I’m normally wary of motels but the photos and accommodating spaces for large groups drew us in. We were delighted with the front desk staff and the privacy afforded to our party of 4. The furniture while antiques were clean and definitely a blast from the past. The appliances, while retro looking were modern and adorable. I really enjoyed sitting on the front porch during the morning and quietly enjoying some coffee while watching the world go by. Here’s a tip: The check-in desk closes at 9 p.m. so go before the park closes. The staff is just a cherry on top-I’ve never met a more hospitable and accommodating tight knit crew. Their recommendations for dinner and snacks were on point! My view of motels have officially been turned on its head and I’d gladly come back again.

Stairs don't meet codes, the room was musty and smelled, the bed was made by someone with less care than me. We left before we got fully in the room. Then the fiasco of trying to get our money back (we were checked in through Expedia for two nights). That was my error and I will do things differently next time. The room was just not what was advertised.

We stayed here the weekend before the 4th of July. I must say it was the best stay as far as a room we have stayed in since we have been traveling back and forth from North Carolina to PA. We stayed in one of their two bedroom apartments. It has that at home feel to it. The desk clerk Beth was sweet, polite and very helpful. I even had the opportunity to meet the Son of the owner Sterl. Actually he's the Co-owner. Talk about a down to earth person. I simply loved his vibe. He's very polite and he has greatest positive energy. Believe it not, I didn't even want to leave. This place will forever be my home away from home when ever I travel that way. I can't wait to get back here again.

We stayed at Simmons last summer and were pleasantly surprised by the cute motor lodge vibe, value pricing, and proximity to Hersheypark. Perfect for a place to sleep in between 2 days at the park. Sadly this visit was not the same. We checked in at about 6pm, and the front desk woman was very friendly and helpful. We entered the room and it was hot because the AC was not on. The room was cute and would have been fine if the temperature was reasonable. We turned on the window unit and walked to dinner expecting it to be cooler when we got back. Sadly, it seemed the unit was not functioning properly and it was actually cooler outside, so we asked for a fan. The front desk employee offered us another room. We moved all of our stuff out and into the new room which was clearly a long-term type of rental apartment. It was also very hot, and smelled of old cigarette smoke and mildew. At this point, we just wanted to leave so we asked for a refund, or partial refund or even a credit towards another visit because it was not our fault that the AC was broken and that the other room was not suitable for a family due to the poor air quality. The owner denied all of these options and stated that we would just write a bad review anyway (which is not true- I am here because of the way it was handled). So buyer beware. If you opt to give this place a try, ask to see the room and check that the air works and that it does not smell bad. If we had received a credit or partial refund, we would have given it another try because of our previous good stay, pricing, and its location : (

I enjoyed my stay here this weekend. It's in a great location in downtown Hershey at an affordable price. Front desk service was extremely friendly and helpful when needed. Room has fridge and microwave and is very cozy. It is a little dated and noise can be heard somewhat easily, other than that very nice and I'd recommend.

Two-star hotel is about right. Room was dated, definitely needed some love. Heat worked. Shower was hot. Didn't really spend much time in the room, so served my purpose of just somewhere to crash while off playing at Hershey Park. Reception/Staff were neither mean nor nice... just, they did their job and that was it. No small talk. I knew what kind of hotel I was staying at and had my expectations set so I can't complain. If I were to go to the same area again I'd probably spend a little extra for something nicer. Some off-street parking, but it was full most of the time I was there and so parked on the street (which was free). One thing that really bothered me was the flimsy door-knob lock. Couldn't even lock the deadbolt upon leaving; you could turn it from the inside while you were in the room, but couldn't from the outside with the key. Hollow door. Didn't feel comfortable leaving my stuff in the room with just a cheap lock on the door knob to guard my stuff.

We visited during the week. This is an older motel with lots of different lodging options from rooms to apartments that can fit your family. I think one goes up to 8 people and several for up to 6 plus the various rooms with for 2 or 4. Convenient to downtown. We walked a couple blocks to the middle of town. In theory you could even walk to ZooAmerica but parking is free so why do it. So understand this is not fine lodging. You are not staying at the Ritz or the Holiday Inn. But you are not paying those prices either. Our room was basic and very clean. TV, good AC, mini fridge, microwave, good beds. All we needed. Sure you don't get toiletries besides soap, but I always have spares from other places I stay. No biggee. The people who check you in and out are friendly and responsive. They seem to care about their guests. This is a family motel. The pool was nice and we enjoyed it quite a bit. Put the floaties on the kids and have a great time. Parking is fine as long as you remember that if you leave your spot when it is starting to fill up, you may not have it when you get back later and will have to park on the street in front of the motel. The staff gave us the heads up and we were fine. Not sure how parking is on weekends, but I know traffic gets very bad on a Saturday in Hershey. We will definitely look to stay there on our next visit to Hershey.

Super quaint property that is definitely historic in nature. The grounds are really clean, and though the rooms are old and need upgrades, the vibe was really comfortable. If you’re used to chain hotels with newer fixtures and such this is not the place for you. If you like affordable, friendly and easy accommodations with an old school vibe you’ll love it here!

It felt like I was camping since it was 90 degrees out and the AC wasn’t cut on in the room until we got there at 7pm. The room never cooled off. The motel also doesn’t give shampoo which I though was odd since they have a pool. They only give bars of soap so I went out and got some shampoo since we had been swimming.

We are sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. As a matter of information, we do not turn the air on when the nightly temperature goes down to 50 degrees. We also don't give our shampoo because if we did we would have to pass that cost down to our guests.

We planned a day at Hershey Park and chose this place for the night before becausevof the proximity, low price and motor-era quaintness. It's definitely quaint and has an old-time charm. But the room was microscopic with poor HVAC and little space for luggage. The mattress was worn and saggy. The tiled bathroom was also quaint, but underlit and the shower had no sleves or nooks for soap and shampoo, so it had to sit on the floor. The room also was far from noise proof, so we heard everyone around us, including the staff talking loudly down the hall in the office. To be fair, the office staff members were pleasant and courteous and graciously didn't mind us running late checking out. There are fewer parking spots than rooms so I had to park down the street and walk back in the rain after unloading the car.
