If you are visiting Clemson University, this is a perfect choice! You are essentially on campus and walking distance to everything. The rooms are generous size with table, chairs, and microwave/mini-fridge. The beds are comfortable and staff friendly. Highly recommend!!
Service: They are always friendly, responsive, and timely. Even during Covid, while other places suffered with sub par service, The Abernathy kept up the good work. Rooms: The rooms are large, with a little fridge and a nice table. There is a large bathroom, and a pull out sofa bed. The rooms at the end of each hallway look over the intramural field across the street, which is fun. The vibe is very lively, especially on game day, and by that I mean not just football but any game or event. But by night time, it gets nice and quiet. Location: cannot beat the location, campus is across the street; the athletic complex is super easy to walk to. Summary: we visit Clemson a lot and this is by far our favorite place to stay.
This hotel was wonderful! Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and large spacious shower. It was squeaky clean and very well maintained. The breakfast bar is not complimentary and was out of a few things but the bacon, egg and cheese croissant was excellent. Enjoyed looking at the Taps yearbooks in the bar!
Stayed one night at The Abernathy before our daughter toured Clemson. The location is unbeatable, the hotel is clean, well-staffed with friendly folks and the beds are comfortable. TAPPS is the name of their small bar/cafe in the lobby and they have old CU yearbooks dating back forever so it's fun to search for your friends who attended. TAPPS also has a pretty good breakfast and coffee in the morning, including iced lattes for the summer. Would definitely stay here again.
We booked this hotel because the other hotel I phoned didn't answer their phones. Boy am I glad about it. This hotel more than met our expectations. The room was very large with a dining table, living space, kitchen area and bed. We were there for just one night, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and I had the best sleep. We requested a late checkout and the staff was very friendly. This is a top notch hotel and I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends.
The room is very large, but I prefer two beds. I believe all if not most have a king with sofa bed. It was super clean, but the bottom of the shower could have used a quick swipe with a magic eraser. The room has a table with four chairs which is perfect for a family of four to have a take out dinner. The sofa bed had the requisite bar in the middle of your back, but my 9 year old didn't mind too much. The air conditioner was a little loud. I felt that the lvp floors made it a little louder than I would have liked, but we slept well. The front desk personnel was very friendly & the cafe lady was nice. The location cannot be beat! We stayed there while my son attended the Dabo football camp.
We love this hotel and stay here several times per year. We enjoy the spacious rooms and use the 4 top table and kitchenette with each stay. We bring real coffee mugs along to make our morning coffee more enjoyable. The fridge is awkwardly located but sizable and functional. The bed is super comfy! We love walking onto campus right out the front door. The front desk folks are always helpful and welcoming. Our dog loves to go to Clemson and this is his favorite hotel! Thank you Abernathy for hosting our family including our boxer!
The rooms are ok. But, the person upstairs is walking around as if they want to join me through the ceiling and the noise is ridiculous. But, the kicker is that there is fa fraternity next door with a live band playing at 100/11 p.m. It is so loud that I can hear it through the walls and windows. Would not stay here again and would not recommend it.
I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful the staff were. Bartender was great. Clean room and bathroom. Plush towels and plenty of soaps for the shower. The bed was more comfortable than any hotel bed I've ever slept in! . I stayed in a corner room with a sofa. I could hear the people above me walking around and the tv was dated. Overall a great experience because cleanliness and customer service were excellent.
I stayed at The Abernathy recently with my family and absolutely enjoyed my time. This was my first time staying in the area and I’m so happy we had the chance to stay here. Charity was very welcoming and treated my family so kind. I’m happy to have received her hospitality. Go Tigers!
