With more on site amenities and entertainment than any other Myrtle Beach resort, it's no surprise that the Travel Channel named Coral Beach "Best Family Accommodations". Some of the ingredients that make us a destination and not just a resort include an on-site 8 AMF lane bowling alley, recreation center with video arcade game room, pool tables, foosball and air hockey, 10 pool attractions including outdoor and indoor pools, water park, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis, kiddie pools, lazy river, children's activity center, his/her saunas, live entertainment daily on the pool deck (in-season) and karaoke nightly (in-season), family magic show (in-season), glow bowling, fitness center, General Store & Gift Shop and spacious meeting/banquet facilities. It's no wonder that families for over 20 years have found Coral Beach Resort & Suites the most fun place to stay.

We found this hotel after reading many reviews and getting prices on tripadvisor. We wanted a place that was directly on the beach. We got a beach front room on the 6th floor. It was great to have coffee and drinks on the balcony. It was also nice to watch people on the beach. The room had two queen beds in the room that you walked directly into from the front door. Then there was a very small galley kitchen and the bathroom and then the living room. Ours had a couch, a murphy bed, a table and a few chairs. Also a TV. The bedroom was fine. It had a door that closed it off from the kitchen so it was nice and dark to sleep in. The kitchen was very tiny. It has a full size stove and full size refrigerator. A sink and a very tiny bit of counter space. The bathroom vanity was in a room by itself, then then toilet and shower. This was the smallest space of all. It helped to have the door to the vanity open but the door to the kitchen closed so it was not so dark. The living room was spacious and then the nice large deck. We flew in and did not rent a car. We took an Uber to the hotel and then we used Instacart to get groceries delivered to the hotel. We met them with a luggage cart in the driveway and brought our groceries up to the room ourselves. The counter space was small for trying to cut up stuff and two of our burners did not work. But later in the week we had maintenance come and they fixed them. It was about 15 minutes from when I called to when they arrived, so it was very fast. We loved going down to the pool and the beach. We actually checked our beach umbrella from SAMS club in as a piece of luggage and our two chairs fit in a duffle. So we did not have to rent. There were lots of people who had brought their own stuff so that wasn't a problem. The beach was great. The big pool was always clean and we had no problem finding chairs, no matter what time we went. I have to say, the lazy river was a bit of a disappointment. It was so slow sometimes you didn't move. And it was really a small circle. Also, they put out pool towels in the morning at the inside pool, which you have to go through to get to the outside pool and beach. If you don't grab a towel in the morning, you will not get one. They were never replaced after the first batch. When we got in, our room was not ready as it was only noon. We had called ahead about this and they said they would hold our luggage. So we went to the bathroom by the inside pool and changed, then gave the rest of our luggage to the front desk. They put it in their side room. It was marked with our names. We went back to get it when we got a text saying our room was ready. So it worked great. My only concern is that a new person was working and she took our word for it that the luggage was ours. So we are glad that no one before us took it! Overall, we had a good time and we pleased with this hotel. We would stay again. My husband did have to walk to the liquor store, about a half a mile as no one will deliver that to you. He said the area was pretty rough and was glad he went during the day.

We came in late at night as our flight was a late arrival. Check in was easy and smooth sailing. However the room and the building itself is old and dingy. The cleanliness is very poor perhaps bc the room needs some updating. I should’ve taken a picture of the floor lamp, the shade inside is so dirty with brown spots and it wasn’t even working after switching it on and off many times I even checked if it was plugged in. The only restaurant open when we came is the small eatery inside the bowling room. All options are fried and junk food. Nothing decent to eat. The lobby could use some updating but that’s not important. It’s a decent place to stay but I won’t go back if I have a chance. The outdoor pool is always nice and clean, I wouldn’t say the same about the indoor pool. The proximity to the beach is great as it is a beachfront resort. I wouldn’t recommend anybody to stay here bc for me the room isn’t clean enough.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean front rooms not partial views. Or just stay somewhere else.
