I’m sorry to say that I will never stay at this location again unless there be some major, extreme adjustments! Upon arrival, we noticed a scent! Approaching the elevator, the side and carpet were filthy! This right away gave us a sign, that we were not going to be happy here! We get to our premium suite and the smell of mildew and urine inside! We call downstairs and requested another room! A little better, but still had and awful smell! We decided that we were not going to stay! So I informed downstairs and they said that they would send someone up to clean the suite! This suite was one of the best suites in the resort, but the conditions were awful! I brought my Mom here to celebrate her Birthday with a beautiful oceanfront view! Ruined! She is disabled and it was already late! I had already dragged her from one suite to another and she was tired, because we had to wait around for checkin! My Mom loved the view and she was only able to experience it that day, which was my plan for her entire stay at Coral Beach! My Mom noticed an awful smell coming from the sofa! She flipped over the pillows and there were infested bug spots! I then called and told the front desk that we were leaving! So I searched for other hotels in the area with oceanfront view, which were booked or extremely expensive for last minute reservations! Upon departure, I spoke with a female who did not want to refund me for this awful stay and the inconvenient in finding another Hotel at the last minute! So I then spoke to a manager! Who also didn’t want to refund me anything for the awful nite! But once I showed him the pictures, he only compensated me $83.00 for a suite that cost me $336 or more a night! I told him they need to throw away that sofa, especially after it was infested with bugs and replace the carpets in this resort! Also to keep pets out of your resort, because my mom also found dog hair on the side of the drapes and the urine smell could be from the dogs! Well all this ruined my Mom’s Birthday gift, of a relaxing oceanfront view! I didn’t do my review yet on Trip Advisor, which I am Zee Siley, a senior contributor and I do travel a lot and stay at many different hotels and resorts! But I’m very appalled with your customer service and the conditions of cleanliness and the smell of this resort! This is a beautiful place, but the upkeep needs major adjustments in order to bring people like myself back to this location! My Mom loves seating on the balcony, reading, listening to music and most of all napping with the oceanfront view! I will attempt to do this again for my Mom’s next Birthday! But praying we will have a better outcome! Dissatisfied customer! Mom’s Birthday View Trip Ruined! Zee!
Arrived at hotel in the evening only to be informed they had no rooms due to work being done. Moved to sister hotel we choose this hotel for location and not uphill as I suffer with arthritis. Didn't have much choose.they gave us up grade to sea view room plus half board. The other hotel ocean view was very nice but was up hill which I found very difficult found other guests had been moved.shame on you car allows hotels.seems to me they just over book.
My husband and I have stayed at Coral Beach Resort the week after labor day for the past several years. Our favorite thing about the hotel has always been that there is something going on at the pool and you're never bored or have to look for entertainment. There has always been a DJ or at least some type of music during the day then a band or some type of entertainment at night. We never had to go anywhere for entertainment. We were extremely disappointed this year when the ONLY thing the hotel offered was karaoke several nights. This has led us to rethink where we will stay from now on. In fact, that was a topic of conversation with many of the people there whom we have met staying at the same time every year. The hotel is great, but this was a huge disappointment
Let me first say that Coral Beach is a great resort and this was my fourth time visiting their site. However, this is the first time I have ever used their Cyber-Monday discount deal and, boy, am I sorry I did. The deal includes the normal 35% discount for booking more than 60 days prior to arrival, plus a 20% resort credit based on your total stay amount (not including taxes). This year, my brother-in-law & sister-in-law joined us as we told them how great the resort is. As we spoke on our first night in Myrtle Beach, I discovered their room rate was $450. less for the 5 nights than I was paying for similar accommodations. The only difference in rooms was they had queen beds and we had a king. The next morning, I was at the front desk and was told my room rate was higher because of the resort credit I was receiving. In essence, I was being told I was paying $450 more to receive a credit of $222. Didn't quite make sense to me. I came back later in the morning to speak with the manager. He advised the room rates booked in November are set "by the owners" and he could not match the rate being received by my in-laws. He did drop my rate from $222.30 per night to $189 per night, which I appreciate. However, math is not a strong point at CB. The rate reduction should have amounted to $166.50, my reimbursement was $154.84 with no adjustment for less sales tax. When we checked in, I had to calculate the amount of the resort credit for the desk clerk as he first came up with $155, then $186, before I told him the correct amount of $222. ($1111.50 X .20 = $222). My last issue has to do with the room we were initially assigned. Despite booking my stay 9 months in advance and despite calling a month ago requesting a room somewhere between the 4th and 6th floors, we were assigned a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool with a very limited view of the ocean. We paid a premium for oceanfront and ended up below the top of the palm trees. I understand that CB cannot promise a specific room or even a specific floor for that matter, but they were able to accommodate my location request in each of my previous stays. We ended up living out of our suitcase our first night and moving to a different room the next day. As I said when I started out, we truly enjoy our stays at Coral Beach and we do intend to go back. I just hope our future stays can be free of these types of issues.
Wonderful place been coming for years. David, pool bartender is wonderful and has been for last few years. Takes great care of us. Micky and the guys at grill good also. Entertainment good. Stayed for over 20 years and keeps getting better.
With more on site amenities and entertainment than any other Myrtle Beach resort, it's no surprise that the Travel Channel named Coral Beach "Best Family Accommodations". Some of the ingredients that make us …Morea destination and not just a resort include an on-site 8 AMF lane bowling alley, recreation center with video arcade game room, pool tables, foosball and air hockey, 10 pool attractions including outdoor and indoor pools, water park, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, kiddie pools, lazy river, children's activity center, his/her saunas, live entertainment daily on the pool deck (in-season) and karaoke nightly (in-season), family magic show (in-season), glow bowling, fitness center, General Store & Gift Shop and spacious meeting/banquet facilities. It's no wonder that families for over 20 years have found Coral Beach Resort & Suites the most fun place to stay. Less

Oops. I smoked on the balcony and never got charged. The fact that my room didn’t lock and the area is so bad they need security to walk around and monitor all day should be more of a concern. Oh, and the kitchen at the... More
Oops. I smoked on the balcony and never got charged. The fact that my room didn’t lock and the area is so bad they need security to walk around and monitor all day should be more of a concern. Oh, and the kitchen at the restaurant told us to not bother ordering food, “it’s awful”. They might want to focus on that more than what you’re doing on a balcony outside ;)
