We stopped for a night on our way from Buffalo to Ocean City, MD. Wish we’d booked longer! It can be hard to tell from photos, but renovations are fresh and the whole place immaculately CLEAN. The rooms smelled of peppermint. Kids (6,8) loved the playground, pool, and free cookies. With the ragtime piano playing on the speakers and historic aesthetic, I was immersed in another world and my smile never faded. The front desk staff was very friendly. I’ve been on cruises and to Disney and the steamboat inn is on par! Paired with the Magic & Wonder show down the street, our stay was absolutely perfect! One thing to keep in mind - the whole world is short staffed right now, so book your breakfast reservation in advance and go early.

Response from Nick Sikking, Guest Services / Front Office at Fulton Steamboat Inn
Responded 4 days ago
Our crew here at the Fulton Steamboat Inn is totally ecstatic to see that all their hard work has culminated in a perfect stay for you and your family! We are so happy to hear your children enjoyed many of our amenities on our property, and perhaps if you were to stay with us again you could curl up and rent a complimentary movie from the front desk! We are truly flattered by your comparisons to Disney for our quaint, Victorian themed property! One advantage to our Steamboat compared to a cruise line is we will always be here in beautiful Lancaster County! On behalf of the entire Steamboat crew, we sincerely hope to see you and your family again soon!

We frequent this inn more than a few times in the past and since Covid they are not the same. After leaving the bar my wife and I wanted to go to our room and have some champagne we forgot glasses and asked for two glasses to take to a room .I’m sorry you can’t do that was the answer received, it wasn’t like we were going to steal them. We were staying in one of the premium rooms.

Overall our stay at this hotel was great, but I did notice a huge lack of attention from some of the staff. It really seemed the majority of the staff didn’t care to pitch in and help when things got busy. We had dinner at the tavern on Sunday night and everything was left to one waitress to handle. She was amazing(think her name was Nicole) especially for how busy it was, but we noticed several other workers(front desk and maintenance guy) that were standing around and doing nothing to help her! We were tired of watching the situation and said something to the front desk about helping her out, this didn’t seem to work so we helped clear tables. Shame on them, especially the maintenance guy milling around doing nothing who only seemed to care about pestering her to see if his food was done. If is wasn’t for her great service and communication with us, we would have left. Shame on those people who were doing nothing!

Convenient to tours I was taking and local businesses. Hotel has a gift shop, restaurant, bar and pool and hot tub. The pool is open 8 am to 10 pm plus 10pm to midnight for adult swim. They give you vouchers for fresh baked cookies each night that you redeem at the front desk. My one complaint is that the bed was uncomfortable. It felt like a thin mattress was laid over wooden slats Some times no one was at front desk or register in the gift shop. You need to ring a bell for service. I had breakfast one morning at the restaurant. The pancakes are huge

We were there 714-7/6 for a mini vacation and like always never appointed. Clean hotel, clean rooms, great friendly staff. Kids enjoyed the pool and playground. I’ve been staying here since 07 and have never had one problem or complaint. I can’t wait for my next visit. Oh and of course the chocolate chip cookies delicious as usual!!

Really clean, vintage style; homey hotel. We stay on the sun deck;adults only. I really love it here. In the morning, we get to see the Amish working their fields. A beautiful duck pond, gazebos.. the grounds are Disney worthy. If you’re into totally modern, this isn’t for you. If you’re into character, charm, homey feeling, great ambiance.. book now. Great for families and couples alike. Bar and restaurant on premises. Love hearing the clip clop off the horse and buggies from the balcony. I’m fussy (beyond) with cleanliness and I’m totally confortable here. Ironically we’re in the SAME room as our last visit!!

I had no (low) expectations coming in for a one night stay with a family of five. We were all pleasantly surprised by our stay. The boat theme is very well done throughout the inside and outside of the hotel. The bunk room was great for a family with three kids. Very clean throughout the hotel. Staff were super friendly. Loved having complimentary coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Great location to many activities in Lancaster. Outdoor spaces were perfect for some outdoor time after dinner.

Amazing getaway with little kids! We played in the playground, swam in the pool, made s’mores, played in the arcades, fed the ducks, and ate amazing cookies from the front desk! Our five and two years old had the time of their lives! The staff was very accommodating and the rooms were spacious and clean!

The Hotel is immaculately clean. The staff from the front desk to housekeeping to restaurant staff were so nice and helpful. The rooms were big. Enjoyed the pool especially adult swim from 10-12 midnight. Ate at restaurant for breakfast. The food was delicious but make reservations because on busy 4th weekend you have to wait

Second time we've stayed here when we drive across PA. The lobby is nicely decorated and the staff are great. We stayed in a family style room with a king bed and a bunk bed for our two kids. The room was very clean and quiet. Ducks walked by our room in the morning (outside our window) and the kids enjoyed that as well. We love the mini-golf (not owned by this hotel) across from the property. We arrived at 9:10 pm and immediately went to golf because it was still open! A great late night thing to do after driving all day. The only minor issue is the restaurant doesn't open for breakfast until 7:30 and we like to get on the road earlier than that on roadtrips. Hopefully they'll open earlier by next year. But that allowed us to try a donut place called Beiler's in Lancaster that made about 20 different homemade donuts so it worked out! A very nice hotel for families. Would highly recommend.
