I booked this hotel for a business trip. The photos on their website over sell this property. The public areas are clean and offer a nice experience, however when you get out of the lift onto the floor above it changes.....the carpet is bare and fraying all the way down the long hallways, I walked into my room and was overcome with a 'damp/mouldy' smell, the carpet had not been cleaned to a standard expected and the walls needing immediate updating. When I ordered room service I was told I would have to collect it myself from the bar! I collected my meal and then walked a very long way back to my room with a tray of food and glass of wine (not easy) to find my swipe card did not work. I had to leave my tray outside my room (getting cold) and return to reception to have it sorted. There was no apology, just a 'try this' attitude. The bathrooms are very large, stark and cold. When getting ready for bed the sink tap began gushing water from the wall connection. I used towels to mop up the water and eventually got it to stop. When telling reception the next day it needed fixing she didn't even bother to note it down. I noted bus tours are using this venue, I hope they were getting it a discount. My accommodation was over $300 for the night not including dinner! My advice - stay somewhere else!…
Booked this hotel for an anniversary weekend. The damp smell in the reception area and in the carpeted corridors was not pleasant. The room was fine and had a nice view of the golf course and fountain. Stayed 2 nights no housekeeping done you get a drink instead??? No room service but you can order takeaway and then go down and carry up your tray to your room?? Paid way to much for what was a 3 star hotel. Carpet needs replacing, walls need repainting and something needs to be done about the smell. Breakfast was basic and already cooked. No cereal, limited options and either white bread or white sour dough! Extremely disappointing. Would not stay again and would not recommend.
Fantastic service from Staff member Pragya Very helpful and so lovely We had a great time and will def recommend the hotel Food was delicious Enjoyed a cocktail near the fire Thank you to the young man who served us at the bar
I love Bowral and what it has to offer but the Gibraltar Hotel is way overpriced for what it is. I actually don’t have anything bad to say but I also don’t have anything nice to say. We paid $420 per night and was expecting a little more than a dated room. We have stayed in a lot of hotels and don’t mind paying for a luxury hotel, but this just isn’t worth the money. I hate leaving negative reviews but there is nothing special about this hotel. Either lower the price or up your game.
Booked this hotel for tonight. Room is located at the opposite end of all the facilities. It’s pretty much the furthest room and a fair bit of a walk. During check in I was told that we can get room service but when we called to order food later on, we were told that we will have to pick up food from the restaurant. My partner wasn’t feeling well so we couldn’t go out for dinner. Mini bar price list in the room but you have to pick up the items from reception. It’s quite a pricey hotel considering the poor service.
