We came to the heathman for our wedding week and they were so fantastic and accommodating. They made everything feel special and easy and we are so grateful we got to stay here! Our room was gorgeous and the library is fantastic!

This hotel used to be a classic, the kind of place you could recommend to your friends and family as a nicer hotel with elegant service. We are back after a few years and it really falls short. SERVICE: the understaff valet parking. We often waited more than ten minutes for our car. At $50 a night we should all be getting better service for this fee. In the mornings there is a coffee service set out near the library and on both mornings when I came down it was empty and people were waiting. When I mentioned to the staff this people and gently asked if there might be a better system to entire for this (one & rare service-oriented amenity) the front desk person (20-something man with dark hair who has been overly casual during every interaction just rolled his eyes and said “usually someone tells me it’s out and that’s when we refill it.” While he said this two other staff members, including the woman who actually services the coffee station, just snickered at me. I don’t expect this place to be a Belmond hotel but I do expect better than this for the rate we are paying. INTERIORS: fake wood floors mean that you click, click, click around your room like you’re in a cheap motel. Really terrible, cheap design choices - along with bad service - really drive home the fact that this is a disappointing rip off.

Room Tip: Avoid. Honestly we have had better service at the Ace Hotel.

We ended our Oregon RV experience by spending our last night at the Heathman Hotel. It is beautifully decorated. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The hotel offers complementary bike rentals and afternoon happy hour. We arrived early so our rooms were not ready. The staff kept our luggage in a secure location and even delivered it to the first room that was ready while we were out and about. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Only complaint was that in one of the rooms there were no bathrobes or coffee. The teens didn't need either so no big deal. Our (parent room) room was stocked with robes, tea, coffee. We really enjoyed our night after 10 days of camping. The hotel is also just 2 blocks from Pioneer Square. Great location.

I had stayed at this hotel many years ago when it was considered one of the best in Portland. We decided to stay for a few nights during our recent family vacation because the prices seemed reasonable. Well, now I see why. The hotel has no services to speak of. There is no restaurant or bar. No house keeping and they are under staffed. One valet, one front desk and limited house keepers if you need new towels. Also, our room was not very clean when we checked in. We had to have them come up and scrub the floors since all of our feet turned black from all the dirt. I will say that the staff they do have were all great and were working as hard as they could to make things right. If you need what are still nice rooms for a day or two, this place would still be ok... Just be prepared for what is not offered.

I've stayed at this hotel before and it is a lovely place to stay. The staff is always great, the rooms are clean, and the decor is fun. The location is ideal with food, shopping, and entertainment within walking distance. We never needed our vehicle during our 4 night stay. It was enjoyable just walking around Portland. The only negative about the stay is that they are only offering housekeeping every third day. If you need your trash emptied you have to put it outside. If you are someone who doesn't regularly use housekeeping this is still a great place to stay. If you are like me and coming back to a clean room just makes you happy - not having housekeeping - is a huge bummer. I am hoping this goes away soon. I wish they would allow for half stars because I wouldn't left them a 3.5 but since half stars aren't allowed and the service and property are so nice I decided to leave 4.

This hotel starts off great before you even arrive. I had sent a request to check in early to prepare for a wedding. I received a proactive, personal phone call from the hotel staff confirming that we could check in anytime. I have never had a hotel do that for me. I knew we were in good hands from then on. The rooms are lovely. The lobby’s living room / library is very cool. The location can’t be beat. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. Stay at the Heathman Hotel when in Portland. 5 stars.

Enjoyed how close to pioneer square it was for our concert. It is a historical building but if in good shape. Was disappointing for my wife as the restaurant closed and use to be a great spot for breakfast so that's no longer an option. Also if you can't use stairs you need them to operate a lift to get in and out of the building. Staff is attentive and friendly.

We loved the look of the heathman hotel, with the library downstairs and the historic building. The room was spacious and clean. I really liked that instead of a keurig, the room came with a hot water kettle and French press to make coffee or tea. We were offered a welcome beverage when we checked in. When we needed our hot water kettle replaced, the staff graciously came up to exchange it even though it was very late at night.

Excellent room, wheelchair accessible. Loved the empty fridge for milk / to go boxes etc. Being British I was impressed with the complimentary tea selection. Management very responsive to resolve any query. Would definitely stay again.

Rooms are very clean and well-appointed. Staff was helpful. The hotel was located next to a park that was perfect for walking our dog. We parked next door and walked everywhere while visiting, so it’s a convenient location as well.
