Me and my wife stayed here while celebrating our 10 years of begin together. We arrived at 4:00 on Friday and checked in the check in was easy especially if you pre register. We where in our room by 4:15. We were on the 11th floor in the corner unit and there was no one in the room beside us. The room was clean and updated. The view was amazing and we loved the whirlpool bath. The restaurant was great and had amazing food. We ate there Friday night and Saturday night. We will definitely be back to stay.

The Crown Reef hotel blew me away upon Arrival. This was my first time In South Carolina and I’ve never been to a hotel that looked like a castle. We arrived approximately 9pm so it appeared as if the hotel was glowing because of the lights. We were assigned to Tower 1 room 1103 Ocean View. The elevator was a bit cumbersome due to all the traffic so it took us awhile to get up to our room, which also happens to be the final floor. Now this is where the review gets a bit choppy choppy! 🥴… okay so when we walked in, we walked into a full kitchen, bathroom, double Queen bed, tv, chair, desk with 2 dining chairs and balcony. The room wasn’t all that great! I was honestly expecting more from such an extravagant looking hotel. The floors were filthy, the light under the microwave did not work, the hair dryer did not work and everything just looked outdated and dull. In the bathroom the trimming along the back wall was coming off and growing mold… just not my type of scenery. Especially during covid, you would think I would walk into a room that smells like cleaning products! (Then again we did see the confederate flag driving here and a big sign that said re-elect trump… so I guess we have people who don’t care too much about cleanliness) moving on… There were a few flyers on our doors to order food from. Tony’s and promo something… I thought that was pretty convenient and useful. It was a restaurant known for pizza. We are originally from New York, residing in Maryland and Reston, Virginia. I thought we should go with the pizza! Easy, fast, filling, convenient and better bang for our buck! The children had a slice of pizza but they did not like it. It was cold, stiff and just a waste of money. Don’t order Tony’s or from the other flyer. After we ate and showered it was time for me to relax. The kids were in bed and my man and I decided to sit on the balcony and sip on some wine as we wind down for the night. Some people were down at the beach shooting fireworks! It was so pretty to see! However, our nice night balcony experience was short lived because two huge cockroaches were crawling on the walls of the balcony! I was NOT having it! I am SCARED of roaches, so we had to go back inside asap! The next day we went to the Grab and Go bar. It’s covid and Nooooo one had a mask on, but they were all dining together at the buffet tables. 🤢🖐🏽 No thanks! I also received a flyer from front desk stating children 2 and under eat free…. Well that was false advertisement because I had to pay for my 2 year old son to eat! We chose the express breakfast and did not want to sit in the dining area, so they made me pay. (Unfair) The guy taking our order, I forgot his name… maybe it was Nick or something… but he needs a bit more training in customer service and explaining their protocol on how the menu works. I had to keep asking him questions rather than explaining the operation and the options that I had to choose from. (Annoying) aside from that, the breakfast was on the MONEY! 🤑🤤! Talk about southern Cookin! Now that’s where it’s at! We ordered cheese grits, scrabbled eggs, Pork Sausage links, hash browns and biscuits. I loooves the grits! They were perfect with just the right amount of seasoning! Okay now to the fun stuff! The water park! The water park was fun! The kids really enjoyed themselves! Due to covid it would have been nicer if the elevators were wiped down daily, along with the gate handles and more hand sanitizer stations

Great views of the ocean. It was a little south of the main boardwalk. So it was quiet and away from the congestion, but close enough to take a short drive and enjoy the grand strand. Really enjoyed all the on site pools. And the close proximity to the beach as well.
