It's an aging doubletree. A lot of crowds gather outside at night. It is a conference center as well so you'll have foot traffic in the main areas. The rooms were starting to show their age but it was still clean. I'd say if you get a good price, go for it. It's in the middle of an industrial park, but the onsite bar and cafeteria is helpful. Weird parking, park on the lower level to be on the ground floor and by check in. Or, the upper level which I think is floor 5? Gotta love Pittsburgh hills.
Last minute we decided to stay overnight in the Pittsburgh area to break up a long car ride home. We enjoyed staying here, our room was clean, our bed was comfortable and our check in/out was seemless. We had dinner at the bar and had a couple of good burgers and cold beers with a very attentive waitress. The next morning we opted for the breakfast buffet, a little pricey but very satisfying nonetheless. The outdoor pool looked lovely, had we had more time, it was a pool I would consider using. Thank you!
This hotel has seen its better days. Being a long term Hilton customer, I was shocked to find how old, dated, and generally unclean this property was! In addition, the heat/air unit malfunctioned all night making for a very warm room! Stay elsewhere!
Stayed for two nights. Sept 23/24 2022. Room 1621 The TV doesn't get half the channels it's supposed to and the ones it gets are pixelated or fuzzy. Unacceptable. The remote doesn't work even if the TV did (only has UP channel). Unacceptable. The refrigerator doesn't get cold even turned up all the way. Unacceptable. I went to look for ice and had to got to three separate floors to find an ice machine that worked. Unacceptable. I attempted to contact the desk. No answer after many.many attempts both on hotel phone system and through customer service. Unacceptable upon unacceptable. There also NO signage or info anywhere that indicates what checkout time is. With no way to contact anyone, the only way to find out is to walk down to front desk and ask. Unacceptable. There is garbage, literally ROTTING GARBAGE, laying in the vending/ice rooms, and in the elevator lobbies. This is WAY past unacceptable for a doubletree. I've stayed at these before and only slight problem I've had was a billing issue that was handled efficiently. The room was clean and, while not brand new, I found it acceptable for the size and age of the facility. I attempted to file a complaint via the Hilton corporate site, the CAPTCHA keeps saying not verified. My only recourse is just to leave negative feedback and move on.…
This was far from a Double Tree experience. When we arrived around 9pm, a nearby college football game had recently ended so the lobby was crawling with people. While waiting at the counter to get keys, the customer in front of me asked where should she go to smoke. The attendant told her “as soon as you get out of the door” (which is not correct per the sign on the front door telling smokers to go 20 feet away). But this foreshadowed the hotel’s stance on smoking in general. When we got to the floor for our room, the entire hallway smelled like pot. The room itself was dimly lit and smelled of stale smoke. The lamp shades looked like someone had been playing soccer with them (cracked and dented). With the swarm of people and time of night I knew there was no reason to go ask for a new room so we went to bed and hoped for the best. Around 2am, it was as if someone was intentionally pumping pot smoke into our room. It was awful and I woke up with a sore throat and terrible allergy symptoms. I stay at “nicer” places in hopes that I don’t have to deal with things like this. When we checked out I complained to The front desk staff. She offered 5,000 points which is a complete joke. I told her that I wanted money off the bill so she conceded to half off the room rate for the night. She asked me who was smoking ….how in the world should I know when the whole hall wreaked? All they have to do is ask their cleaning staff to report what they smell. Do not stay here. It is not nice.…
We are Diamond members and have stayed at Doubletree in Greentree several times this year and as always had a wonderful stay. The room is always comfortable, great breakfast at their coffee house and the team members are always pleasant. We will continue to stay here each time in the Pittsburgh area.
The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful, the room was quiet, the hot water tap gave hot water, the A/C worked beautifully, the fridge kept things cold and the bed was good. Housekeeping even helped us out quickly and cheerfully when a bout of food poisoning messed up the linens. What more could we want? Well, towels. A back up roll of toilet paper. Carpet that is clean. Wastebaskets emptied at least once - did I mention we stayed for five nights? Walls and door jambs that are clean,. Elevators that don't break down. 'Rooms that smell clean - we had to try three different rooms before we found one of those. And at the end of the day, I would like for all charges that appear on the credit card statement to also appear on the bill. Tomorrow I will try again to talk to someone in Accounting about that one.…
When we visited Manchester we want to stay in a hotel which should be walking distance from train station. We selected Double tree by hilton. Which was very near say just 2 minutes walk from Main train station. It was a good hotel very clean and cooperative staff. Brealfast was also good enough. Couch station was 7 minuted walk from there as on the checkout day it was train strike and we have to move to Liverpool. We have taken couch to reach there. Hotel reception was very cooperative as we reach hotel much before checkin time but checkin staff give us food room without asking us to wait.
Doubletree was a nice stay despite being pretty busy due to a yarn conference. The elevators were not great; we used the stairs. Pool and hot tub were nice and the work out room was great. Not near any neighborhoods - its a drive to get anywhere.
This should not be under the Hilton name. Upon arrival, our fridge had juices and various used drinks and was filthy, used panties on the closet shelf, an earring on the rug and the toilet running constantly. I would definitely not recommend this property.
