If you just want clean, basic , no frills in this area of not many choices this is the place for you. One small overhead light in the bathroom You could even get a better first impression if the outside was power-washed and nicely landscaped
Very good place to stay for an overnight. Super clean and Carol was extremely helpful. Good drinks in the Tap Room. Great price. We visited Fort Ligonier the next morning just a few miles away and would also recommend that attraction too. Extremely well done fort restoration.
After visiting Idlewild Park, I decided to stay nearby rather than staying in Pittsburgh. This is a nice quiet country inn built in the 50s with more recent additions and remodeling. Friendly staff, nice rooms and good rates. The bar on the ground floor has a nice selection of beer and some decent basic bar food. I will plan on staying here in the future.
This was our first time at Inn at Ligonier. As in a previous post, the inn used to be a personal care home and the second floor still has the industrial rubber floor, smell of bandaids (personal care home) obvious nurse station and rec room. The hallway rather dark and reminds me of The Shining, without Jack and the two creepy girls. The bedroom (205) has a queen bed with rented sheets, two night stands, a lamp, a closet, a clock, dresser with mirror and bathroom with small shower stall. The window does open bit has a ballet style bar in front of it (senior citizens to help in and out of bed)..the window can be opened to the outside and there is air conditioning plus flat screen tv. The wallpaper reminds me of a personal care or staying at Grandmas. The tap room has delicious assorted drinks including beer, food, a pool table and more. The staff goes above and beyond for their guests. I would stay again...…
Arrived on a nasty, snowy evening and got the last room - but it was exactly what we needed! The super-friendly staff made our stay very special. They actually rolled out a carpet to the car so my 90 year old mother-in-law wouldn't get snow in her shoes! The place was very clean, nicely furnished, and in a nice setting. Great TV lineup and wifi, too. We hope to revisit next time we're on the Penn Turnpike.
