Very nice people but none of the employees were on the same page. One employee would say one thing and then the other would negate what the one other employee would say. The view was fantastic. Decently clean hotel. THE PARKING GARAGE IS THE WORST. DO NOT PARK DOWN THERE. Marks on my car from other people and no cameras. AND you CAN NOT maneuver down there. PLUS there was construction going on early mornings. Everyday I stayed. And we were not compensated for the early morning wake up calls from drilling and hammering. The best part was the FANTASTIC bar and grill right outside the hotel. Sad that such a great place can be overshadowed by the glaring discrepancies of this hotel.
We travelled to the beach to celebrate our engagement 30 years ago. We stayed in the room that had a great previous review (#308). We don’t go to the beach a lot and we have had some hit or miss stays at Myrtle Beach. The room was clean and had a full size refrigerator. I hate the small ones. You can’t put much in them during a lengthy stay. We both slept great and even felt like playing golf despite my bad back. Central heating/cooling so no load noise near the bed. Felt more like an apartment than a hotel.
We stayed for about 5 days in the off-season. My husband and 13-year-old son and I stayed in a unit. We reserved an oceanfront room with a king bed and a separate sleeping area for a double bed. The king bed is in the living area/common space, which I didn't love. When we arrived we were sent to the wrong size room; then sent to another room of the right size to find that it was not clean. FINALLY we got to the right unit. It was nice but not fantastic. The "ocean view" from the balcony was extremely borderline and rather disappointing. It was mostly a view of the parking lot, but you could see the ocean if you looked on one side of the balcony. It was adequately clean and comfortable. One reason we chose it was that it had a kitchen, and we wanted to make a few of our own meals. We didn't expect much of the kitchen, but it was so tiny that it wasn't really possible to use the full-size appliances. There is a nice pool on site for the summer months. If you want to swim in the off -season, you have to go next door to the Caravelle indoor pool. The main thing that was exceptional was breakfast at the Santa Maria restaurant in the Caravelle building next door. That's an awesome breakfast with custom eggs/omelletes and waffles made to order. It's not cheap, though, so it may not be something you'd want to do daily. The bottom line - if you get a good deal, this is an adequate place to stay and a nice location in Myrtle Beach, but you may be able to do better.…
This place is way overdue for a renovation. Our unit smelled mildew with the bathroom smelling like urine. We had to but a blanket over the sofa in order to sit on it, stained and smelled horrible. Front desk staff is awesome and helpful, unfortunately for them the units are individually owned and they only manage for them. Don't wast your money on this place we found several properties a little further north that are a lot newer and nicer.
We stayed the entire week and we loved room 308. It had the perfect view and a great King size bed where we could lay in bed and see the ocean. The view in the morning was breathtaking to say the least. The room has a full size refrigerator, a microwave and stove to cook if you wish to do so. It has a sleeper sofa which our son slept on for a couple of nights as we watched the Panthers play on a really great hd tv. There is also a tv in the other bedroom with a queen bed and it had a door that slides so the children can sleep and the adults can have a private room. I have never stayed at Myrtle Beach and stayed at a hotel that had a 20 foot balcony. The rates were great and we hated to leave.
