Room was clean , clean beds and bathroom . It’s nothing fancy but basic , clean room , pool was nice , short walk down to the beach. This place is for the vacationer that’s not looking for all the bells and whistles of a hotel . Basic room clean and priced fairly .

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! The hotel was absolutely disgusting and very disappointing. The room was filled with mildew, the bathroom had muddy boot prints and the tub was covered in black mold. The staff was as rude as they were incompetent. The manager refused to even speak with me and ran out the back door when I tried to confront her. When I asked the desk clerk to call her, she claimed she didn’t have the number. When I questioned her on how she would contact her manager if there was a problem or if she was sick, she responded that she “would come to work sick”. I said even if you thought you had COVID19 in the middle of a pandemic? She said “Yeah I would just wear a mask”. Really??? As I said, rude and incompetent! Another desk clerk gave me a key to a new room, but when I when I opened the door there was a woman sitting on the bed. I was mortified and the woman was understandably angry. The clerk gave me a key to another room and when I opened that door there was someone’s luggage in the room. I’ve been trying to track down the owner, Dawn to no avail. I’ve also been trying to get them to refund my stay. I REPEAT AGAIN DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Last Visit Ever! When reservations were made, nothing was said about a $20/night resort fee. I complained at checkout, was told it was for the use of city’s sidewalks. What a crock!! We had no towels. No Internet. Dirty clothes in drawer and the lavatory clogged. Water pressure is terrible. Only nice thing I can say, is beds were comfortable. We have stayed here many times, but NEVER again.

The Mermaid Inn was a sketchy place. Booked the room and when I got there they had my address wrong and my telephone number wrong. I had that corrected. The first few times trying to book the staff was not very friendly. I stayed four nights and it cost me over $800. The bathroom was in need of repairs. One side of a wall in the bathroom was rotted out. Above the shower the wall was popped out and the tub was filthy or maybe stained .

I was travelling home to North Carolina from a doctors appointment in Myrtle Beach in a storm. So, I decided to get a room for 1 night and checked into The Mermaid Inn. The remote didn't work so they moved me to a better room, so they said. It definitely is overpriced. I paid $239 and this is what I got. Highly disappointed and unexceptable!!!
