We stayed in the carriage house which allowed us to have private breakfasts which was very quiet and relaxing. This is a lovely historical home in convenient location of Lancaster. The innkeepers are very attentive to their guests. It was a lovely stay definitely a place to come back to!
King’s Cottage offers historic charm to go along with the graciousness of the innkeepers - Ann and Janis. Both are passionate about making their guests feel right at home and very welcome. They go above and beyond to provide quality service. Breakfast is a 10/10. I am very appreciative that they responded to my last minute requests to celebrate my anniversary with my wife. King’s Cottage is strategically located in Lancaster, PA - convenient to Amish country, dining and entertainment venues, and various other activities. Our trip was way too short. This will definitely become an anniversary tradition for me and my wife.
Just returned from Lancaster, PA. We are so glad we chose to stay here for the weekend. The home is gorgeous, warm, and located directly in the middle of everything you want to explore in Lancaster. Our hosts, Ann and Janis were amazing, and so helpful with guiding us to the very best local spots. Waking up to the smell of bacon cooking was an added bonus. We are already talking about our next trip, hopefully before the holidays!
I was warmly welcomed by Janis and Anne when I arrived. I reserved the Contessa room since it had its own entrance and room was as beautiful as it appeared on the website. I picked a DVD from their library and enjoyed a relaxing evening. The next morning breakfast was a treat. The “floating eggs” was delicious and well as muffins and poached pear. I purchased some souvenirs that decorate the main area as gifts for family and myself.
They were so welcoming and accommodating in every detail without being in our face. Friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were out of this world - like European cuisine. Rooms were immaculate and sheets especially comfortable. Beautiful yard. Playing with Mickey was like having a dog again. Janis and Ann were so helpful with ideas for local trips. Their recommendations for restaurants were true to their words. They have personally tried each of the ones they mentioned. And we tried 4 of them.
Just returned from our first trip to Lancaster and the magnificent Kings Cottage B&B. This was our first travel since the pandemic began, and this was the perfect location. Ann and Janis are taking every precaution and we felt safe and welcome the entire time. This is a beautiful and exceptionally comfortable inn. In our too brief stay we took advantage of everything the inn had to offer and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I haven’t yet mentioned the breakfast, and it was spectacular! You will wake up early anticipating breakfast time. Thank you Janis and Ann for welcoming us back into this brave new world.
My husband booked this Birthday weekend for me before the "pandemic" hit. Luckily for me, Lancaster went "green" in time for me to enjoy my weekend. Janis, Ann and Mickey helped to make this a quite memorable weekend. Friendly, welcoming and just calming. The Inn was immaculate and beautiful. We stayed in the Queen room and it was perfect! I highly recommend booking your special times with these wonderful women. Given the opportunity, I will be visiting again soon! Thank you again Janis and Ann....Please give Mickey a cuddle for me! Enjoyed two nights in the Princess room....and I felt like a princess. Quiet, comfy room with a beautiful balcony. Inn keepers were friendly and informative. Entire inn was extremely clean, comfortable, on site parking, tea/coffee/hot chocolate and snacks available any time. Small fridge, microwave, toaster....so much to make your stay enjoyable !
Last weekend we spent 2 nights at this lovely home and enjoyed everything about our stay. The hosts, Janis and Ann, were ever so helpful with many suggestions for dining and activities. They arranged our tickets to Sight & Sound Theater for us and made sure we had seats in their favorite section of the theater. They also told us the best route driving to and from the theater to avoid the heavy traffic. The breakfasts were amazing and delicious - grilled peaches, ham and cheese crepes with mango-lime coulis, orange french toast, pesto parmesan potatoes, etc. Everything was served on fine china in the large dining room. We stayed in the King room which was quite large and very comfortable. There was a bit of noise from the street but it didn't disturb our sleep. This room has a separate bathroom down the hall (really just a few steps) which is private and not used by any other guests. We were able to lock the bathroom with a key when not in use. The bathroom was extremely large and boasted the original cast iron tub and pedestal sink. Both the bedroom and bathroom had lovely stained glass windows. We had a delightful stay and would not hesitate to recommend this to others.…
Just spent two nights at King’s Cottage. Ann and Janis the owner hosts were wonderful and knowledgeable about the Amish and the area. We even went to an Amish family’s home for dinner with them. The house is beautiful and rooms we had were very comfortable and well furnished. You can’t go wrong by staying here. Did I mention that the breakfasts were delicious. Alan from New Jersey
