We have stayed at this hotel many times for our quick trips to Amish country. This is the first time taking the kids to the hotel pool. This is my issue. The water was freezing. Like my son got in the water and tried to see if his body would adjust and he was trembling. You know happens when you put a child in cold water and then put them in a cold air conditioned lobby to go back to the room? A cold . They really need a heated pool during the cold months or close the pool. Then the elevator lights went out - do you know how long it took to fry and wait for the other elevator with cold wet kids? Too long. So we took the dark elevator only to have the children screaming the entire time as we had to use our cellphones for light. It is safe to say we won’t be back in the winter or for a long time. Traveling with kids is stressful - even more so when the hotel adds to it. Location is ideal but this was not a good experience for our trip.…
We had a great stay from check in to check out. Helpful front desk, clean facilities, clean room, nice breakfast selections. Beautiful Amish Country! Close to anything you may need. Small indoor pool.
This was our third time staying at this hotel. Last time being August 2021. I don’t know what happened since, but we will not be staying there again. Staff wasn’t overly friendly, especially the breakfast staff. We unfortunately had a room in front which was close to the highway/parking lot and all we heard when we were in the room was traffic noise! I hardly slept because of it. I live on a quiet street and don’t hear traffic noise 24/7. I don’t remember hearing the noise the last 2 times we were there. Plus one night we heard the guy in the next room phone conversation and then music at 2 am (I believe it was 2 different people). It was not relaxing at all! Walls are thin! We had to keep the fan on all night to try to drown out some of the noise. Breakfast was awful! Stale bagels, packaged waffles which was like eating 100 teaspoons of sugar! They were gross! Breakfast sausages, am not a fan of breakfast sausages. Luckily one day they did have bacon. The only good thing I can say was the room was a good size and the bed was comfortable, if only I could fall asleep from all the noise! We like the location too that’s why we stay here. Next time we go to Lancaster, I will make sure the hotel isn’t on a main highway!…
This was my third visit to this hotel, but this time the quality seemed to have gone down a bit. We stayed in room 222, once we got in, refrigerator had half drank soda and a trash can was not empty. The bathroom smelled like wet mop as if they just wiped the area with used towels. The TV was horrible, at first it didn't work, but upon looking into it, previous guest had unplugged the power. I thought it was a prank, but there was a reason. The TV wouldn't react properly to the remote. Many times when it responds, it would take 5 -10 seconds, sometimes volume would be way too high and only way to shut it up was to unplug the power. The breakfast was ok, it had eggs, bacon for hot food, premade waffles in a bag and few bakeries. Is it horrible? No, but it was just ok, but my last visit few years ago was excellent. Not sure what happened.…
Was not the nicest Marriot property, but was fine nonetheless. Short drive to everything you want to see and a short walk to shopping. Good breakfast, friendly staff and a clean room. Very small pool.
This hotel is very clean and nice. I was only there for one night, staff was helpful. Breakfast typical nothing out of ordinary but the staff made sure that everything stayed plentiful. They were very attentive.
The room was great. The location was great. However the staff was the most inhospitable I have ever encountered at a Marriott property. The receptionist who checked us in did not sound/look welcoming, did not acknowledge my loyalty status, did not offer a welcome gift. In fact all employees we spoke to or seen around reception area looked bored and grumpy. We were in the hotel for a 1/2 marathon in the area, and had to leave the hotel about an hour before start of breakfast, however when I asked the evening before if I could get a banana, the answer was « no ». This is all a bit unpleasant, however not the end of the world, and I would have never said anything, if thé hôtel did not charge me for 2 nights instead of 1. We checked in on Friday, booked two nights, but decided to leave after one nigh stay. We asked for a late checkout on Saturday instead, and were told it was ok. I handed in the key cards to a sleepy and uninterested receptionist around 2 pm on Saturday. However, the hotel has us checking out on Sunday at 11 am (I was crossing Canadian border by car at noon). My attempts to speak to hotel staff over the phone resulted in « well, we’ll call you later, but not until tomorrow, because someone is not in, and I have to home at 4 ». The attitude of staff is so indifferent, so rude. I do hope they refund the money for the night I did not spend there. Rest assured, they will never have to put up with me again, as I will not be staying there again. (Stayed at this property three times before, all was amazing).…
Quite disappointed with our stay. For a Marriott brand, we expected more. The good stuff: clean room upon arrival, adequate breakfast, ample gym space and equipment. The bad stuff: no cleaning service, requires 24 hour front desk notice if requesting a cleaning (unfortunately, I was not made aware of this upon check-in), the swimming pool was not available (the kids were very disappointed), very understaffed (by observation, the front desk staff and the other staff looked stressed out), got charged for our stay which was prepaid (I had to contact the booking site and get charges reversed).
This hotel will have the basics. If you are going to Dutch Wonderland, this is a really good option as you can walk to it across the street. Being a Gold member they upgraded my room during the busy Labor Day weekend which was much appreciated. The staff are helpful and nice. Breakfast is simple with most staples but not an extensive array. They do have some healthy options like yogurt, fruit, plain oatmeal, and hard boiled eggs. There are options to keep a toddler content. There are a couple things that could be improved (breakfast tables and benches could be cleaner and upon checking into the room our shower was out of soap). You need to call down for any housekeeping issues which is fine by me but they should make sure the self dispenser soap and shampoo is full before someone checks in. We didn’t spend much time at the hotel and the location is perfect to explore things like Strasburg railroad and Kitchen Kettle Village. It’s also right next to outlet mall shopping. I would return for the location convenience alone.…
Very nice staff , rooms are clean BUT room 201 was SO LOUD from the mechanical room below- the hum was almost deafening. It was even louder in the bathroom. Very hard to sleep with the noise - I couldn’t drown the noise out with the TV. Ask for another room!!!
