Just returned from a one night stay where I took my 11 year and four of his friends for his birthday. We stayed in a basic room and this was our fourth trip here; we travel about four hours from upstate new york. The first day we rented "premium seating" for $215 (total is with tax). Tables were stuffed next to each other and the phone ordering did not work so we had to chase down our over worked waitress anytime we wanted anything. We decided to go to dinner around 5:30 and told our waitress that we were coming back. When we came back, our chairs were stacked, towels removed, and belongings put underneath the hostess stand. That was annoying, but we put the chairs back out and arranged our belongings again, since we were told in writing we had our "premium seating" until the park closed. Went on a few rides, came back, and the chairs were stacked again. I mean, ridiculous. We spent about $200 on food and drinks at the cabana and $300 on dinner, $200 on the arcade. When we woke up the next day to check out, I had received a text message that we were going to be charged for towels we never returned (please note, the waitress/whomever removed them from our "premium seating" when we were at dinner). I called and spoke with the front desk four times, until finally someone named Alvin said I was not being charged. He even stated he was going to put a note on my account. I went to the water park towel center and explained this to them as well. I also spoke with the woman who was was renting the cabanas for that day. They all told me not to worry about it. Well, this morning I woke up to charges for these stupid towels. I immediatelyl called BOA and reported it as a fradulent charge and spoke to another front desk person named Kim on 5/16 at 7 am to have them removed but seriously?! Please work on your customer service. I am livid. Will 100% never return after spending over $1500 at this place for one night. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Of the hotel itself: be warned, everything is over priced. They say no outside food or drinks but i watched at least two people unpack coolers with snacks and drinks for their family. Rooms are basic and a very long walk and kids run up and down the halls screaming. Would recommend looking into Camelback or Great Wolf Lodge instead. Again we will NEVER return.…
Many of the recent reviews are tough and seem tied to a particular situation. So...hoping my assessment will be a bit more objective. Overall, it was a good time but the pricing is just a bit intimidating. Our check in was easy and friendly. Our room was fine. Clean and up-to-date but certainly nothing remarkable. The shower had no pressure and the bath products were horrible. I didn't think they made bottles that small! Note: this hotel is huge. When checking in you may wish to request a room near the lobby as the walks back and forth can get long. The lobby and other common areas were inviting and well maintained. The waterpark itself was good. Plenty to do for all ages and pretty well-kept. It does get crowded; I would hate to be there on a day when the hotel is at full capacity. Bar service was super slow and the drinks were a bit more expensive than they needed to be. $8 for a 12oz can of beer? Dinner at Sortinos was pretty good despite the spotty service and again, overly expensive drinks. The arcade was really expensive as we blew through $50 in less than a half hour. And the "prizes" were insulting as you needed thousands of points to get a trinket. I didn't care for the $40 "resort fee" that was added to our bill without explanation. Of course it's a resort; why do you think we are here!? Also didn't like the premium we had to pay when booking in order to have the ability to cancel. Overall we had a good time and it's a nice resort. But in the less than 20 hours we were there, we spent just north of $800 (family of 4; room, a couple of drinks, dinner, arcade, light breakfast and modest souvenirs for the kids). That said, would I go back? Answer is: maybe. If we can go on an off day where the rates are better, I would totally go. But on a Saturday night (as we did) or other high demand time where prices are high, I doubt it. Lastly, I wish TripAdvisor allowed half stars. The hotel was better than average but I wouldn't say very good.…
Made a reservation 2 weeks ago. Paid over $1,300. Someone hit my husband 2 days ago and totalled my only vehicle. I canceled my reservation yesterday for this Saturday-Sunday. I was able to purchase a new vehicle to transport my family for this vacation 2.5 hours away. I called and asked since xyz (explained what happened) and the money was taken if I'd be able to get the reservation back. I was told "no and no refunds". I feel like there had to be something that could have been done. As I didn't expect to have my car hit by an idiot just days before my vacation and the money was all taken in full that we could have been accommodated in some way. No empathy whatsoever. I will never attempt to take my family here again as life has a way of ruining things and people just don't care and that this was unexpected and my kids are devastated.…
Lets start with the check-in and check-out processes. No issues here we checked in at the front desk and had contactless check-out. Everything went smoothly and the staff at check-in were friendly. The rooms are average with basic amenities. Nothing special but nothing to make me want to return. The facility and grounds were very nice and well maintained. One thing they did right is provide an ascetically appealing resort, especially the lobby. The waterpark.....I have a 10 and 16 year old, you would think they would have loved it and spent every second wanting to experience the rides, but no. They really didnt enjoy it that much and ended up shooting hoops in the pool. The staff at the waterpark gave inconsistent guidance. One gentlemen allowed 3 girls to ride an attraction and 2 minutes later refused us citing that the ride required 2 or 4 riders. I didn't argue because the sign did say that but to witness 3 riders be permitted just a few minutes before us was disappointing. The next day we received more inconsistent guidance on the use of water shoes. One employee allowed it and a few minutes later on the same ride we were told we cant wear them and "Dont come back to this ride again with them on" At a minimum, the staff needs to be re-trained to ensure they are all aware of the rules and are providing consistent guidance to its customers. One employee responsible for ensuring riders were ready, didn't speak English and was alone so nobody could answer questions. I can look past all of this as I do not expect perfection but what is really a slap in the face is the price of everything! I understand overpricing given the situation but you are not getting any sort of quality for the price being charged. It's fast food at restaurant prices. For the price you would pay for a stay here, including meals, you are better off starting a fund for a all inclusive vacation where you can swim and eat all you want in a beautiful setting with service friendly, attentive staff. Would we return to this resort? No. There was nothing that made us want to return, even if the prices on everything resort-wide dropped.…
10/10 do not recommend booking here. First the prices are an absolute rip off, $500 for one night and only 2 out of the 5 of us would’ve been able to fully enjoy the water park. (1 is pregnant and the other 2 too small for most stuff) Second, the customer service is awful. After having two separate family issues that left one of us in quarantine, and one that wouldn’t be able to do anything at the water park due to injury, we made the decision to cancel our reservation. We canceled four days in advance, keep in mind the current cancellation policy allows cancellation up to one day prior without charge. Somehow our cancellation policy was different, and we had to cancel 30 days prior, or they retain the deposit. No big deal, except they didn’t allow a deposit, we had to pay in full at booking. In other words, they aren’t allowing any type of refund. Long story short, I wouldn’t book here again, unless I have a 30 day window that I’m able to stay in the safety of my home to ensure nothing happens that would stop me from going.…
