A unique hotel to say the least. We were very satisfied until we came in on the second day and NO housekeeping was done. We had no clean wash clothes or towels, the trash cans were full and the bed was unmade. After paying $170 per night not including taxes, we felt like we should have at least had a clean room. The desk workers just said that the cleaning staff had already left and just handed us a bunch of towels…. It takes a lot for me to give a bad review on any service industry. If this had been one of those cheap $70/night motels, I wouldn’t have said anything…. But this was our anniversary trip and we chose this hotel because of the good reviews. Won’t be back and definitely cannot recommend to anyone else.
Hotel inside and out is really nice, a very welcoming feeling as soon as I stepped through the door. Room was pretty good, comfy, clean, just perfect. Great location for easy walking distance from the nearby train station. Loved the idea of a sketch pad in the room, sadly creative spark was a little lacking after a days travelling. Wish I had booked more than the one night here, as the hotel and area is really nice. If you stay here, I recommend a quick walk around the corner and check out The Fridge, especially if you like various beers and tasty pizza.
Great to find a hotel that is not the typical formulaic American hotel. The rooms are large an comfortable and quite rustic in design. The staff were really friendly and very helpful. I asked to move rooms as the original room seemed to be vibrating/humming due to the AC in the corridor, and they could not have been more understanding. The only area that could have been improved is breakfast which is pretty basic, but not a real issue, and there was plenty of food, just not a massive choice, e.g. no fresh fruit available. I would definitely stay here again.
I find myself staying at the Lancaster about once a year. The last few times, without a reservation and looking a lot disheveled. The quality of service remains strong, even for the unexpected guest. Your experience here will be far above any "chain" hotel.
This hotel is filled with artwork from local artists. There is even art in the elevator made by the guests who stayed at the hotel. Each room is provided with a sketch book and pencil; your artwork will live in various books in the lobby or in the elevator. Our room was beautiful and inviting with brick walls filled with art, a sumptuous king bed, wood beams, chairs and sofa, desk & large TV. We even received a beautiful red rose on our door. The bathroom was big and well appointed. The continental breakfast was very good with fresh fruit, pastries, cereal, and even an automatic pancake maker. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and knowledgeable about where to dine and see the sights. The on-site restaurant was extraordinary. One of the best hotels we have stayed.
What a great stay! This hotel is so very interesting, the staff is kind and attentive, and the guest room was fantastic. Our stay started with a great front desk experience. Leandra was incredibly attentive. We had booked 2 rooms and somehow one reservation showed that it was canceled. Leandra let us know and then quickly and professionally rebooked one of the rooms. Once in the room we were treated to a large room with sofa, chairs, a large and inviting bathroom and many amenities, chief among them the art! Our room had work from an artist named Fred Rogers. Not the Mr. Rogers, Fred. Really interesting work. Breakfast was very good. They advertise free continental, but I'd call it an expanded continental because they did offer breakfast sandwiches, a pancake maker, as well as yogurt, fruit, cereal. You won't go hungry. Thanks again for a great stay!…
Everything at this hotel was great! Juan and Nathaniel provided awesome front desk service! checkout is at 12, which is unbeatable! 20 minutes from sight and sound and in the heart of the city. Can't wait to go back!
I stay here quite often for business. It is a beautiful place; comfortable and quiet. The staff is friendly. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are kept clean. There are a lot of great restaurants in walking distance and baseball park is right across the road from the hotel.
Unique, very clean, great stay. Staff very nice, coffee in the room, meh - coffee at the breakfast bar - excellent. I need to have 200 characters or trip advisor won't post my review. The Lyle Lovett concert was great.
“David “ was in town ! Excellent show at Sights and Sounds Lancaster. The hotel staff is amazing, very informative and detailed with the hotel operations . The only side note would be more options for breakfast service, the item choices were limited and lack the same focus as the Hotel.
