I spent three nights at the Old Court House Inn. The B&B is ideally located in front of the Bay of Saint-Aubin, three minutes away from Morrison's and the bus stop leading to the airport and Saint-Hélier, both reachable within 15 minutes. It is also located at the start of the very nice path which goes from Saint-Aubin down to Phare de la Corbière and which is ideal for hiking, running or cycling. I had a single room which was clean, tastefully decorated with old pictures from the islands. The bed was comfortable. The room description mentioned that the room had a view over a courtyard: indeed, but beyond the courtyard, the sea and nearby fort. The restaurant offers good food and traditional breakfasts. Service was efficient, even though it was on a busy weekend. I would recommend to book a table in advance since the restaurant seems to be a popular place, particularly on weekends. All in all, I think it was very good value for money.…
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, lovely quirky property and a really great room. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay. We stayed for four nights in the Deluxe Double room which had a fantastic bathroom and a small adjoining terrace with a hot tub. We hired e-bikes from Jersey bike hire (a 5 min walk from the hotel) and explored the island on the numerous bike routes. The hot tub was very welcome after a full days cycling. Nothing was too much trouble for the hotel staff who helped with storing our bikes overnight and all seemed to really care about making our stay as welcoming and pleasurable as possible. We wish we had stayed for longer!
Had a very pleasant afternoon to evening at the Old Court House. Great location on the harbour at St. Aubin. After a few pints we opted to have a meal. The seafood linguine was very good indeed. Lovely place. Special mention for Sam who is clearly playing a blinder in there. They may be a bit short-staffed but Sam is ably holding the fort. It’s good to see someone making the effort for customers and selling the venue at the same time. That sort of thing makes you want to go back again and again. Hats off to Sam!
Always loved visiting for a drink or meal on my previous visits to Jersey but this was my first time staying here. I wasn’t disappointed it fully lived up to all expectations. Room was lovely and spotlessly clean, bathroom and shower great with a great selection of quality free toiletries. Food including breakfast was great as usual and with 3 real ales On hand pump the bar was excellent . Finally but not least the staff are lovely. I’m already looking forward to returning again
We booked this for our first nights stay in the area. The food was good. Service was average. The room we were in was very dark, more like the inside of an old galleon, rather than a courthouse. We both had the mixed seafood grill followed by apple and blackcurrant crumble with blackcurrant ice cream and cherry and almond brownie with ice cream.
My husband and I visited Jersey with our dogs, to stay with friends. We found The Old Court House via the Visit Jesey website as a dog friendly restaurant. I chose to eat here specifically as they had lobster on the menu. We dined "downstairs" in "the dog friendly bit". Booking was straightforward and we were even able to push our reservation back a bit after a busy day although on arrival we could see why as the place was pretty dead. When arrived the young waitress behind the bar was on her phone however, did quickly spot us and come off it to seat us. There was a wait to get menus, order drinks, order food and for our food to be served. When I enquired about the price of the lobster as it's POA on the menu I was bluntly told "we don't have lobster" with no apology or acknowledgement of my obvious disappointment. I opted for a sirloin steak instead. My husband ordered the chateaubriand with scallops. No steak knives were laid. My sirloin tasted like a cheap, pub rump and was cooked medium, instead of medium-rare as requested. I fed the majority of the steak to my dogs, enjoying the chips and my husband's scallops and ordering a pizza from St. Helier on the way back. My husband ate his steak but didn't enjoy it. The meal cost us £130 (without alcohol) so we weren't pleased. We weren't asked how the food was by our server when they cleared our plates and they weren't around as we ate, to be able to let them know our issues; we struggled to get drinks when empty for the same reason. The pepsi was nice. The ladies toilets were poorly fitted with a broken mixer tap which was loose and ill fitted and handwash jammed into it's wall fitting making it difficult to use. This could be a lovely place - it had a nice, cosy, relaxed ambience - but the food was very poor and the service was slow and inattentive. A complete waste of an evening and £130. We wouldn't return or recommend to others.…
We visited the Old Court House several times for a drink while staying on Jersey. We then decided we would have a meal there as it was so nice and friendly. The food was great (and not huge portions like some places feel the need to dish out) and service was quick. The staff were lovely, especially Lenayah and Lorena. Lenayah remembered us from previous visits and was so cheery and friendly she made us want to come back. A good pub with great grub. Will definitely visit again.
Absolutely fantastic. Stopped at St Aubin to visit the harbour and for lunch on chance. Great find. We both had lunches to raved about. High quality with good service. Enjoyed the Liberation ale too. Would revisit.
10 of us came for lunch and the food was good, the wine was good but standout had to be the wonderful service from Sam, it helped make it a great day. Thanks to all the staff and hopefully see you soon
Working trip, stayed here some years ago, the rooms have had a facelift a are nice, I had a single room which is small, the hotel was not busy but not offered upgrade as others do, nothing to complain about as what I booked, great location, parking easy opposite the hotel, nice staff and good breakfast, would recommend
