The hotel is a good value. The location is very good. The hotel itself is clean and functional. The staff is friendly. Easy parking next to the hotel. The hotel is modern, but has a retro feel - room size and layout, paper receipt under the door, friendly check-in staff.
We stayed at this hotel for a wedding. Room was small and dark. Bathroom light was broken and flickered on and off like a strobe light. Bathroom shower didn’t have any hot water. No waters were provided in the room. I wouldn’t stay there again.
The staff was incredibly friendly. Jeff checked me in, & he also gave me some suggestions for nearby dining. I spoke with several others at the front desk, & all were very friendly & talkative. The hotel itself is nice. The lobby looked great decorated for Christmas with the wreath above the counter & tree off to the side. The room was modern, with a great clock. I love when hotels have the clock that displays the time not only on the front but on both sides (so it can be seen from beds on either side)! The location is right downtown, easy walking distance to many things. Parking is available in the garage right next door, which is convenient. The garage is under construction currently, though; lots of lower level parking spots are blocked off. The only cons I have is that I wasn’t offered my welcome amenity bag or points upon check in and two (of 3) treadmills in the fitness room were out of order. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay here again.…
This is the second time this month I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn in Lancaster. They have the friendliest helpful staff. The rooms are lovely, clean and very good sized. Parking is very easy and adjacent to the hotel and reasonably priced. It’s a great location to walk to the Fulton Theatre , which you should not miss, or the Ware Center.
My dad and I both had rooms, and since I know he won’t write a review, I’ll include both our experiences… Dad- He specifically asked if there was daily housekeeping and was told yes. He asked twice. The first day he did not get it. Second day he did but also got a non functioning toilet in the process somehow. One of their keys did not work after checking in and a new one being made then caused the other one to stop working. He was particularly upset there was not coffee available before the restaurant opened at 7 and was super annoyed it was only grab and go breakfast Monday and Tuesday. Me- Since my dad was told there was housekeeping I didn’t ask. Big mistake! I have two toddlers which lead to huge messes when eating that grab and go breakfast in our room and a lot of smelly trash! I tried calling the front desk to ask about it and the phone did not work. My room was not ready until 3 hours after check in. I was told they’d comp parking but did not. Speaking of parking, the structure is a nightmare! It’s not run by the hotel, but staff did know the steps and elevator were out of service and did not warn us. Walking through that with two toddlers was scary. The cribs I requested were not in the room when it finally was ready. I had to remind them at check in that I paid for breakfast, and the restaurant hostess told me they often forget and it’s a hassle for her. My husband asked the night front desk person a question and he basically said he did not know because he just worked night. What?!?! Our bathroom tub stopper was broken, shower made a terrible knocking noise, and the door would stick so bad we tried not to close it. Another minor issue was the pool was not heated, but their site claims it is. If the front desk staff had been kind and maybe even just better trained I would’ve forgiven the rest and given 5 stars. But their rudeness really just makes it hard to give a good review or recommend this hotel at all. The woman who handled my check out was the only one who did seem to know what she was doing and was nice. The other three people we dealt with sucked.…
Holiday Inn should be ashamed to have their name associated with this hotel .. dirty, dirty hotel ... 1st room given smelled like puke .. re-assigned room small (not as bad) but TV was broken .. when moving to a 3rd room told the security/maintenance staff about the smell and he said "Oh yeah that is do to the wet dogs we allow in the rooms." Bathroom in 3rd room was almost falling apart .. best described as a pipe coming out of the wall masquarading as a bathtub spigot ... we will never return to this hotel and urge all travelers to stay away ... the only positive thing I can says is the fitness room was new and worked. Holiday Inn time to clean up this dump of a hotel or sell it.
When I arrived there was no tea in my room. On my first morning there was no shower gel in the shower - the containers were empty. On my second evening the restaurant had run out of ingredients so could only provide quorn-based food. Despite asking, my shower gel had not been replaced. The worst thing of all is that the staff simply didn’t seem to care - reception staff were pretty shocking. I’ve stayed in IHG hotels more than 100 times and this was - by a country mile - the worst
Great location and friendly staff (thanks for all your help Ahmed!). Accommodations were clean and well maintained! Parking is easy in the garage next door and there are lots of great restaurants within walking distance.
Do not stay at this hotel. It is unsafe. I have stayed at this hotel twice. Once in 2021, and the other just this week. BOTH times, the fire alarm has gone off at a random hour in the evening, and everyone has piled into the stairs in a stupor to leave the building. Both times, there has been no actual fire. Now an isolated incident like this is no problem, but the fact that I am 2/2 on these late night fire drills at this hotel suggests that there is a significant safety issue with the fire alarm. This is further highlighted by the fact that, one year ago, the management told me “oh yeah, this is just something that happens here, it’s been happening every so often and there’s something wrong with the system.” This time, a manager said that it’s happened a couple of times just in the six months that he’s been in charge (I understand that about six months ago, a new management team took over). Well, nobody seems to be taking the problem with the fire alarm seriously. I have essentially 0 faith that the fire alarm works as intended, and that if there WERE a fire, that the alarm would go off as it is supposed to. I also have no faith that anybody is addressing this issue with any haste. At a hotel, I basically only expect two things: safety and peace. This hotel delivers on neither one. So, with that in mind, I won’t be staying here again, and I highly recommend you choose a different hotel as well.…
Everything was great! Front staff and AGM were so friendly. Walking distance to all kinds of great shops, bars and restaurants. Bed was super comfy. Bathrooms are a little on the small side. Breakfast was delicious in the restaurant!
