I needed a place to quietly escape my noisy neighbors for a day or two. This gem was an excellent find. Easily accessed from I-205, if you're flying in PDX is 5 min. away. Downtown is less than 20 min. But the clean comfort! You'll want to order food delivery and enjoy the quiet refuge in this recently remodeled motel inn.

The Nordic Inn is a good value if you are visiting Portland and not spending much time in the hotel. The rooms are fairly simple, but modern and well furnished. The property and rooms are kept clean. I give them bonus points for daily housekeeping service. It seems a lot of hotels dropped this for no reason over the pandemic, so it is nice to find a budget hotel that still does full housekeeping service every day. In terms of location, it is on the outskirts of town by the airport. This could be a good or bad thing depending on what you want. I thought it was good because you do not have to deal with the riffraff that is associated with Portland. I never felt like my car was in danger here. It does mean, however, that you will not be able to rely on public transportation without driving to it first. This is a very solid hotel option in a city where you often don't know what you are fully getting into.

This is a very-reasonably priced motel. It has spotless rooms with good amenities, parking and helpful staff. It is in a great location for the airport, I-84 etc. On the other hand, the surrounding area is not the best. The Nordic Inn is an oasis, fenced and well-secured, doing a great job of functioning in a deteriorated part of Portland. I should also mention that, across the road is the excellent El Yucateco, a food cart also doing a great job in a difficult neighborhood. The burritos are fantastic and the people very friendly.

Stayed in 1 of 3 two-Queen suites over a Thur & Fri night. Room is as advertised. Website says “kitchen utensils are not provided.” It had kitchen towels; otherwise, nothing (e.g., no paper towels, can opener, dish soap). AC by "living room" bed worked to cool off main room, but the cold air didn't circulate very well to the other bedroom. Both beds have ceiling fans, which help. Bedroom has small window, which lets in noise (e.g., trains and planes, which you can hear in other room too; a dumpster was being loaded early in the morning right outside the window... that may have been a random event). There must be an ordinance making trains run slower and blow a quieter whistle at night through 7 am, because there was a big difference between the 6:30 am train one day and 7 am train the next day. If you are a heavy sleeper or, like me, a light sleeper who uses earplugs and white noise and is an early riser, noise shouldn't be an issue for you. Unit was clean. Beds were comfortable. TV in main room swiveled, so could watch from kitchen table or from bed. Found out our water heater pilot light was out the hard way the first night. Had to take cold showers the first night because the front desk person didn't know how to reset the pilot light. It was fixed the next day. If there were instructions, we could have done it ourselves. We were told this was not uncommon for a pilot light to get blown out, due to required safety vents bringing in air from outside. Check your hot water ASAP and hope that the person working there knows how to turn on the pilot if it is off.

So my account Google account was used to book rooms here and as soon as I saw charges to my account, I called this motel. I told them I didn't make these reservations and he refused to refund the charges because a third party app was used. I contacted the third part app and They informed me that the management team said they would reverse the charges. Later that night, I received an email saying that they were not refunding the 150.00 because I no showed on the reserved dates without canceling. I am at a complete loss. Cancel reservations someone else made and I did not know about until my card was charged. What really kills me about it all is the fact that I had just borrowed the money taken out of my account from my boss. Money borrowed so I could take my infant daughter to see a specialist that is located 5 hours from where I live. I barely made it back with the gas money I had left. I has to take out a payday loan since thet refuses to reverse charges. I have worked for motels before and I know that reversing the charges for these nights was more than doable. Especially when the motel canceled the reservations themselves after nobody showed and rented the rooms out to other guests. It just feels horrible.

Great stay overall. The location is not central, but it is not that far away from the main attractions in the city. The room was neat and well maintained. The internet was reliable. The staff were nice. Ample parking space was available.

This little motel is immaculately clean and quiet. Everything, even the parking lot, was spotless. Efficient check-in. Our room was updated decor. Nice proximity to airport. Everything in room in working order. We were blown away by cleanliness and updated decor. Cleaner than other way more expensive places we have stayed.

This is my third stay at Nordic Inn and it’s always been pleasant each time. Staff are friendly and check in and out if fast. Rooms are cozy and reasonably priced for your staff. Not much close by but a few restaurants options in the area, which is really quiet.

Needed a clean safe place to stay the night before flying out of PDX. Based on low price my expectations were very modest. Nordic Inn vastly surpassed my expectations. Very clean. Recently renovated. Room was large with a kitchenette. Room was quiet & bed was comfy. Def worth the very reasonable room rate. Thx for a great stay!

Very good, clean motel. Felt safe. The front desk very helpful. The Internet was fast. The location was great too - close to Portland and to Columbia River Gorge! Pity there was ongoing construction next door, so no sleeping in!

Do you have Free shuttle service to the airport?
Answer from scolburn
Portland, Oregon16 contributions17 helpful votes
I'm a local. The airport is around 5 miles away, depending on route, which there are a few of to help minimize all but the worst traffic jams. No shuttle. But Portland's famous public transportation can get you to a very close bus stop with minimal walking (three 2 to 3 minute walks from the terminal) via Max light rail and a change to bus at ParkRose Transit center) within 30 to 40 minutes, depending on time of day. Driving, the airport is 10 to 25 minutes away, again depending on time of day.

About 18 min in light traffic like now on a Sunday could be double that in rush hour you can google the drive time.
