Very comfortable room with parking right at door; Very quiet, and not too far from either Moss vale or Bowral. All the facilities you could wish for. Friendly , helpful staff. The separately managed Briars Inn next door is very close , and looks attractive, warm and inviting. But disappointingly it really offers pub food at a high price.

Briars Bistro disappointing We booked for lunch and arrived 5 minutes early. Very off hand and unprofessional front of house ( woman with glasses and topnotch hairstyle). The other lady using the booking system was polite and friendly. The cafeteria styled area had a few customers and we were placed near the entrance door/table for 2. We were offered to sit in another area but being our first visit we had no idea if it would be better. I felt like I was in the Peter Jones Cafeteria in Chelsea UK. Functional but charmless. Turns out that if you book this is where you are placed. If you walk in ( no booking) you are placed in the smaller cosier rooms which have a bit of the ‘Cotswold’ charm. Steaks are priced from $40 to $47 and we decided to just have pizza and their famous potato bake. Both were ok. The coffee and lamington were delicious. The artwork on the walls are gorgeous and wish them all the best but can’t say we will return with friends to show them the best of the Southern Highlands.

Room Tip: Ask to sit in the lounge area as the dining room is like a cafeteria with uncomfortable chairs

What a great place. Excellent location just out of Bowral, lovely views over their gardens and lake. Warm and comfortable rooms with good lighting options, plenty of space, excellent shower (in our room, over the bath). King size bed with just the right firmness. Friendly staff, parking just outside the room. Really nothing to fault !! Also, excellent tavern/pub right next door.

We booked a standard king room and was not disappointed. Our room came with a direct lovely view of the lake. More importantly, it was clean, comfortable and big even by Australian standards. We like the split levels with the lounge, sofa and dining table on the lower level. There was a microwave oven, tea-making facilities and a safe in the room. The staff was very friendly & helpful and even gave us 2 complimentary batteries, declining our offer to pay. We had a very comfortable stay and would consider staying here again next time we visit Bowral.

We did enjoy our overnight stop here in q one king bedroom deluxe room with a mini kitchenette but plenty of space and beautiful surroundings with a fountain lushes green grass. Just gorgeous! A very quiet night sleep and a good bed. The bathroom a bit old and in need of a facelift but it worked. We couldnt have dinner there as it was not available perhaps because of corona virus, not sure so we went into town to the Irish Pub for dinner. Had fun there!
