We were staying near by in Somerset, and discovered Trent House Inn after driving through Laurel Hill State Park. Had a great breakfast with excellent service. I had the house made corned beef hash topped its poached eggs and a side of home fried potatoes. Looking forward to a return visit.
We just attended a wedding and reception here. What a lovely experience! The bride and groom chose this venue because they had stopped in for brunch one time and were really impressed with the old Victorian house, the quaint dining room and the good food and service. The staff was amazing at accommodating about 50 guests for a cocktail hour and a sit down dinner after the wedding. The setting was intimate and cozy and yet the service for the dinner was quick and very professional. Roast pork loin and stuffed flounder with crab meat were the entrees. We were able to peek in the bedrooms because the wedding party changed there. Very nicely decorated with antiques.
I surprised my wife with a weekend getaway to the Trenthouse Inn, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience!!! MaryAnn is such a wonderful, caring and gracious host and went above and beyond to make our stay as perfect as possible. The Inn itself is incredible, especially if you like colonial style houses that speak of history and offer a cozy experience. We stayed in the Blue room, which like the other rooms, was wonderfully decorated and felt inviting and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was nothing less than spectacular. I ordered the Saucy Skillet which was hearty, warm, and delicious. My wife had the Spinach and Feta omelet, which she said melted in her mouth, it was that good! After spending the day out around Somerset, we retired back to the Inn, and had a very nice sit down chat with MaryAnn. You don't get this kind of experience at a hotel, believe me, I travel a lot for work. We really got to know her and shared life stories and experiences. The next morning, again, was a stunning breakfast of Crepes and Eggs Benedict, of which MaryAnn and Chef Jeff cooked up for us. We didn't want to leave it was so perfect, but it was time to head back to reality. I highly recommend the Trenthouse Inn for any occasion and will be going back again soon, only if just for breakfast or to stop in to say "hello" to MaryAnn and staff.…
We just got home from a lovely stay with Marianne. We stayed in the Blue Room and it was so nice and clean. We had dinner at the Restaurant last night & Marianne, Jeff & Lee made such delicious food. I had the Pork chops with apple stuffing and sweet potato casserole and it was so good and they gave me so much. My husband & I both enjoyed our delicious meal and had such great service. The Breakfast we had this morning was outstanding I got the Baked Eggs in cream and I loved it. We will definitely be back again. Marianne and her her Staff were so gracious and kind.
A "local" told us we should have a brunch at TrentHouse Inn, so we decided to check it out. We did not see the rooms, but the inn itself is a lovely historic home, and the wood-paneled dining room is comfortably rustic. We had a hard time choosing from the breakfast offerings (Breakfast is served all day.), but the server said their special baked eggs in a spinach-mushroom cream sauce with cheese on top is delicious, and we both opted for it. It was as good as promised, and it was NOT too salty, a common problem with cheese dishes these days. The entire bill for two was under $20, which is significantly less than the brunch for ONE at Seven Springs resort right across the street. I REALLY wanted to try the pumpkin pancakes, and my husband wanted some sausage gravy and biscuits, so I guess we'll have to go back. (The strip steak and eggs sounded great, too, but that is more than I can handle.)…
