Rainbow Mountain is a gay-owned and operated resort, restaurant and nightclub that has been serving the community since 1981. Nestled high atop a mountainside on 25 private acres, including a 2 acre pond, we boast a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Welcoming both men and women and open to ALL lifestyles, we are open year round with our friendly and helpful staff ready to serve you. We are near many warm weather activities such as boating, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, water skiing, golfing and water parks (both outside and indoor). In the winter, there is snow skiing (downhill and cross country), snow boarding, tubing, and snowmobiling. All year long there is great hiking, horseback riding, antiquing, outlet and flea market shopping, and gambling.

Visited this place last year and had a blast! Second time visiting and they charged us 400$ extra as a cleaning fee. I didn’t know that you have to empty your own trash can. It was literally a 10min cleaning. I do not see why charge 400$, nothing was destroyed or damaged. We were without water so we couldn’t shower or wash our faces or even flush. They said they were gonna refund me but if I requested a refund through the booking app. After speaking with a representative they said the hotel had to approve the refund and they denied it. We keep calling to speak with the manager and they keep ignoring our request. We haven’t heard a word back. This is a scam. They steal your credit info.

This is a total scam - extremely poor customer service. I tried to cancel my reservation 3 weeks in advance and they refused. The day of the reservation, they called me to know at what time I will arrive. I reminded them that i could not come (stuck abroad because of Covid Travel ban) and they promised to call me back. They have never done it and took the full amount of the reservation + a fee for not showing up !!!! So i called, and asked at least for a voucher, which they also refused... So I'm making sure that everyone knows how this business is run. If they treat potential clients like this, I can't imagine the experience over there. DO NOT BOOK - not a way do to business. PS: i will just post this on several websites to make sure it is visible to most of the people Thank you for your non-hospitality

PROS: Beautiful location! Great hiking/walking trails nearby and an eclectic group of local fixtures who frequent the "night club" on-site. Safe space for queer and LGBTQ+ people looking to visit the Poconos. Right on the side of Mt. Nebo this resort offers rustic vibes and breathtaking views. CONS: The website for booking is a bit complicated and misleading. I was in a group of four visiting from NYC and we booked a cabin with adjoining rooms and a bathroom in the middle, I even confirmed this was the set up by calling the front desk. Upon arrival we weren't even greeted and we were told that we should have booked another room initially (which was unclear on the website) but they don't have the one we originally booked available. We ended up having to pay double what we initially thought we would and they accommodated us in a different cabin right behind the bistro. The pool and hot tubs are closed for the season as is the gym, and sauna (a detail that was not mentioned in the booking description). When we entered our cabin the floors were very dirty almost sticky and the shower knobs were almost coming off the wall and were difficult to work. The beds were made with flat sheets and not fitted sheets and there was a tiny beer fridge. We stayed in what they considered the "executive" suite however it was right outside a common bonfire space so we could hear people socializing well into the evening. The fire place was not cleaned from the previous guests and there were no fire tools to light a fire in the fireplace. We opted to use the fire pits outside but we had to buy our own starter log and fire fluids from a store. Most of the lamps in the cabin didn't work, under the couch cushions we found trash from a previous guest-- a very large heavy glass coffee table collapsed while were were playing a board game on it and it nearly broke my friend's foot (we had to pick up the table and set it to the side so that no one else got hurt). Overall the biggest hindrance of this resort seems to be the management or mismanagement rather. There is a lot of potential because the location is beautiful however, I don't think its currently worth the price we paid.

My longtime friend and I booked a reservation at Rainbow mountain via their website. After a day or two my credit card account was hacked by them or a whoever they use to manage their accounts. I had to battle them to give me a refund and cancel my reservation. They still charged me a cancellation fee! This place is shady and dishonest - STAY AWAY!!! LET THE BUYER BEWARE.

The first time we visited was the forth of July weekend. We where not able to get a room because they where already booked. But we had a wonderful time. We came back to try the lodges. Everything was ok the staff are nice but the management sucks. I had a really bad experience with “Maggie” she claims to be the general manager. I work as a Hotel concierge in NYC I’ve never encountered someone who is so unprofessional in my years in hospitality. My partner left his meds at the front desk, he asked me to pick them up for me because me and my friends decided to stay another night. I asked Maggie about the meds she said to inform my partner to call the resort for them to release the meds I called my partner on the phone spoke to him and asked Maggie to speak to him. Maggie was not around but she was shouting because she couldn’t get up from her sitting on the stairs while chatting with someone downstairs. She shouted “Tell him to call the resort phone number!” I said i don’t know the resort phone number. Then again she was shouting the phone number to me. I don’t know why she couldn’t get up and speak to me. And show me where the phone number of the resort. I am a guest and I deserve to be treated like a guest. I have friends who we met and they asked me what I think about this place. I can say the pool staff are great! But the management sucked. Maggie does not deserve to be a general manager. She’s a disgrace in the hospitality industry.
