sadly our flight from Luton was cancelled due to the tarmac melting. On calling the hotel, cap in hand and hoping for some flexibility unfortunately I got a Rianne on the phone who was so rude, unsympathetic, kept interrupting me and would not listen to my very reasonable request. I did not want a refund I just wanted them to hold onto my money and let me re-schedule.. but alas they saw a chance to keep my money while providing nothing at all. Horrible attitude, horrible service and reading these reviews ..common practice!

Stayed at the Royal Yacht for a long weekend with friends. The rooms were fine, and nice to have things like complimentary water ( it was pretty warm ). Good-sized balcony - not that much of a view but we hadn't asked for one to be fair. The breakfasts were very good and hard to find much to complain about, though service was late one day with the toast and coffee. Staff did their best to be helpful, especially the reception / concierge staff. However we must take issue with the sheer volume of noise in the evenings especially. Hotel guests seemed to be disregarded in favour of local youngsters (and others ) taking over the outside space, obviously had lots of cash but little manners. Surely paying guests should be given proper consideration, another issue was the staging of a large, noisy corporate event on the 1st floor which thumped on until 2 in the morning. We would also like to ta take issue with the truly terrible piped music at other times of day in the hotel, especially at breakfast, we were informed this was chosen by the resident DJ - someone with better musical taste should be employed for non-disco sounds ! Most of the hotel guests appeared to be 50 plus - we could not recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay for this age group.

An iconic hotel in an ideal situation. Room was fine, if slightly small, with excellent bed and bathroom. Tea, coffee and biscuits supplied, plenty of coat hangers for a short stay. One mirror. Mixed views on staff. Helpful when my wife lost her mobile phone (subsequently recovered) and when I asked where ATM was (was taken to it rather than just directed which was nice touch). Not so much after we bought a couple of drinks to be told there were no tables available (there were, but I noticed that whenever anyone left a table the 'Reserved' sign was put on it. They weren't reserved). The Grill Bar was a nice quiet bar though once again, after having been served, we were told we could only have a table as long as nobody came in for dinner. As for Jersey, delightful as ever, though everywhere short staffed. The closing of The Troubador pub a major casualty of staffing shortages. The zoo is a must visit and the buses are as reliable as ever. We'll be back.

After reading some of the reviews beforehand I honestly thought people were being picky but I was wrong. On arrival it looked perfect and was in a great location. Reception made us very welcome and it was a very quick check in. Room 308 gold deluxe double with balcony. Bathroom had a bath and a separate shower with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, vanity set, shower cap, soap bar and a shoe shiner. A hairdryer was also included. The room had a flat screen tv, a huge triple wardrobe and shelving so plenty of space for clothes. There was also a safe for your convenience, free of charge, a fridge which was full of various drinks at a price, a kettle with complimentary tea, coffee and milk as well as biscuits and daily complimentary water which was an added bonus. There were also dressing gowns and. Slippers. Our room looked straight onto the yard bar and the museum . All week we had a lovely room maid called Lucianna and every morning she would have a chat with us and she was always smiling and happy. The room was done every day with fresh linen too and stocks replenished. She was a definite asset to the hotel. A friendly and smiling person makes all the difference to starting your day off good. The Royal Yacht is avery popular place and every Friday and Saturday the bars would be full with music playing until around 2a.m but the rest of the week it was quiet. There was a spa available to use but we didn’t use it but we did have a look round and it looked very relaxing. That I’m afraid is where the good parts end. We were booked for bed and breakfast and we found the breakfast was a big let down. When it said continental we were expecting what you would get in somewhere like Spain or Portugal. You literally had five large bowls with various cereals and no covers on them, some German danish pstries, a large bowl of mixed fruit, a large bowl of yoghurt, a plate of assorted fresh fruit and a fridge with various pro biotic drinks and yoghurts. For the hot eggs were made to requests and five tureens with breakfast items. Toast, tea and coffee were brought to your table. One of the mornings my coffee jug filter was blocked so I asked for a replacement and she had to ask the manager who came over to me. It was replaced but took a while. We never had evening meal or drinks at the hotel so I can’t comment on that. Whenever we passed reception there was never any acknowledge until the day we checked out and they were very friendly!!! Better Kate than never. Would we go back? No!,, it’s not for us but obviously many did like it. It is in a prime location to everything and everywhere with the liberty bus station being about a three minute walk

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Yacht for 3 nights in July 2022. We booked (non-refundable) on the hotel's website and the price was significantly cheaper than the options through comparison sites. The hotel was fantastic... - We had a Gold Deluxe Double room, which was pretty spacious and well kept. Our balcony looked out over the museum and garden (next door), so although we didn't get the views from the front of the hotel, we also didn't get the noise from the bar at the front. The air-con worked perfectly. The bed was really comfy. The bathroom had a bath and a shower. The room was nice and quiet (even when the museum next door were hosting an event). - The breakfast was fab. The staff were really attentive and tea/coffee/toast was brought over very quickly. There was a really good selection of hot and cold food and everything was spot on. (It was a buffet, but they were more than happy to provide table service of required.) - The spa was well maintained and super clean. We did A LOT of walking so it was nice to nip down to the spa and relax for an hour or so when we'd finished exploring the island. The spa has a pool, jacuzzi, sauna, two steam rooms, a relaxation room and foot spa. They did stipulate that you were to get ready in your room and take the lift to the spa in your dressing gown - which felt a bit odd, but at least it meant we didn't have to mess around with lockers or getting changed. - I'm quite anxious where travelling is concerned, so I'd been in touch with the hotel beforehand and they'd recommended nearby car parks (we hired a car). The lady I'd spoken with was really friendly and her directions were really helpful. We parked at the Pier Road multi-storey car park. It's 90p an hour between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday. Outside of these hours it's free. And it's only a couple of minutes away. There were a couple of minor negatives: - The shower leaked water ALL OVER the bathroom floor. We caught it early and managed to block it off with hand towels. But then we were left with sopping wet towels! - The room attendants were hit and miss. I used to clean hotel rooms on a weekend throughout college and I was always told that if you have to move anything to make/change the bed, then you put it back where you find it. But we came back from breakfast on the first morning and the things we'd laid out ready for the day had been moved here, there and everywhere AND they'd thrown away my husband's ear plugs. So that was quite disappointing. Despite these fairly minor negatives, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.
